This documentary should also be broadcast on commercial television channels. It beautifully represents this sport, his meaning in the culture and benefits for young people all over the world.
He acknowledged chiaki ito, that shows how much influence his skating had on the young generation of skaters then, that are now great like soichiro, it means that when you have a good foundation and the right motivation and inspiration your bound to soar higher in your discipline, thank you JP this got me juiced to put more work into building my scene am grateful to rollerblading for this
I’m 36 and use to skate heavy from around 12 to 16 . Life got in the way and I lost the passion here I am now with my first child turning 9 months getting back into skating and loving it all . Watching docs like this give me such pleasure and nostalgia. This sport is so underrated and unappreciated. My son will skate and I will make sure he never loses that love.
Well it was really big back in the day but yeah sadly it has never reached even close to those heights again, I do hope one day it can be as big as it once was in the 90's.
Best production in blading right now. Thank you for being so passionate and putting in all those hours for us. I know how hard you work and its inspiring.
I needed this video when i was in my early 20’s , now 34. At the time I hung my skates up due the grinding street culture taking over too much and I forgot that skating was about having fun and expressing my movement, only focusing on impressive grinds at the time which took my love away from skating . Had I still had the same knees and no slipped discs I would definitely be back at my park or local street sections to focus on expression and movement over trick Caliber Thank you for this video 🙏
It's so nice to see Chiaki Ito being mentioned in this. My first pair of skates were Salomon STI Teams, so I grew up watching the likes of Chiaki Ito, Aaron Feinberg and even Chris Farmer had a pair for VG19. Great times and it's amazing to see this scene still going strong. I also remember from Japan the Yasutoko brothers, albeit they were from the more commerical vert scene.
damn this is done so well. very nice work and super cool to see that he owns a skatepark and teaches. Didn't know that about him and much more respect for the dude now. awesome stuff
Pretty much spot on to how our crew views rolling halfway around the world in Milwaukee, WI. . . Ikigai. . . Much Love and wish I could visit Okayama to experience “Yamada Green” skate park myself !
Oh the one I’ve been waiting for! To be honest I thought his voice would be a little lower, on a side note. Totally enjoyed watching this little profile vid of him and it’s really heartwarming to see him teaching the next generation. Love his mentality of put emphasis on developing style. I can’t wait to see who is next!
This is one of my favorite episodes of Action Figures. Technnical aspect is just flawless. Beautiful photography, image and color correction and color depth are on point, sound is on point, and the editing is flawless. I didn´t know Soichiro was such a cool character, and that he ran a skatepark. Love the fact that this piece brings everyone closer to him as a person and it´s cool to see that he was around from the very beginning and supports the blading community besides being a badass blader. This is the kind of stuff that is helping put blading on the map again. Great stuff as usual Butter TV! keep up the amazing work!
This was amazing to watch. Put together so well. I love his mindset towards blading. He loves all aspects of skating and the history. That’s so important. I always have and always will. Respect!
So well done. Such an influential skater in my life and is so nice to see him as so much more than just a great skater. Looking forward to visiting Yamada Green Park
Really cool video. Soichiro seems like a great guy and Japan has a strong bunch of skaters. Well shot and edited. Best skate output I've seen for some time. 🤙

Main lenses used are Canon 24-105mm f/4 and Canon fisheye 8-15mm f/4. Occasionally a 16-35mm f/2.8 is used as well as some primes but for this particular project only the first two I listed were used. Cheers!
@@BUTTERTV Thanks! I was really impressed with the telephoto lens but then immediately you're shooting wide, i think i know what lens i need to buy now. great stuff! its refreshing to see great video work

out of all the summer action sports, i always thought this looked like it's the most fun. not sure why it hasn't become bigger than it is
