Every time I watch a CineFix top ten i'm like "need to watch that, need to watch that, oh yeah that was a great movie, need to watch that..."
I was about to type the same .... and then I saw your comment.
Hahaha true.
hahah....totally agree!
That's the truth!!!!
and need to watch it again.
Christoph Waltz in Inglorious Basterds has to be my favourite casting of all time. He was just some Austrian bilingual guy who happened to read some lines for Tarantino, and behold he had discovered one of the greatest actors of the last decade.
yea
+Håvard Antonsen totally agree, he was the absolute perfect man for the role
+Håvard Antonsen Exactly right, I think that Tarantino even said that he was not going to make Inglourious Basterds because he couldn't find anyone that could play the role. That was until they came across Christoph Waltz
So true, I loved him even more in django. I know that maybe the more unpopular opinion.
I do agree with you 500%.... I was waiting to see if Christoph Waltz
was on here.
Vivien Leigh in Gone with the wind. An unknown British actress who beat everyone imaginable for the role, carried a 4 hour film and won an Oscar.
I'm as surprised as you are not seeing her on the list.
Most listings are the opinion of the person who puts it together... Could turn out to be great and you like it.. Or... It could turn it to be shit n you hate it.... I've got to agree with you on "gone with the wind" tho
Gone with the wind is boring as fuck.
so fucking is boring for you...replace ya partner ASAP
Vivien Leigh as an actress doesn’t do anything for me, BUT as Scarlet she did everything for me . Lol. Sheer BRILLIANCE. Brilliant. Imagine watching a movie mesmerized by a character you don’t even like, nor are remotely attracted to, (wink)but can’t take your eyes off of.
12 angry men changed my whole life when I saw it decades ago. I taught me to question everything and not follow just because it may be the popular choice. He never said the boy was innocent but just questioned everything until he changed everyone’s perception. That’s powerful!
Yeah all that - and you can be the only person that made a diference
OMG I agree. I saw this film for a communications class when I decided to return to school. I agree with you. I can't help to quote the great American comedian George Carlin when he said: "Don't just teach your children how to read, teach them to question what they read. Teach them to question Everything! Amen.
I first saw the movie when I was still in high school. It taught me the real meaning of "reasonable doubt." I still consider it one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. I watch it every chance I get.
@@mepulley7913 Sadly, critical thinking seems to have fallen by the wayside.
@@karenshaw7807 - Most definitely true.
In the platonic category, Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins in The Shawshank Redemption.
And that Greaser guy too, but I forgot his name.
It is hard to find another great pair of actors that were cast together that just wouldn't work with anyone else that Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman in Shawshank
Hell yeah
Good call.
What about The Rock and Kevin Heart?!
For years people have been campaigning to get best casting as an award at the academy. The excuse for rejection is always that the they're (the casting agent) just doing what the director wants. But does that not define every award given by the academy? Acting is a craft, but casting, is absolutely an art!
John Milton Casting directors are almost always women. The Oscars are still pretty much an old boys' club, so...
It would be nice to see that.
Plus, I think it takes time to appreciate casting. It takes time to appreciate many of the skill position in a movie, but casting is a referendum on both the casting director and the actors.
Is there a seperate institution that gives an award for casting?
I'm for that. Making a movie is, by necessity, a team effort, but they still individually recognise the composer, cinematographer, and so on.
The amazing thing about Charlize Theron’s Aileen Wuornos was how likable she made her. I found myself having to remind myself that she was a serial killer. It’s actually almost heart-wrenching when the end we all knew was coming.
North Counrty. She's always great but the unflinching reality of an outsider in a man's world who was real, not haloed...unflinching portrayal.
MUCH respect for Ms Theron, AMAZING transformation and portrayal, I STILL get emotional when I think about the story, the character, and how Charlize's performance made one care about her.
Can't say I found her character likeable, but certainly she elicited sympathy as a broken human being.
There she looks like Jon Voight's daughter
Way more then Angelina haha
The problem with that pick is it's in the category for someone portraying a person everyone knows in real life.....which TBH I had no idea who this person was. If it wasn't for this movie, I never would've even heard the name Aileen Wuornos. Should've picked Jamie Foxx for Ray.
Jack Nicholson in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"
Jeff Bridges was not the big Lebowski, he's just the dude, man.
Yeah, that annoyed me. Could've said The Dude or just the word "In" and all would've been saved/avoided. Ugh
That rug really tied the room together...Like Jeff did the movie
El dude a reno
Hey man watch the beverage.
