I just got my first camera ever and I'm 25 and wow I had no id if it wasn't for you I could have break where the light is. You thought me alot I AM IMPRESSED WITH HOW EASY I LEARNED FROM YOU . YOU SPEAK SOOO RIGHT AND KNOW HOW TO EXPLAINT TO ME THANKYOU THANKYOU GOD BLESS YOU & 🐕
Hey I just bought this exact camera after watching this. Do u know of any good lens I can buy maybe for micro shots and wild life. I'm new to photography.
Think less about a specific lens and more about a specific focal length. Pick your focal length based on use -- what will you be photographing on the streets? (if it's something that's a high-risk situation, then get a cheap lens.) Will you be close to your subjects or not? (if you plan to be close, you need something wider to fill the frame with your image and on an APS-C then you need to be thinking very wide.) And do you want autofocus or not? (If you plan to shoot manual focus, you need a wider lens so that you can maximize the hyperfocal distance use.)
Thanks a lot for your video.. I bought this camera 📸 cause after this pandemia it's been hard to get something new and expensive... Do you think that is going to be a good camera for Birdwatching.?. 😇 ✌🏼
With the right lens, it would be absolutely awesome. The kit lenses (18-55 & 55-200) are ok but a longer reach lens (300mm or so) will work really well. I recently did a 2 week trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton with the D5000 and Tamron 16-300 lens. The whole thing worked perfect with a ton of great pics
I believe that's covered in the third video in this series which runs through all the menu options. That should be covered in the playback menu section of that video.
Yes but that would be like trying to run a sports car on bathtub gin -- it's going to be painfully slow. Even if your mini SD card has the right speed rating, your adapter probably does not.
@@DavidHancock Interesting. I wouldn't think that the physical size of the card would matter as long as the card had the capacity. I tried a 256 mini and the camera claimed that there was no card, or it was locked and needed to be formatted.
How can i save my video.. I film video and it was play in camera but when I put in my cp the memory card the video is not there what can I do for it Tnx.. Man
If it's playing back on the camera then it's saved. It might just be in a different folder on the SD card. From your card's root folder, search *.* and then open the file location of the video results.
Do you know how to control the length of recording, I have a problem that my camera has a limitation to record only 5 min or below. When it reaches 5 min it stops recording. Sorry if my English is not so good and THANK YOU!
@@DavidHancock I use Kingston 32 GB MicroSD with an adapter for full SD card and sometimes I put HEMA 16 GB of standard full SD card size. The situation is the same with both cards.
@@izack2413 that's almost certainly your problem. The cards probably run out of buffer because the write speeds are too slow. You'll want at least an SDHC card, not a micro. And the name brands will be better as they have better build quality.
@@DavidHancock Ummm sorry, my bad. Yeah, they are SDHC cards. I didn't even know that there are those cards. Would you know the solution even though they are SDHC? I appreciate your time and patience to teach beginners like me.
@@izack2413 if they're micro SD cards of any standard, the adapter is probably not the same standard. Adapters are often very slow. The adapter is likely your culprit and you'll probably need full-size SDHC cards.

Thank you! I am glad to hear that I helped you learn your new camera.
thank you so much! i’ve recently found my parents’ old camera, and i wanted to learn how to use it!
Thank you!
I have to teach a guy how to use one of these today, thank you, very helpful ..
Thank you!

Nice purchase! For lenses, you'll want to look at Nikon F Mount DX format lenses. There are a lot of good options for you.
Tamron 16-300 for the Nikon DX mount would work awesome for your needs. It'll do macro, wide (16) for landscape and zoom (300) for wildlife.
Thank YouDavid!
Thank you!
Hallo mr David thanks for the lecture, i also need help my Nikon camera shows r13 on the lens ans can't work what could be the problem
That shouldn't be an error. That should be the number of remaining (r) photos in your continuous shooting queue.
Recommend any good lens for this cam that is good for streetphotography??❤️

how to pop up the histogram in live mode at the same time ? thank you

Hello David, before I was able to record on the D5000 but now the camera cannot be used for recording?
How full is your memory card? Usually this happens when the card doesn't have enough space for video.
Hi....I have dark faded corners on the lcd screen of this camera ..how can they be removed please?thank you for this video
Do the dark corners show up on your photos?
@@DavidHancock No..
@@johanncamilleri6655 there's a good chance that the LCD is either damaged or failing.
@David Hancock OK thank you for your help
How many shutter count is Nikon D5000?
That depends on the camera. Everyone will have been used differently.
Hi, is it possible to charge the battery inside the camera using a cable??? I lost the buttery charger.
I don't think so. There are third-pay chargers online that work well. Kastar and Power extra are both good.
How can I set auto iso in manual mode? Thanks.
Check video 3, the shooting menu section, ISO Sensitivity Auto Control.
Hi, how can I record videos using this camera? its hard to find a record button/mode.
This is a still only camera, IIRC.
@@DavidHancock no, u can record video on this camera, you press liveview than play button ok and it will start recording video

Hello, I had a question. Does the moon shine in your photos, so the moon is visible?
Do you mean if I take a photo of the moon? Depends on a lot of factors with regards to image settings, butter generally yes.
thank you for answering
