    One thing I always carry on my boat is a good rechargeable flashlight. You never know when you might need it. I also have one of those cheap tool kits in the zipper case that has pretty much everything I need. It's just smart to play it smart.

      🤦🏻‍♂️ they give you the knowledge you need to go out on your own…. You don’t need a “free” trip to “gain knowledge”. Just fyi. It ain’t free cause someone’s gotta pay for something. If you listen to their videos. It’s already there. I’ve been following these cats since they were at 29,000 subs. Back when “fishing a hud” was actually hard. Since then they’ve come out with videos where fishing a hud is actually “easy”. They can teach you anything you want to know. Just adhere to the content. Since 2016. I’ve bought a boat. Ridiculous equipment. Spend countless hours in video time and on water time to learn. Put the time in. You don’t need a guided trip to steal a guides spots or just be around knowledge. You’ve already got the knowledge.

    For me, the talons and raptors are impossible to use because my fishing partner is my wife. It would get in her way and she would absolutely hate it. She’s handicap and can’t get up in the front of the boat. I love my helix hummingbird because it hooks directly to my Minnkota Terrova trolling motor. It’s only a 2D version but it has the best image of 2D that I’ve ever seen in the unit! I have the Garmin UHD echo map for my main Consol and it’s touchscreen and you’re right, touchscreen is the way to go!

    Question: have you found that the Apex gives more detail and Target separation than Solix when running either MEGA 360 or MEGA Live???
    I have a solix unit on the bow and planning to add a second unit. Really would like Apex but there are a little bit more pricey, so I would appreciate any advice you can give me. I'm older now that so the clear the picture the better for me. Thanks fellas. Great video as always.

    • @STEWIEGRIFFEN4002
      @STEWIEGRIFFEN4002 2 года назад

      If you are looking for structure, you want Mega 360. If you are wanting to target a specific group of fish, Mega Live is better. In reality you want both on the front of your boat. Mega for finding structure and Live for targeting and fishing specific schools of fish. Live picks up school detail better than 360. Think of Mega Live as your underwater camera. You can see the school in detail but you cannot see around structure. Mega 360 helps you to see fish hiding behind structure like stumps for example but not in detail like Live. They are 2 different tools with 2 different roles.

    Di, images, si, side imaging.
    But when you go too purchase you dont know what unit you need on a limited budget to do both; then you want to add live. Do you need separate units? One for down and another for live?
    Hummingbird marketing, unit selection, just down right confusing for newbie’s.

    One note to add about the inflatable pfd. If you’re not physically wearing it, at least in Georgia, it does not count as a pfd according to the game warden. You have to be wearing it to count. The traditional foam lifejackets do count whether you’re wearing them or not.

    I'm looking at solix10 & mega 360 for my kayak. with my PA12 the 10" screen would b perfect size plus I can't afford the 12" model along with mega 360. my question is, does the solix 10&12 have same processor's, is the 10 run same speed as 12"? I've heard couple guys say the solix 10 is really slow? idk if that's true or if they were just not hummingbird fans?? • @STEWIEGRIFFEN4002
      @STEWIEGRIFFEN4002 2 года назад

      Don't know if they covered the difference but the Talon has everything contained in the Talon. There is no remote hydraulic reservoir. The Talon also deploys straight down. The Talon is good when you do not have a ton of extra space in your boat. All they need is a battery. Raptors are hydraulic. They have a remote hydraulic reservoir and hydraulic lines running from the reservoir to the Raptor. Raptors deploy like Power poles. They deploy out then the spike deploys down. If you like fishing of the back of the boat, the Talons are the way to go. But if you have the extra room for a battery and hydraulic reservoir, I like the raptors. But they make fishing of the back of the boat a bit of a pain.

      There are two times that it really matters. When you want to face any direction besides into the wind or current, and when you're in shallow water and don't want to continuously make noise or stir up the bottom.