Kory's Rides it’s cool man, The Dude Abides
J.K. Simmons in Whiplash I think deserves a mention. He's the first character I've seen in a long while that has evoked such deep hatred in me.
Funny, because he played an even WORSE character on the TV series "Oz": a murderous neo-nazi.
I feel like he was even better as J Jonah Jameson. So good no other Spiderman movie has even attempted to find a replacement.
Jack Gleeson in Got aswell
Massive Douche He should really get recast as JJ if they decide to bring him back
@@megamegapop12 You were sayin' ? ;d
I would have also added that Robin Williams was perfect for his role in Good Morning Vietnam
Absolutely!
Robin Williams is almost always perfect casting. The man played a murderer and made me interested in late night calls.
Edward Norton in Primal Fear for epic debut.
Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting for against-type.
R.B was talented in Drama & Comedy (e.g Dead Poets Society)
I actually preferred his dramas ( comedies were amazing, dramas were better) What dreams, dead poets and awakenings are all fabulous!!
Was waiting for Robin Williams to be mentioned for GWH. Also Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man
Morgan Freeman as Red in The Shawshank Redemption? Possibly the best narrated film ever for that simple casting choice.
@primo _ While i love Shawshank... End of Watch was heartbreaking and amazingly great.
In the book Red was Irish that was why he was called red.
@@AnnaLVajda I know. I've read the book. It's quite good.
overthier I cryed because I was happy for the characters at the end of Shawshank
Spielberg putting Whoopie Goldberg, a young comedian, into the lead character of his drama, The Color Purple was certainly one of the wisest, if not most brilliant Casting Choices in film.
And that movie was also a great ensemble piece. Who was not crying a river when the daughter entered her father's church, singing to him?
Get your Kleenex. We're watching The Color Purple.
@@melvina628 Agreed but....when Celies children came home the river turned into a torrent! It's 1985. I'm 20 years old on a date trying to get my mack daddy on and end up sobbing like a girlie boy. When a film does THAT to you it's good. 😎
Indeed! This is a great example of an actor playing against type.
@@melvina628 I cry every time I see that scene
Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. It's why Johnny Depp's version fell so hopelessly flat.
Definitely. I actually enjoy Depp's acting but he'll never top the original.
johnny depp could do gene wilder's willy wonka, but could gene wilder do johnny depp's wonka? this is the true question to be asking
No, Johnny Depp's $20k a day wine habit is what makes ALL of his versions fall flat. He's like Robert Shaw in Jaws except he hasn't apologized for anything yet. Remember that in the Pirates movies he was often SO drunk on set that he had to have a special earpiece with a PA feeding him lines.
Wilder's Wonka is indeed awesome casting. But to even mention Depp in the same breath is sacrilege.
They completely forgot about Sean Connery for James Bond. Literally one of the most iconic characters ever!
Rest in Peace!
@@georgestanton9703 For real! As if 2020 wasn't bad enough already
I think it's a great casting but non a great decision, everyone would have suggested him for the role
John Malkovich in Being John Malkovich
He really nailed the mannerisms and voice.
lol that's cheating.
Maybe. But I keep wondering where Bale or Day-Lewis could have taken it.
I got an ad with John Malkovich before this video.
I still want to see a remake of that movie called Tyler Perry's Being Tyler Perry
Kathy Bates from Misery should have been on the list or at least mentioned.
Kathy Bates as Dolores Claiborne was even better.
@@texasred2702 That is a great movie and she is outstanding in it.
@@dalekdx she's pretty great in most everything she is in.
Good ol' Memphis gal that Kathy Bates. 😎
The trouble is with lists on the net is that there’s always someone you inevitably miss out then get called out for it by some faceless joker.
Charlize's performance was absolutely perfect & flawless.
The Henry Fonda reveal scene in Once Upon A Time In The West is just perfect
Johnny depp in pirates of the Caribbean. He took a risk and made the character quirky and funny and it wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for him.
Jack sparrow is so iconic
fun fact - Disney absolutely hated him for it, but he stuck with it cos he knew he was on to something.
kayelle x - I remember when my wife & I saw the first movie of the series in the theatre, partway through the movie I leaned over, and whispered in her ear, “He’s (Depp) imitating Keith Richards”. I later saw an interview where JD said he based his characterization on Keith Richards, and Pepe LaPew, the lovestruck cartoon skunk. So I was half right. lol
@@kato64 I love that you noticed that while watching it👌🏻😊
Christopher Reeves is perfect in Superman. The only actor that has managed to portray Clark Kent, Kal-el and Superman as truly distinctive yet all aspects of the same person
Excellent.
