I have a 1992 Yamaha Seca II, it is my first motorcycle. It is far from new and definitely not the fastest bike on the road but I have put 7,000 miles on it in the 2 years I have had it and it is a lot of fun to ride. Thinking of upgrading to something bigger next year but will keep my Seca II as well
If the bike is in decent shape then I would strongly encourage you to keep it if possible. Until you get a second one to judge it against anyway. It's hard to describe the Seca but what I do know is I wish I had never sold mine.
its not a good bike for wheelies for sure. but it can get the front tire up if you cruise bout 5k rpm first gear. then rev till redline and pop the clutch. while doing that squat back on the seat. once its up let off the throttle some and ride out the gear.
It sucks for wheelies. My first bike was a 83 seca 400 and I wheelied that thing like crazy. It just was a lot easier without all the motor weight even with way less power. I don't feel comfortable on the xj wheelieing. Cbr 300 is good wheelie machine for me. Punchy down low and light enough in the fromt makes it easier. Also I'm 53 now and have no desire for 100 mph street wheelies anymore. No way I'm lucky to be pretty much in one piece lol.

I have 2 of these bikes and I'm curious to know how the hell you pop a wheelie on it...lol
Sit back farther on seat and peg the gas when you bounce in second gear
I have identical bike same year and color mine has 8700 miles
Thats cool man! Thanks for the comment!
