A fight between a deaf woman and a blind man should have happened where those attributes matter. A place with alternating periods of light and dark, silence and noise like a subway tunnel. Then the fighters have to deal with both their enemy as well as the constantly changing environment of loud bright trains coining and going. That would make the fight unique and uniquely suited to these 2 characters and ONLY these 2 characters. This fight is generic and forgettable as there is nothing we haven’t seen before.

For those who are unhappy with the fight, rewatch the scene in the corridor from the first season of Daredevil, there are no significant differences. Your criticism is double standards

Looks more like a dance and is very calculated. It doesn’t look natural. But some of the moves are very good and DD’s balance is off the chart. The Netflix show though really made punches and kicks look real and painful
And Netflix Elektra was pretty bad already, but this "Echo" manages to be even worse. And the extremes are ironic as well, the Elektra actress was too skinny, the Echo actress is too fat, how can you be convincing in action scenes if you look like a average person? If the male actors goes through hell to look more athletic, the female actors should do the same, they should look like MacKenzie Davis or Gina Carano

In the comics Elektra is way more imposing and skillful. And to complete the joke, the child version of Elektra was from a different ethnicity, so that's her super powers, she changes ethnicity as she gets older. The show performed such a great job adapting Kingpin and Bullseye, so Elektra kinda stands out as a ugly stain imo, no one talks about her, she will be forgotten, which is a shame because the character is really cool

Anyone else notice that high kick that stalls mid air and Echo stumbles slightly to hold it while Charlie recovers from the previous hit. Like a previous comment there, unfortunately just doesn't look like the hits are connecting and Charlie Cox is actually having to slow down his pace that he is used to to accommodate this sequence.
I can’t confirm this but I feel like the high kick stall was a part of the choreography. She tricked him by delaying it and managed to connect the kick. I honestly wish it was planned cause it’s kind of hard to not notice that
I hope they acknowledge why the suit is back considering Matt renounced it in Season 3 of his own series. But that suit looks really good, I'm glad its back.

It's back when Echo was in her early villain days for Kingpin doing gang operations she and her gang ended up running into Daredevil who comes to take them out, and Echo is the only one who puts up a fight after DD dismantles everyone else in the gang.
Daredevil is already wasted in the mcu. She-Hull series failed to honor his character, and this Daredevil in echo is going soft. Echo literally fights like the typical henchmen that'll get beated up not less than 10 seconds, and Marvel managed to go easy on her. What a disappointment

I'm glad to see the improved budget has allowed them to maintain Matt's heightened sense of balance and his movement. Daredevil should always look like he can move and balance himself in a way that not even the most talented gymnast could pull off, which is hard to pull off on a Netflix budget and shooting schedule.
If that's true, then why is a deaf girl with a peg-leg - that he outweighs by at least 50 lbs - able to keep up with him? Maya should've been out for the count after the first few punches. 😑

Don't wanna be "that guy" but this fight scene kinda sucks. the choreography looks stiff. i thought MCU Daredevil is supposed to be more acrobatic? he was doing crazy flips, jumping off rooftops in She Hulk but in this he can barely even dodge. Where's the evasiveness he shown in She Hulk?

If elektra is still canon she takes it. However black widow can body hawkeye in close combat and so can yelena. You don't really look to hawkeye for hand to hand. The mcu kinda upgraded him in that area tbh. But daredevil and elektra are easily in the top 5 best martial artists in marvel period.

@@nicolasmejiavfx It looks too staged, they wait on each other too much. There's unrealistic down time so punches can land. It's like the person playing Echo couldn't match the speed of DD stuntman/Charlie or couldn't get the timing right so they had to change it and make it easier for her. It's too much of a dance and less of a fight. In the Netflix shows it felt like a real beatdown and that DD could lose and he was so tired. Sure this is just a piece of a fight, but there are no stakes to this and it's less exciting.
@Anonymous2.2 I finished what was possibly my 11th rewatch of season 3 last week. I love that show with a burning passion, but not every fight was perfection. There are numerous hits that don't land and moves that feel too slow like they do here. This was also just confirmed to be a six minute "one-shot" fight, and we've only consumed one minute of it in shitty quality.

