"I've just done a big one... hill, that is..." - found that far to funny! The hut with steps is clearly a lifeguard lookout for when sea levels rise - the downs being a great place to look out over the south east UK sea! Enjoying the series
Nothing like an epic walk for sense of achievement and pride in your stamina. I did easy versions, along canals. Perfect for avoiding hills! Beautiful glimpse into the route - Thanks for sharing Marek and clear to see why you are the leader of the Cool Dudes Walking Club!
Really loving your distance travelled bench vacating proposal. It's a bit like my distance travelling on public transport, the people who are going furthest get to sit first. Great day three vid. This daily dose of Marek is rather wonderful. Yay! Cheers me dears :)
@@cdwc Most definitely. Marek for mayor! I'd say prime minister but at the moment I think that must be a bit like torture and we obviously don't want that.
Very tempting to copy this walk - thanks for posting. Btw, the link to the spork goes to the sleeping bag! That beautiful harp piece was well-chosen, Marek.
Hi there, im really enjoying this series, going to watch all of them as im planning to do this walk once things open up. BUT I want to pick out one thing you said I think in the first video that you are 44 and have about 10 years left to hike. Unless you have a specific health issue this isnt true. I know many hikers and can tell you there are people in their late 70s tearing up and down the most brutal mountains in scotland and smashing out some serious mileages. Im about the same age as you but speaking to much older hikers they basically tell me the same thing, what you do in your 40s will be what carries with you through the next 30 years. So the goal is to spend your 40s becoming a hiker and then dont stop. One thing I noticed among older people that hike regularly and well is that no one ever told them to slow down so they never did. Anyway all the best and looking forward to more videos from you, about to subscribe, sorry for long comment but I dont think you should just let society dictate what you become.
I used everything in my pack so I don't know how these people get it so light. I suppose my camera stuff weighs about 750g. But the ultra ultra light stuff costs about a million pounds.
@@cdwc Yeah it is expensive, also it's pretty flimsy sometimes so definitely doubts on longevity too. I get mine to around 12-13kg, that's with no camera gear though. Having a water filter helps so you don't have to carry too much water with you but lowland water sources can be too grim for that
Sticking Spit Bottom, I believe, is what occurs after multiple nights of dining on camping meals! I remember that hill from the very start - the South Downs love those! Seems like you were enjoying the walk more by this point, even with the heavier pack. Looking forward to Part 4. All the best.
Such beautiful views all the way around! The breath of fresh air (except when you're walking up a hill)...lol. There would definitely have to be a couple more benches because, if I sat on the ground to take a break, I'd never get back up again lol. Just tie me to a sheep and have it drag me up a hill and then give me a swift push to roll me down the other side lol.
Brilliant. My new insult that can be used in the presence of children is 'oi mate, your dad a was a badger!'. I think your next stretch is the area I have mountain biked, some stunning views, weather permitting. Cool dude #123
These have been great Marek. I’m truly enjoying it. Maybe more than you enjoyed doing it. No hills or heavy backpacks while watching. Bliss. “It’s actually a funeral. I got mixed up.” 😆👍 You really radiated the hate for the three people on the bench. Your lips got really peachy pink the longer you’d been walking.
They're bird watching hides. Probably maintained by the RSPB. The weather is starting to warm up Down Under so I might be able to start being an active Cool Dude soon.
I think you are right. Most of my comments aren't factually correct. I googled it and definitely looked like a sugar beet. I did not know what one was.
@@cdwc Nice one cool dude. My elderly parents will be super pleased as she’s just moved back in with them after her first time in her own apartment for 6 months at 48 years old. I’ll have her shipped over soon. Lucky you, your lawns will look lovely. She does them with her teeth.

I bet I just missed Pamela Anderson running across the South Downs.

Thanks Cool Dude. Any more than three hills in one day then I start to struggle.
Watching these for the second time...these are strangely addictive😆 Love the music used too. Cool due #183.
Watch them one million times and never skip the ads.
These longer walks are fun to watch. where you not tempted to bring a small art set and do a 15 minute painting of the landscape ?
Yes I was tempted and then I weighed my pack. It was either that or the camera.

Yes someone in government needs to listen to our new seating rule proposals.

Yet another entertaining and enjoyable video. Badgers and sheep! I shudder to think😀👍. ATB
Thanks Jim. The badger only gets worse as the walk goes on.
Very tempting to copy this walk - thanks for posting.

Nice one. Spork link fixed thanks.
We stayed in foxly barn it is a lovely camp site. X
The owners are so nice.
@@cdwc they really are. We stopped there on our hike down the southdowns it was so hard to leave. X
The hut could be a hunters hide. Great video
That or a bird watching hut some people say.
Thanks for the walk and film mate. Nicely edited xxx

Thanks dude. I was just being pessimistic. Hopefully I will be able to hike until I am 56. Stay cool and good luck with the hikes.
Really enjoying these mate, I feel your pain with that heavy pack

Yes oddly I found my walking legs a bit when I went on. I think the first day I was just worried whether I could physically do it.

This is a great plan. I should start training those badger sheep to help me.
@@cdwc They looked friendly enough lol...
Looks like a hunters hut. Not my thing, but it could also be bird watching. Much more my style haha

There were tonnes of mountain bikers. I can't believe the speed some people go.

I still have hatred for the bench people. They overtook me about five minutes before when I stopped to have a drink of water. I HATE THEM.
@@cdwc 😆😆😆😆 maybe they knew about the bench 🤷♀️
I think the bird is a Kite, they have a very distinct triangular tail. Nice one cool dude !
Ahhh yes. I think I got zero facts right in this video.
I emailed you a drawing. Great video, really enjoying it.
Got it. Thanks dude.
Well now I want to go camping...

Curry before a long walk, he lives on the edge!
I did not have the curry. Don't worry.
@@cdwc shame probably would have doubled the 2mph average.
And onto day three...rewatching. The case of the repeating meme #Badger #Sheep and the heavy load.
Genuinely surprised the day walkers vs thru-hikers divide has never resulted in bloodshed, particularly over bench rights.
I agree they should have seen the size of my bag and immediately moved.
One of those sheep looks exactly like my sister. Beard and all.
I want to marry your sister.

Maybe you could get a trolley with wheels then you wouldn't have to carry your backpack, just a thought
Push a trolley 100 miles?
Is it going to get all Blair Witch now ? In a tent. At night. In the dark. With a curry.
Did they have curry in Blair Witch?
That is where it all started to go wrong - had they had a ruby there would have been no messy runny noses.
Do you want a date?
I want to get married immediately.
