What an astonishing soundtrack !
There is no event anywhere on the planet that comes close to FOS .
Massive diversity from any era , complete petrol head heaven
I remember seeing that stp "wedge" turbine indycar for sale a couple of years ago at IMS. Going for around $1.5 million. Surely the coolest quiet car I've seen. The tires rolling on the ground are louder than the turbine itself.
Came for W125, have not found. Not disappointed at all ! Incredible videos, the quality is outstanding.
Oh sorry I thought there was one in there! Was it the W25 in that case? Anyway, glad you enjoyed it nonetheless :) Thank you very much for the kind words!
@@Retroschaft 0:43 ?
Motor racing is dope once addict its done!
3:21 : when you have a race but you need to dry laundry
Thank you for uploading bud. Loved it!
Great video. Love the screaming sound.
Awesome sounds as always! Nice vid.
Thanks!
The white car with a massive wing on the back cracks me up!🤪🛠
That ferrari gt sounds wonderful
Flagged for pornographic content
That’s the real glorious Goodwood. Horses can’t make this sound.
Wow. Awesome! What's the car from the rear at 0:33?
Engine music --- W25, Quattro, D50, F1 Dino -- you can keep the rest, they don't stir my soul
6:09 ...!?😳
What's that... thing?
Never seen before
The W25 though
The blue Audi's tweeting!
So where are all the bikes 🏍
There are some of the most beautiful sounds from the two wheel fraternity. Honda for example made music in all classes in the 1960’s, as did MV Augusta, Gilera, Benelli in all classes. Then the two strokes came on the scene from Japan in the 1970’s and then to the modern era, Ducati, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda. I know Honda brought and entire truck load of the sixties. 500cc 4 cylinder, 297cc 6 cylinder, 250cc 4 cylinder, 125cc 5 cylinder and 50cc two cylinder.. How about great video of these to compliment the car video please.
4 hater detected! Nice vid!
hi what name of the car in this youtube thumbnail
1937 Mercedes w125 👍 One of the most amazing cars ever built, for sure.
@@Retroschaft thank you so much. have a good day
Just a glorius example how F1 and motoracing used to sound unlike the Hybrid and Formula E sh!$t we have to put up with today. Long live these festivals please. More Alpha V6 will round this post off just fine
Gues wi i dont wach any (pseido modern) races
It all around garbage all plastic garbage

Simply amazing, this compilation. Thanks so much for uploading. Greetings from Germany.
0:42- love the whining noise of the supercharger!
those Auto Union and Mercedes 30s racers had the most awesome and brutal engine note ever!
@@Renegade666 I agree along with the incredible BRM V16!
It's crazy to think that something that old had a supercharger
1:38 I think he went over a squirrel hahaha
That Ferrari 250 GTO though
4:30 dat hat though....
Great upload! Hope you guys all liked the South African Audi at 1:37. I reckon it is likely a South African car due to the Engen sponsorship - Engen took over Mobil's assets here in the 1990s. Also, Southern Sun (the sponsor on the bumber) was a holiday resort group headquartered in South Africa - they're known as TsogoSun after a merger and are still headquartered in Johannesburg.
Timothy Hargreaves beautiful Audi
Is that the Lotus turbine Indycar 10:30?
Should have had captions with type of cars and year!
0:43 my favorite car
what is this car, the name ?
That's what racing cars should sound like!
poor 917/30 couldnt even go 30% throttle there lol
Where are the times when you could really experiment in all directions in professional racing? A Formula 1 car or Indy car with turbine drive would be absolutely unthinkable today.
Motorsport should be used to anticipate technical developments for the future and to test their suitability. In times like these even more than ever.
jim Hall was a genius with those chaparrals!
Of course. It is also one of MY favourite cars!
It pruned the trees on the way up!
5:10 sound's like Koenigsegg 😎
That McClaren had an all aluminum big block Chevy V8 with hilborn fuel injection.
the formula one thing's sound terrible,
5:20 sounds like a tractor puller when the turbo is spooling up before takeoff.
Very nice to see the ex Mansell Williams Renault being properly hammered. And the Ferrari 641. Perhaps the most ridiculous wing ever on car # 66 at 6:56.
