Nepotism in the us vs in Korea is very different. In Korea they actually make sure their kids are talented and trained for what they want to do do and they also at least as I seen so far doesn’t immediately shot them to the top they help them get an audition or maybe at the most an instant trainee, at most they shine a light on their kid and the rest is up to them. In the us it’s instant big roles all about money over talent and that’s why nepotism and nepo babies get a bad rep. In the us a lot of celebrity kids will make stage names so people won’t know who their parents are so they won’t be accused of nepotism.
It's more to do with family honour. If u promote some lazy no-talent idiot just because they are your family, and they end up sucking, everyone will be so-and-so son/daughter sucks, and not that person sucks themself.
This is exactly what is happening in Bollywood rn..Famous old timers are launching their kids left and right, but at the end of the that crappy no-talent nepo-kid is just going to be known So-and-so's talentless kid, which means that their parents are being dragged as well, for force-feeding their spawn to public.
