CHINATOWN is a neighborhood in Lower Manhattan, New York City, bordering the Lower East Side to its east, Little Italy to its north, Civic Center to its south, and Tribeca to its west. With an estimated population of 90,000 to 100,000 people, Chinatown is home to the highest concentration of Chinese people in the Western Hemisphere. Manhattan's Chinatown is also one of the oldest Chinese ethnic enclaves.

That brings back memories. I live in Australia and I stayed in that Hotel Mulberry across from Columbus Park in 2019. It was winter and the first time I saw snow in my nearly 50 years of life was in that park.

It is quite sad to see so many spots with the sign "For Rent" and even made more gloomy by the endless sight of empty streets. Even in Korea and other places seemed the same. I wonder what time did you shoot this? Would be nice to see more people on the streets. And the rain didn't help either.
Though I do appreciate that you continued despite the weather. Some shops I even recognized after watching videos of the Fung bros in Chinatown cheap eats.

East Broadway and even Division Street now have a lot of empty storefronts and it has gotten much quieter with fewer people compared to more than 10 years earlier, but with now more non-Asian people walking through. The western portion of Chinatown like Doyer, Mott, Elizabeth, Mulberry, Canal, Grand, and Bayard Streets are fairing better in terms of prosperity and pedestrian traffic.

New Yorkers are hilarious to me, let’s just keep cutting across the road and cutting cars off And then stopping and waiting for the walk sign on intersections with no cars🤣💀

    Hello Julien,
In Europe (Germany) we say looks like a
"No go Area", because ecerythings looks scruffy, unhygenic and sordid. Sorry for a European Viewer that's true,
because this is a walk in a third World Country.

Don’t be sorry … it’s pretty true. But Chinatown is one of the major attraction of NYC.
And by the way, I’m European 😉

@@JulienInNYC And since today it's "dangerous, uncomfortable" in Europe and mostly Germany because the Confict with Russia escalate
The new Nato Member Finland has a over 1500 km Border with Russia. Putin don't accept this.
So it's good to see you walking through New York, the City i love and were i have been very often, stay at Hotel Hilton 6th Ave ~ 30 % cheaper if i book and pay this at a Travel Agency in Germany, and sometimes in Fords, N.J. at a Friends House.
Also i have Friends in Kentucky it's another World, and there life excuse me the "Trump Voters" he makes America not great he makes America insignificant and ridiculous. But enought about this.
I love it when you walk threw New York and i happy that you are back again and looking forward to see more. Thanks for that.z

You've clearly never been to a true third world country, if you think this looks ANYTHING like the third world, lol.

I've been in 2019 in Uganda East Africa, Jinja (Source of the Nile, longest River on Earth) and Kampala, Capital of Uganda. People there have
less than 1 €/$ a Day for the whole Family, some People have nothing. Your Streets looks like in Uganda. Also your Railway System, your Surburbs and Ghettos the Home of Crime and Drugs everywhere and and and. Thats for "You have never been". But: America ist a strong, proud Nation, because you have a great, wonderful Country, nice and very lovely Citizens and i've been there very often. NYC, Houston, Tx., Lexington, Ky., Buffalo and Albany N.Y., Washington D.C., Cincinnati Ohio. I enjoy every hour stay in America. And important: America brings Freedom and Peace to Europe and my home Country Germany after WW2, the Country which begans the War. You can be PROUD to be American! Please excuse my English. God save you and your Family,
      Wolfgang Hamburg Germany

Dude, I'm from a third world nation and been to NYC and other places in the US, STFU, you don't know what it is to live in a third world country. Many places here don't have running water or even electricity, you can't compare some litter on the streets to the fucking squalor and shantytowns in many third world nations.
