Wooden serving tray build

Design inspired by a mix of existing wooden serving trays.
Made from beautiful Black Walnut.
Sanded to 240 grit.
Experimentally left the miters unreinforced.
Finish with hard wax oil.
Applied a second coat of hard wax oil and beeswax off screen.

It is a beautiful serving tray. One question you glued the bottom panel on all four sides. Are you not worried about expansion and contraction? I have made similar serving trays but let the bottom panel float leaving room on each side for expansion.
