I'm a criminal defense attorney, and you make me want to buy the book, even though I'll never practice plaintiff's work, but credibility is always key.

Man you have a fan!! Really like what you are doing in this space. I am buying the book now. Sooo many lawyers try cases as the Plaintiff almost ashamed of the case and not offensively or from a place of confidence. This sounds like a great tool! Thank you.

You make it sound so cool that I want to start my own firm myself. I wish you'd talk about e&o and other insurance and what it costs for Westlaw.

I don’t pay for either of those, but you can find prices through Google

@@LawVenture Thank you, i am well aware of the existence of Google, Bing, Wolfram Alpha, Yandex, Baidu, and others. It seems that both of those would be important in practice, so what I am really interested is experience of someone who's ran a successful practice. Which would be you. I can see how it could be possible to live without westlaw - but why do you choose to be without insurance?

@@LawVenture Wow. How do you do research you can count on as good law? Would the time it takes to use alternatives such as Google Scholar defeat paying for a service like "Westlaw" or "Lexis"?

The comments at 22:50 about opposing counsel has no decency and should be ashamed are almost universally forbidden. Counsel do not take on the position of clients. It draws objections and often sharp judicial rebukes. Smart opposing counsel can get a curative instruction that makes the other counsel now look shady. This draws the focus away from facts and credibility to lawyer gamesmanship. You cannot run from facts, stick to them. Parlor trick lawyer jabs often get roundhouse judicial returns. Not worth it. I’ve litigated for decades.

That’s a fair warning. Reading the book will help put the strong language in better perspective though. In extreme situations, polarizing can put the defense lawyer on an island as well.