Couldn't agree more! Thanks for watching :)
I could listen all day to the whistles and growls of the Audi at 1:37, too bad it didn't appear more :)
Thank you! Much more video quality than official footage
the Porsche can am car wow so mad
From the bottom of my black heart, thank you! :)
Hehe, you're welcome ;)
OMG!😍😍😍😍😍💯
Thanks for the upload HRHD, really good video!
Thank you! We're glad you enjoyed it :)
v10 f1 sound had to be the best !
IMSA Audi has best sounds by far.
4:29 if u pause here u see a dude with a big hat... too big
That Williams F1... Wow. Funny how 6 people clicked on a video about car noise and dont like it! Wierd
Personally speaking, I disliked it because there's not enough of what I look for in FoS vids. I came for neat old cars, and while there were in fact a few, the video was largely dominated by late '70s and newer F1/Indy styled cars with their exhaust notes that generally sound like a banshee dragging her nails on a chalkboard.
Just found this channel, great work
What was that car in11:34? Plz anyone know?
Alfa Romeo 155 DTM. Incredible sound!
Crazy sounds from cars *10:28* no sound 😄
Is there a wise car guru out there that could compile a list of these fine specimens?
I just like the video and the number of likes came to 787 !! l
Magic, real music!
Thanks
Mercedes W25 just woww likw an ww2 german airplane
Why "crazy" cars?
I have a couple questions. Say I were a decent racing driver. How would I go about getting to drive one of these very valuable racing cars without owning one? Would I need a collector friend? Do I pay the owner some money and he lets me take it out? Do the owners approach the drivers and ask them if they would like to drive their car? Do i still have to pay if the owner asked me? Can a regular person pay for a drive or is it racing drivers only? Lets say I'm out in your car, however that came about, and I clearly give it way too much hoof, spin off and rear end your Porsche 917K in to the hay bales. Who's paying? Does the owner have relevant insurance to cover the repairs? They will still feel that in the insurance premiums or missing no claims bonus, right? Or do I have to pay seeing as I ham footed it? If there is anyone who can answer these questions, please do as I am genuinely interested in some behind the scenes situations, and I have always wondered how these things get resolved in particular.
I think in general that really depends on who you are. I'm very sure that people like Derek Bell, Gijs van Lennep, etc. are invited to race certain cars as they are such legendary drivers that for the onwer, it's simply an honour to have them drive your car. I'm going to go out on a limp and suspect that you don't have such racing pedigree as a person and will have to start from 0. In that case I do think it's up to you to get acquainted with collectors or owners of rare cars that race during these events. Then you make a name for yourself in that world and off you go. I think it's fair to say that if you plan on driving many cars, and want to participate in many races with cars owned by other people, you'll have to be on a constant lookout for opportunities. It's probably a case of starting at the bottom and getting to the top as well. The insurance issue, I think, is something that'll be discussed from situation to situation. I don't think the drivers would even be allowed to race their cars if they aren't insured, but probably you, yourself, are going to need a professional insurance as well to make sure you're covered if something happens. Do realize that what I'm saying could be far from the truth, but that's just a feeling that I have based on being in and around these events for years. Hope it helps a bit and if anyone does have more (correct) info, feel free to comment!

What is the Alfa Romeo called at 11:10?
That would be an Alfa Romeo T33/3 'Longtail'
HistoricRacingHD Thankyou! and thankyou for the excellent footage!
1:38 best sound ever
I love the FOS so much I almost sold everything to buy John Surties MV Agusta from Peter Jones, wish I had as it went to the Barber for 100K more than I was offered.
Sadly, in years to come when all cars are electric you will just press select for your desired engine noise 😕
Nope wont happen and i have aeveral fundamentaly physicaly proofs and this doesnt let me down. Also here you see several over 50 year old cars and they still drive and will always drive if you maintain them.
The only ones who say that are those ilusionated Green-commie-extremists.
For my pard i drive my 18 year old bmw 325ci e46 when i was also 18 in 2013 its still my first car and i will drive it until the end of my life.
Its my dream car.
I spit on that E garbage.
