And the fact that the girl was smiling when the man was "abusing"/attempting to kill her shows that she isn't exactly a good woman either. My theory: There's this girl who kind of plays guys around and dates many guys and make them fall for her,aka the protagonist. And as for the pink-haired man,he might surprisingly be in mad love with the girl(and possibly having the mindset of "eating her is love") I The guy at the beginning being eaten might be a reference to the other guys the girl dated.(their hairstyle and haircolour are similar) As he only wants her for himself,but is too shy/timid around her.