Yeeeeeees
He made Superman smart, not just heroic.
IMO Cavill did the same....just lukewarm direction
I know these aren’t films but James Gandolfini as Tony Soprano and Jon Hamm as Don Draper are both examples of perfect casting.
Jon Hamm was born to play Don Draper.
I'll just leave this here... Say my name?
@@drtenma3744 you're goddamned right
The casting in "Jaws" is PERFECTION.
Absolutely. One of the best trios I've ever seen.
OMG yes - that was missed on this list as well.
Where is Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa?
OMG yes. The look on his face just after he accuses Perrier LaPadite of hiding the Dreyfusses/"enemies of the state" after seeming so friendly and nonchalant beforehand ... chills man. So perfect. A crime he doesnt get a shout out here.
For fucking real though!
Pretty much every role he plays makes it difficult to conceive of anyone else doing it.
Yes yes yes
Travolta in Pulp Fiction resurrected a career and changed filmmaking forever, probably worth a mention.
I think his role in Hairspray was an even more inspired choice.
All that was due to Rodriguez and Tarantino.
fact - Daniel day Lewis wanted to play that character but Tarantino refused to cast him.....
Sakshi Singh why? Day-Lewis can transform into an role. And you might not even recognize him sometimes
Written for Michael Madsen, and Butch for Mickey Rourke.
In my opinion, "Glengarry Glen Ross" has the best ensemble casting of all time. Every character was distinct, and the actors all came together to make a gem of a movie. Even when I saw the Broadway production years later (with different actors) it paled in comparison.
It was EXCELLENT.
Thank you, forgot this one and you're totally right, especially considering how diverse they all are as actors.
Blazing saddles Cleavon Little and Gene Wilder’s chemistry is amazing
Casting an unknown Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind was the greatest casting decision. The search for Scarlett went on forever and it seemed lije Selznick wasn't even satisfied with his finalists. Pre-production already commenced when Selznick's brother introduced Leigh to him. The rest is history. I can't believe these guys overlooked this.
Seemed like everyone was expecting it to go to Bette Davis after she was in Jezebel
And while we're on Vivien Leigh: BLANCHE FUCKING DUBOIS!
Totally!! They spent 3 years looking for Scarlett and ALL actrices in Hollywood wanted to be her! This page knows nothing
Going to the UK looking for acting talent is a long tradition in Hollywood.
Julie Andrews in Mary Poppins... Disney took a chance on her, and this was her first film and she won the Oscar! Definitely should be on this list!
Weird to think that marry popping won the same award as Gone with the wind and silence of the lambs
@@nateds7326
I get what you're saying, but Mary Poppins is kind of iconic.
It wasn't like this was her first job though, she had been on broadway before that
The same thing happened with Eva-Marie-Saint in “On The Waterfront”
Julie Andrews success didn't surprise anyone who had seen her on stage in My Fair Lady.
NOT casting her for Eliza Dolittle was one of the most stupid casting mistakes in history.
Audrey Hepburn was not convincing in the role, and needed the singing to be entirely dubbed.
#1: Charlize in MONSTER. #2: Hopkins in Silence ofvthe Lambs
I also liked Sylvester Stallone holding out to cast himself as Rocky AND a young Dustin Hoffman over Robert Redford in the Graduate.
Yep
CRISTOPH WALTZ AS HANS LANDA
That's a bingo.
This times a million
Jupp!
I just wanted to look up Waltz name but yes, Hans Lauda is acted so good by Cristoph Waltz
Thank fuck he survived that movie
I think Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn and Alan Rickman as Snape should have been in the list.
Dion7 Alan Rickman was way too old for the role of Snape but except that he was perfect
Alan Rickman also deserves it for Die Hard. Alan Rickman was just fucking awesome.
Both examples of great casting to be sure. I would also add Ian McKellen as Gandalf and Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka.
I don't think Alan Rickman's was a good Snape. I think he was a terrific actor, but not a good Snape.
+Segundo Gelos Yeah, after I posted this I started wondering why I mentioned Alan Rickman. He was a great actor and he played a great Snape, but it was a very different Snape than in the books. He's more likeable, and doesn't flip out like he does in the books. The books also show his bitterness and his bullying, while in the movies he just hits Harry on the head a few times. It's a great performance, just not very true to the books.
Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music!
Bill Murray in Lost in Translation. That role was practically him.
Well wouldnt that make it one of the easiest casting..?
Like perhaps Christopher Lee as Saruman...
I mean... who else?
Christoph Waltz- Inglourious Basterds/ Django Unchained
Javier Bardem- No Country For Old Men
J.K Simmons- J Jonah Jameson
Jamie Foxx- Ray Charles
Jim Carrey- Truman Burbank
Tom Hanks- Forrest Gump
Robert De Niro- Jake Lamotta
Jake Gyllenhaal- Lou Bloom
Johnny Depp- Jack Sparrow
Hugh Jackman- Wolverine
Waltz/Jew Hunter and Ledger/joker show have definitely been on the list,
Ryan Reanolds - Deadpool?
Rob 56 read the first one
Dan Roland he was good and he was hilarious but greatest casting choices of all time? I think there's better casting choices that had more risk and better pay off
jk simmons/whiplash
I think Tom Hanks as Forest Gump deserves at least a shout out.
I love Tom Hanks but I hated Forrest Gump.
I agree. He made you feel like there really was a Forest Gump.
Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about the line "is he smart, or"
Sir Alec Guinness in The Bridge on the River Kwai - proving the merits of the perfect choice over the 'bankable star" (Holden)
And as Obi Wan. Didn't like or really "get" the film, but who else could have played it that well? (I'm talking about during that time, of course.) He gave it everything the roll needed.
When you said "Bringing Up Baby "... I smiled. I loved that movie as a kid. My grams played it a lot.
Charles Dance as Tywin Lannister was incredible. He commanded every scene he was in.
Jacob McCann except that scene where he got an arrow through his heart on the shitter
@CatsAndDrums1971 Yeah if TV also counted, then I think that the best chemistry should've gone to John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer in The Office. Now I have never watched anything from The Before Trilogy, but if you've seen The Office then you know what I mean.
If we're talking TV, we'd have to give props to whoever said "You know the dad from 'Malcolm In The Middle?' I want to cast him as a sociopathic meth dealer. That makes sense, right?"
I agree,, but in retrospect after watching the 1st season again. It was a very overrated show. Some of the actors were chosen for their looks. Jon snow & Daenerys r really poorly acted.
I don't send fan mail, but I sent a letter to Michelle Clapton casting director for Game of Thrones.
So many perfect calls.
The only bad one was Aryia, ok actress but she didn't seem like tom boy or a mini Lyanna Stark, other than that everyone was just about perfect.
JK Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson.
100% this. JJJ was alive.
he was to good that screw chracter for future live action movies
Willem dafoe in “The Lighthouse” was brilliant, accent and all.
There should’ve definitely been a mention for Superbad in the #5 place. It’s always the very first film I think of when the subject of “buddy-films” comes to mind-and Michael Cera and Jonah Hill display the ups and downs of highschool friendships with so much ease that it comes off documentary-like rather than fiction.
I think casting John Travolta as Vincent Vega should at least deserve an honorable mention here.
Or Samuel L Jackson as Jules Winfield.
Nagnullat that doesn't really count because Tarantino wrote that role specifically for him
Bálint Ujvári yeah. There to the studio didn't want Travolta. they said he washed up but Tarantino fought him and was he ever vindicated
yup!!!
Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction
Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood
Javier Bardem in No Country For Old Men
Jack Nicholson in The Shinning
Dustin Hoffman in The Graduate
yes
yes
yes
yes
aaaannnnddd YES!
DDL gets so much praise for There will be blood and rightfully so but to me it honestly wouldn't be the same without Paul Dano
+octavio echeverria
those are just actors who did a phenomenal job playing those roles. I dont know if the casting choice was so perfect though. Probably different actors couldve played those roles, but it's just hard to imagine
+octavio echeverria RDJ for Iron Man
*****
anyone can play a rich asshole. Nothing special, he just worked
Robert Shaw as Quint, in “JAWS” anyone??
💯perfect
You beat me to it! Robert Shaw was the best part of Jaws.
The mother from Requiem For A Dream that got hooked on speed. Now that was something
She's Ellen Burstyn
A Name You Can't Remember Ellen Burstyn was amazing indeed
@@pkdude5334 “I’m somebody now Harry, everybody likes me.”
"And you got Marky Mark teaching everyone new swearing words." Hahahaha
"In the role he was born to play."
This is among the best things ever said.
