In Indonesia, this is called "Pizza Mie" (noodle pizza) and most folks like me eat it without sauce or toppings. And I think, after watching this shorts, I'll give it a try!
@@Bento_Club yes indeed! And I just remembered, it's not that we eat it plain, we mix the sauce and seasonings onto either the egg or the noodle after the noodle is cooked. Different from what you did
Yup. I do this all the time when I have ramen. I pour just enough water so that it cooks and evaporates at the same time. Then I pour the sauce packet on it right after and stir. It’s just slightly wet from the evaporated water.
I have a recipe for Indonesian omelet which actually is Pan fried ramen, Here’s the recipe if you’re interested: 1. Choose any Indomie soup (Soto, Chicken flavors, chicken curry etc) 2. crush the indomie (or tear it into pieces so that it’ll help you when you mix them with egg mixture later) and boil them. 3. beat two eggs and flavor them with salt and pepper, you can add spring onions, or chilli to the mixture (optional) and add the Indomie. (❌ do not add the flavor packet) 4. boil a water and put the flavor packet in (you can add chili powder to it) and don’t put too much water since it’s gonna be the sauce. 5. fry the egg-Indomie mixture on a pan until it turns crispy and golden. 6. Voila! you can dip the omelet into the soup, or eat them separately, you can also eat them with rice ❤
It's really flavorful if you mix the soup powder into the egg, then combine with the noodles and fry. Afterwards mix in a little bit of butter so it doesn't taste too dry
In Naples (Italy) it's called "a frittat e maccarun", It Is made with pasta leftover: short pasta or long pasta. This recipe Is very ancient and It was "a merenn", the mid day break of many napolitan children and children with relatives and family from Campania region all over Italy. I still prepare It when i have pasta or even Rice leftover nowadays, instead of prepare arancini or supplì.
I need you to know that I made this for my husband tonight except I didn’t have potato starch so I used a tiny bit of corn starch and some left over duck sauce from the Chinese restaurant to mix in with the broth and I used some left over pulled fried chicken. I used a ton of scallion like you did. When I told him I was making ramen for dinner I could almost hear his eyes roll over the phone. When he got home and ate it he was IN HEAVEN. He genuinely couldn’t believe it was instant ramen. He LOVED it. Thank you!
Listen up! My momma made me a noodle omelet years ago and i got hooked. I am dropping my favorite noodle omelet recipe Ingredients ~One pack of cheap ramen soup (must be soup not the sauce type). ~2-3 eggs or more...(depending on how much you want) ~A diced tomato ~Sliced ham (optional) ~cheese(optional) ~Butter ~salt(if needed, soup bases are already salty. Cooking: ~boil the noodles ~ fry the tomatoes in butter until they soften up and you can even press them into a sauce kind of ~ in a bowl whisk the eggs with the soup base, ham cut into small pieces, and cheese. ~when the tomatoes are soft and creamy add the noodles and mix them roughly with the tomatoes ~pour the egg mixture and let it cook well. Serve with toast or normal bread I guarantee you, this is too bomb not to try.
That’s what I thought too! Im chinese-viet and I grew up on this at restaurants and weddings. It’s popular in southeast saia bc there’s a ton of chinese migrants who came from guangdong where this dish originated.
i use instant noodle.. 1 pack with 2 eggs, a sausage... soft the noodle first, then toss it.. crack 2 eggs, stir it then put the noodles and the paste.. then put it on pan. you also can put anything beside sausage in it. after it cook, serve it with mayo and ketchup sauce.. its yummy
Reminds me of the noodle omelettes my mum makes. Basically the same thing just with more egg, and usually the flavour packet it added to the egg noodle mix before cooking
He’s just so chill about everything, every time I watch his videos, my mouth waters and he’s just like “it’s great” and I would be like MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
In Malaysia we call this Murtabak Maggie! (Maggie is the Nestle brand but we use it to coloquially mean instant noodles, though.. also we are doing widespread Nestle boycott 🍉).. Murtabak is a dish of meats and or veges cooked w egg to make it a patty then wrapped with some wraps then pan fried.. but for this we skip the wrapping lol
College, I would take the brick ramen, boil and strain the noodles. In a pan I would put oil, garlic and like half a teaspoon, or a knife tip of peanut butter. Get it all melted together, add cayenne and about half the seasoning packet, and fry the noodles in it, tossing and coating them evenly. Then add a fried egg on top
Yum .. I do this always but .. fry them a little more and the sauce .. add soya sauce to beef or chicken sauce with stock but no starch just add to boil till it gets thicker then add half over the noodles in the frying pan then mix . Plate add chicken or beef depending on noodle flavours its amazing 😊
Ok alternative take. I always cook these in a pan from the start, as this means the water in the broth boils off as you cook leaving you essentially frying the cooked noodles in their own sauce. Quicker than your method, no loss of flavour, quicker and easier than boiling and straining and frankly obvious way to cook them that I learned as a teenager and have never cooked them any other way since.
We Indonesian have discovered how to make a milet (mie kelet) which means sticky noodle long time ago, the process is the same as in the video, for some region in Indonesia it has different name, for me, instead of using the spices that comes with the noodle to make a sauce, i more prefer using sambal or hot sauce
kinda similar, when i make instant ramen i separate the broth, add some corn starch slurry and a beaten egg. kinda like instant ramen egg drop soup. or i drain 99% of the broth and beat an egg into the noodles. but if you do that you should cook the noodles in the soup base so they absorb some of the flavor 👍
May I suggest you use cast iron if you’re going to finish cooking on the counter top to film. Aluminum did an ok job but it diffuses heat so fast I’m betting it’s giving you a pretty hard time.
I do something similar to the standard ramen you find in the us. Put water in a skillet, add the noodles. Once they start to soften, add the flavor packet, some mushrooms, chopped green onion, and a teaspoon of curry powder. Cover with a lid and let the liquid cook down, then add more water. Crack an egg on top, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cover with lid and cook until the egg is done. I sometimes add peanut butter in as well with the curry powder.
my mom used to make this bcs i don't like the taste of fried eggs. so whenever she cooks eggs, she cooks it with something else in the egg mixture (such as tofu, cabbage, or instant noodle). instant noodle is an easy alternative since it was cheap and easy to get in indonesia, and i uses to make it all the time when i was a broke uni student 😂
I've done smthn like this, i boil my water then i add in my noods cook them for about 40secs jus enough to cook thoroughly but not overcook n make the noods too starchy then strain the noods keep the juice from the noods on the side, in a pan i heat olive oil, while thats heating i mix the noods juice with the seasoning pk, onion powder, garlic powder, n a pk of sazon goya (the orangish one that has paprika n cumin in it) n it, then once my pan with the oil is heated up i toss the noods in then pour in the broth mixture let it heat up n toss the noods around n make sure to keep tossing so all the noods get completely covered with the sauce, then i plate it with stallions n either reheated chicken or steak n it comes 😋out so damn good!!
I used to make okonomiyaki using nissin noodle. Start with boil the noodle only till it start loosen up a bit, like half cooked then mix with 2 eggs, seasonings and very thin cut ham. Then using Low-medium heat, with some oil, pour the noodle and the eggs down wait untill the bottom start to cook then carefully flip if the shape is there then turn the heat low and flip every now and then till u get preferred color. Then plate it with some chives, kewpie mayo and sriracha sauce. 🤤
ive actually tried the panfried noodles end. but normally i put only enough water to cook the noods. then let em fry a bit. then eat. but adding eggs and brother 🤤 sounds so good!
