No words for Grozer. That man is 39 y.o and still delivering God-tier gameplay. 31 points in 4 set, 27 attacks, 3 blocks, and 1 aces. He'll be back to the Olympic stage after 12 years.

It really seems like Germany worked all year up to this point so they can qualify for Olympia. MY GOODNESS this is a totally different Team than what we could see in EuroVolley or VNL just this year. Incredible that you can turn your performances around in such a short time. Grozer really helps a lot, but it's definitely EVERYONE on the Team having the performances of a lifetime. Tobias finally keeping up with his blocks, both Setters harmonizing super good with everyone on the court and every outside just seems way more crafty and brave against these supposedly international "monster teams" like Brazil, Italy, Iran even Cuba. How the heck we win 4 in a row against these teams? I still can't believe it
Grozer is the game changer. When you have that much of power on the right wing, the entire team just runs so much smoother and everyone just has a better time.
@@seansong4273 i´m kinda new to volleyball and grozer is obviously a mighty player, but is he like that much better than right-wingers from brazil, italy etc? at his age? i mean sure he´s scoring like a beast and i guess it´s also uplifting to know you can always set to him and it´s always a good idea, but still.
@@zefix1234 It's not about being better than the RightWing Spikers from other countries, he's just way more consistent and REALLY CLUTCH in comparison to our other Right Wing Spiker Linus Weber. No disrespect to him, Linus is a CANNON as well, he really is powerful, but Grozer somehow always gets the point, no matter how bad it may look for him in terms of set quality or tripple block on the opposing side of the net. It's like he has 99% to choose the right option on how to get the point. BIG DADDY GROZER IS ALWAYS THERE FOR YOU when you need him.
Good example for a fitting comparison would be Brazil with Darlan and if they could play Wallace De Souza (sadly he made that political statement so he is not allowed to play). Darlan is a lot like Linus, super powerful, high jump, big hits and definitely a beast, but he is inconsistent. both of them don't always get the point, in fact even get blocked in crucial moments. Wallace De Souza would totally have the same effect as Grozer has right now if he could play for Brazil.

to be fair, grozer is the main reason why germany got 3rd place in poland world champs in 2014. after that, he kinda retired from national team and focused his career on his team. After the bad performance germany had in olympics, last year champs and vnl, he decided to come back and absolutely slaughter other teams. In my oppinion, as a massive volleyball fan, grozer is definitely competing with wallace for the best op player of the last 10 years

Grozer niesamowita forma. Widać, że przygotowania niemieckiej drużyny były skierowane konkretnie pod ten turniej. Włochom dały się jednak we znaki trudy sezonu.
Nie tylko Włochom. Polacy też troszkę słabiej grają niż w VLN i ME. Tak to czasem wygląda. Ale my sie różnimy tym od nich że nawet jak gramy troszkę słabiej to i tak wygrywamy 😎😁
włosi zagrali wczoraj katastrofalnie, śmiem twierdzić że poziom z finału ME sprzed 3 tygodni pozwoliłby im na spokojne zwycięstwo z Niemcami.

Yessss! Was also thinking about that, with the recent unexpected world cup win of germany in basketball it seems their mens volleyball is having a great motivation to do better as well
Germanys best player doesn’t play non Olympic tournaments(maybe he played at world championship, don’t think he did).
They also got back 2 decent wings and their 2nd best player in their libero. Seems like a perfect storm of a pretty fresh team going against fairly fatigued squads in a short amount of time.

Congrats to Germany, beating Brazil and Italy in less than 18 hours is not easy, really impressive. Grozer and Brehme were unstoppable. Italy needed Russo (and Anzani) today. De Giorgi should have subbed Sbertoli in sooner, he played with Lavia and Michieletto all year long and Giannelli was not setting them properly. Germany would've had less chance to qualify through the ranking, winning this tournament is huge for them. Glad to see Grozer at the Olympics at 40 years old, but I'm wondering what Germany will do when he decides to retire. Linus Weber is not at his level yet.
Yeah. I hope Grozer is healthy until through to Paris. Linus Weber, no matter his improvements recently, is still inconsistent.
@@rudicandaza3692 Yes but after Paris? There's the World Championship in 2025 (new rules, every 2 years instead of 4, after the Olympics). You can't have a national team shaped around at a 40-year-old player...