End of watch is one of the few films where i cried.
omg same dude
+Nicolas Cage Who are you?
same
2 Cages.. This goan be gud.
What ending did you see? I think there's 3
Charlize and Patty’s accomplishment with “Monster” grows only more impressive when you actually see Aileen in Nick Broomfield’s documentaries. They perfectly captured her as a person.
The cast of John Carpenter's "The Thing". Not saying it's Oscar material but a great group of actors that play well off of each other, and are all memorable in some way.
Sylvester Stallone as Rocky. The studio wanted the script but Stallone would only sell it if he got to play the lead role. It was a gamble that paid off for all of us.
Robin Williams was exceptional when he was cast in a serious role. I could not stomach watching him in a comedy situation because of this repeated phrases that went from one movie to the next and his hyperactivity, but the serious roles were amazing!
Awakenings with Robert Deniro is my favorite.
Loved him with Al Pacino in Insomnia. Playing a murderer was so against type & he did it brilliantly.
@@stevemcnary4301 Agreed. The guy was really talented. I also enjoyed One Hour Photo and The Final Cut. He was great at playing creepy dudes.
I've never understood all the accolades for Mark Wahlberg in The Departed. He's good, but I didn't think he was great - he's over-acting imo. What am I missing??
I think he is perfect for that role, Leo on the other hand...
Yeah he is almost doing a parody Boston accent. Are:. Ahhhh rahh
Nothing actually.
Exactly, you're missing anything of substance. He played the version of himself in another "reality" had he not had a career in entertainment. His acting leaves room for much needed improvement. Finally someone saw the over-acting in the film also.
Seconded
Johnny Depp as Sparrow, Alan Rickman as Snape, Downey Jr as Stark, Evans as Cap
Charlize Theron was awesome as Aileen Wornous.
Starsk25 She was the best!
Reminds me of my next-door neighbour. Totally accurate portrayal.
Yikes
You barely see Christina Ricci mentioned when Monster comes up but she was really fucking good too
She will always be the underrated actress, unfortunately..
It’s a Mad,Mad,Mad,Mad World! Thank you for bringing back a moment of my childhood. Sitting in the living room with my parents and sister, eating TV dinners, and watching this as the Saturday evening movie. Came on about once a year in the 70’s.
I really hope heath ledger as joker is on here.
This is hard to narrow into 10. Good list. I'll just add a couple I like. Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice and Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman.
These lists are so great. It's clear you guys obviously have a very deep care for film making
this is WHY i love cinefix instead of watchmojo, looper and other channel that do top 10 lists
+Tiago V.S. looper! lol I watched ONE video of that channel and cringed the whole time. never again!
I think the greatest casting of all time was Pulp Fiction. That movie almost saved John Travoltas career, and basically launched Samuel Jacksons career, who today, is the highest grossing actor of all time. Uma Thurman, Bruce Willis, Ving Rhames, Harvey Keitel, Tarantino himself, just a dynamite cast in a spectacular film.
Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch. What casting could possibly be more perfect than that?
a shout out to RDJ casted as Tony Stark/Iron Man
a shout out to the whol MCU. they made 99% perfect casting choices
Leonard Fahrwald
Curious who's your 1%? if they are small roles don't bother but if it's a big role I'd like to know.
I'm guessing Don Cheadle is one?
I personally don't like the new spider man (civil war) It's like they made spider man 5 years younger.I understand that he's supposed to be youthful and naive but it doesn't match up with the other spidermen :/ Perhaps it's not supposed to?
No. Just no
As far as I could tell, he was about the same age as the peter parker in the original spiderman comics...in the comics, peter parker was in high school. His nemesis was Flash Thompson...who I don't believe has ever made an appearance in any of the on screen spidermans.
Jim Carrey as Joel Barish in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (against type)
And now Adam Sandler as Howard Ratner in Uncut Gems
@@alan-nt5pz Adam Sandler has done dramatic work in the past
@@MrKJ444 oh definitely, i love the meyerowitz stories, punch-drunk love, and reign over me, but Adam Sandler typically stars in comedies
Also Jim Carrey in Man on the Moon
Agreed
Marissa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny was perfection.
You guys aren't just the best list makers on YT, I also always learn something from your video's everytime I watch, Thank you! A great choice for no1, 12 angry men is probably one of my all-time favorites, it´s one of those films I introduce everyone I know to
JK Simmons as J Jonah Jameson
This list is shit anyways
+Josh Lee YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
+Josh Lee No one in the world will ever be a better choice than JK Simmons as J Jonah Jameson.