I don't think it's necessarily the choreography, or Charlie Cox, I feel like this is the first time Alaqua Cox has had a role like this, and doesn't have the experience with choreographed fight scenes that Charlie Cox has. It probably needed to be paced differently due to her inexperience. If you watch the trailer for Echo, all the scenes where she has to fight in hand-to-hand combat look a little iffy.

That's so interesting because I thought that was kinda cool. As a martial artist that would be very difficult to pull off with force behind it. So "real life" aspect I get what ur saying. But from a choreography perspective, seeing a move like that pulled off is kinda cool. Not trying to argue. Just stating how our first reactions to seeing it were completely different. Regardless, I do miss the old Netflix marvel fights.

Daredevil is already wasted in the mcu. She-Hull series failed to honor his character, and this Daredevil in echo is going soft. Echo literally fights like the typical henchmen that'll get beated up not less than 10 seconds, and Marvel managed to go easy on her. What a disappointment

You would know if you watched any of them. Its exactly how he would behave minus all the acrobatics due to poorer budget on netflix. Matt literally appeared on screen and the whole show was elevated to match his level for this one ep. It was really something great

I'm glad to see the improved budget has allowed them to maintain Matt's heightened sense of balance and his movement. Daredevil should always look like he can move and balance himself in a way that not even the most talented gymnast could pull off, which is hard to pull off on a Netflix budget and shooting schedule.

This fight isn’t completely terrible. Has a couple cool moves but it is very slow and very obviously choreographed. Why aren’t they just hiring the people who worked on the Netflix shows?

This shows that Disney really doesn't care anymore. They produced a fight scene where half the hits visibly don't connect at all. Actually way more then half. Their actually acting as they get hit and it's just sad.
I mean, i can see that happening although in the comics DD is easily in the top 5 martial artists in the Marvel universe.
If elektra is still canon she takes it. However black widow can body hawkeye in close combat and so can yelena. You don't really look to hawkeye for hand to hand. The mcu kinda upgraded him in that area tbh. But daredevil and elektra are easily in the top 5 best martial artists in marvel period.

It's like the person playing Echo couldn't match the speed of DD stuntman/Charlie or couldn't get the timing right so they had to change it and make it easier for her. It's too much of a dance and less of a fight. In the Netflix shows it felt like a real beatdown and that DD could lose and he was so tired. Sure this is just a piece of a fight, but there are no stakes to this and it's less exciting.
In my opinition, its in same level.
Way better than She Hulk version of DD, but this does look a lil too staged, not as gritty as the Netflix version. We shall see.

There are numerous hits that don't land and moves that feel too slow like they do here. This was also just confirmed to be a six minute "one-shot" fight, and we've only consumed one minute of it in shitty quality.

I don't think it's necessarily the choreography, or Charlie Cox, I feel like this is the first time Alaqua Cox has had a role like this, and doesn't have the experience with choreographed fight scenes that Charlie Cox has. It probably needed to be paced differently due to her inexperience. If you watch the trailer for Echo, all the scenes where she has to fight in hand-to-hand combat look a little iffy.

That's so interesting because I thought that was kinda cool. As a martial artist that would be very difficult to pull off with force behind it. So "real life" aspect I get what ur saying. But from a choreography perspective, seeing a move like that pulled off is kinda cool.

All feels too choreographed… as in it looks too clean, like a dance, the hits don’t look of feel like they’re hitting. Just feels floaty. Daredevil series fights had weight to them, they felt brutal and hard.

I appreciate the whole scene being done with 1 camera and no cuts, but we know the finished product is gonna be chopped up and angled everywhere
You can find the cuts in the quick camera sweeps. So there are quite a few but overall better handled than in Daredevil season 2.