Weariness of a long season takes its toll on Italy's shoulders
I don't know men, Italy lost in the VNL, then in the European championship, and now losing here in Olympic qualifier. For me its more like they are already figured out, that happens when you become number 1, everyone wants to beat you so they study them deeper. And also their roster is not new anymore unlike the past two years where they are a newly assembled young team with great potential and not yet figured. So if they want that spot again they gotta work harder.
@@Kenta20451 Agree, they played everything the same. If compared to other teams, they haven't improved much at all. And yes, they need to work harder to get a ticket for Olympic.
@@Kenta20451 They played continuously since may and not to mention the club season , it's clear that they are not shiny, same thing happened to poland with their two tie breaks but thanks to the deep of their roster they could manage to win, but italy doesn't have that deep, well to be honest no one has it, maybe one thing I "accuse" De Giorgi is the non-use of their bench more often like in game with qatar,
For the results I can say ok maybe this season didn't won anything but they are still there fighting for the titles so im not particulary worried
@@yuppibu9369 Don't get me wrong, I am a also a fan of Italy, and in no way I think they aren't good anymore. They still are, but come against a stable and strong team they seem to be struggling now this year. I agree that their main problem of not having a deep bench, they have players but aren't as good as their starters, just look at the vnl, their first two weeks was a fail without their first 5 (as Romano played, I think also their main libero). And to be fair with Poland Leon and Kurek hasn't played yet in this Qualifier so a 5 setter is understandable but still because of a deep bench they managed. I'm not worried that they will be below performing team as well, what I am worried though is moving forward their roster as they seems to be having a problem with second stringers.
@@sudapornyodkaew898 yes, nothing new to the table, that's why they are strong but not enough when it comes to strong teams. I am not worried about their ticket to Olympics as I know they can, what I am worried though is if they can get a medal with a performance like this.

This year they're playing very well, serving and blocking with very efficient hands, and what about Groozer? What do you prefer, a brilliant 39-year-old or a 20-year-old ineffectual player?

Iam rooting for Italy, mens and womens team,, they played so great,, its okay if they lose,, it is normal, every team has it. And sure, Germany played better in those match. Both team are good.
Incredible the impact of an awesome reliable opposite, if only Brazil or Italy had an opposite like him. (Romano is mehh and Brasil have been struggling finding a good reliable opposite)
After defeating Brazil, Germany defeats the wirld champion. Grosser thought about retiring, but he pkaying grezt together with young tezm lates who are really imptoving, with a very good setter. Impressive !

Secondo me invece è Romanò che fa calare il livello di questa squadra, per me Zaitzev è assolutamente ancora il migliore Opposto italiano, con lui la squadra sarebbe più equilibrata e forte.
Eppure non è Romanò ad essere mancato ieri sera...se il regista (un campione, sia chiaro ) ha una serata no e lo so sostituisci tardi, tutto non gira.. letteralmente..e sono mancate anche le bande...e pure Balaso non era al suo solito....infine, non dimentichiamo che la Germania sta strainformissima, a fronte di un generale senso di stanchezza che vedo colpire i nostri....insomma, non è proprio proprio Romanò..poi, portare Zaytsev poteva essere utile, come cambio esperto, siamo d'accordo..
@@fabioarcutiGianelli non è al top dalla VNL e De Giorgi non vede la crescita esponenziale di Sbertoli già dai play off di Superlega. Non lo dico da tifoso della Trentino volley ma credo che dovrebbe essere inserito nella rosa titolare.

abbiamo criticato (giustamente secondo me) Mazzanti per le sue scelte, ma anche De Giorgi a volte mi sembra incaponirsi su delle scelte a mio avviso insensate.... perchè far giocare sempre gli stessi giocatori fino allo stremo? perchè non far ruotare le panchine? magari non quando la partita è già compromessa ma dall'inizio.... boh. Bravi cmq i tedeschi perchè non pensavo riuscissero a reggere il ritmo dopo la partita col Brasile

@@ustkaball479 Niemcy nie mają potencjału na wygrywanie turniejów jakichkolwiek. Niemcy to drużyna max na wchodzenie do 8 ME. Nie mówiąc o światowych turniejach. Niemcy mogą wygrać z najlepszymi, tylko wtedy jak np Włochy jest zmęczona lub ma jakieś inne problem. Co do Winiarskiego, to trenerem Polski będzie nie po Grbiciu, tylko po następnym szkoleniowcu.
Bucu, chodzi mi o to, że pora w końcu postawić na polskiego szkoleniowca. Bo ja nie widzę zagraniczniaka który zastąpiłby Nikolę, może Mendez z Argentyny, może Fin Sammelvuo i tyle...@@ustkaball479