+Josh Lee That's not my tempo
Josh Lee eh
How could you not mention Kathy Bates in misery or Michael Clarke Duncan in the green mile?
Kathy Bates in just about anything she's been in. With her, it's pretty much to the point that casting her in anything is a great casting decision, but hardly a brilliant one.
How can you miss "The Longest Day" for a fabulous ensemble cast: John Wayne, Kenneth More, Richard Todd, Robert Mitchum, Richard Burton, Steve Forrest, Sean Connery, Henry Fonda, Red Buttons, Peter Lawford, Eddie Albert, Jeffrey Hunter, Stuart Whitman, Tom Tryon, Rod Steiger, Leo Genn, Gert Fröbe, Irina Demick, Bourvil, Curd Jürgens, George Segal, Robert Wagner, Paul Anka, and Arletty.
Thank you so much for including It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World! It’s one of my all-time favorite movies with one of the best movie casts of all time!!
what about Marion cotillard for her role as Edith piaf?
omg yes
What movie is this?
la vie en rose (2007)
oh...absolutely
Absolutely!!! Thank you!!!
Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch
Word. He's one of my favorite actors. If you get a chance, watch him in Roman Holiday. I have watched it so many times. The first several times, I mostly watched the incandescent Audrey Hepburn. Then I started to watch him, and I couldn't believe how wonderful he was. Great comic timing. Anyway, I agree.
"Stand up Scout! Your father is passing. "
The Great Escape as an ensemble cast had the ability to give each heavyweight actor his due and yet was so close to actual events that former prisoners had flashbacks.
Liam Neeson in Schindler's List and Malcolm McDowell in a clockwork orange
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
Find a role that wasn't perfectly cast (even casting real patients and doctors) in that film; I believe an even better casting than The Departed.
the movie was perfectly cast
I was thinking either that or Nicholson as Jack Torrance.
Nicholson as Jack Torrance just played himself from different movies of him. It wasn't a perfect casting
True - an absolutely flawlessly cast movie, and with a significant cast too.
I agree .. OFOTCN is briliant. but. if you cast real people playing themselves. isn't it a documentary :) good film tho. Nurse R where are you when we need you.
Anything or anyone that can convincingly unite '12 Angry Men', and 'It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World' is a friend of mine.
Malcolm McDowell. Clockwork Orange. Game over man, game over.
Whoever casted The Outsiders was on the ball in terms of an ensemble of future talent. And for a completely different era, everyone in The Philadelphia Story is a spot on casting choice. Ditto for All About Eve.
On that same note, what about the original Red Dawn? Yes, it's a cheesy popcorn movie, but every single one of the Wolverines (well, except one -- the traitor kid who gets offed along with the Russian guy in the snow) was a legit star who could carry a film as a lead actor.
Jim Carrey in Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind as Joel barish
And The Number 23. That made him a serious actor in my book
I'd have said The Truman Show. And Robin Williams in Dead Poets Society. Both by Peter Weir. Both with comic actors giving stellar dramatic performances.
Funny, I was going to comment how Jim Carrey in Ave Ventura should be in the Top 50. I don't think anyone else could have pulled off that role and his acting is actually really good in it - especially when he plays the mentally-damaged ex-football player in the ballerina outfit at the mental health institution. When he does the physical rewind, that's some of the best, most unique, acting I've seen.
absolutely, who saw jim in that is a genius
Slogan for this channel. "quality over quantity". One of the best top lists on RUclips for me. Very good video as always.
Considering how many actresses try to get the role of Scarlett O'hara I found weird that Vivien Leigh is not mention
Cool video. Crazy seeing all the old stars together.
The before trilogy is severely underrated...love those movies so much!
Devon Connelly they're not underrated
I feel the same. When I come across Before Sunrise, I always, always watch it. I haven't seen the 3rd one yet though.
Johnny Depp- Jack Sparrow
I have not looked at pirates the same since
Johnny Depp as Duke in Fear and Loathing :)
Killerkram Lastname t as, JOHNNY DEPP ALL THE WAY
Now they're making one without him
I know in one comment in 3k but I really like the format of this top 10. Every number it’s own mini cross category. It shows real knowledge of the topics at hand given plenty of space for opinion and recognition/mentions. Well done
The production value of this video is like 400% compared to other channels. Well done! Very good compilation and perspectives.
Jean Reno and Natalie Portman.
Leon the Professional.
Yup. Charlize Theron acted her butt off in “Monster”!
