BANG !!! Love the box art and the diorama . Will look great on display . This is mayhaps the most iconic vehicle . It will always be my fave Batmobile .Thanks for the show .
Compare the box to the original and the box looks like it has been in the sun for a year it also feels like plastic , the door badges and the wheels are nothing like the original ones , the lapel badge is not like the original its just a nasty cheap Chinese copy of a once stunningly beautiful toy I wasted my money
1966 was a good year for myself and best mate as 10 year olds. He got the Batmobile and I got James Bond's DB5 for Christmas. He no longer has his Batmobile but I have the DB5 still with only the tyres replaced. I also still have the Heinkel bubble car from childhood.
Another excellent review Jules. Like every other subscriber to the Corgi Model Club this is the one we've all been waiting for. Unfortunately, I'm away from home at the moment so my gloss version should be waiting for me when I get home. Indeed, by then I should also have the matt subscribers version also waiting for me. I must say, as this is my first view of the Corgi Model Clubs Batmobile, apart from the vehicle itself, the instructions, rockets on the sprue and lapel sticker are amazing nostalgia hits. The memories from being 10 years old again in 1966 came flooding back. I had forgotten about the lapel sticker but I now I remember actually wearing mine on my school blazer back in the day.
That's incredible, the CMC have delivered on this truly iconic model. My original was in the 70's and I'm sure it didn't have the sticker. I'm happy to have the Matt black one as well as part of the subscription but I'll need to buy the later version from Corgi to get the one I had as a kid. 🙂
I bought one. I have an original 1978 267 in pristine condition. I always kept it in the box. My Grandmother bought it for me in June 1978. I'll do a side-by-side comparison vid right here on my 1966 Batman Channel And More when the new 267 arrives! Great vid thanks for sharing.
I have this on order and really can't wait. I'm nearly 66 now and had the original (gloss) version when I was a kid - I wish I still did! Somewhere around the house I have one that I picked up off eBay, complete with chipped paint etc. I'm really looking forward after all these years to having a pristine copy in my collection. I have several 1966 Batmobiles in various scales and with greater or lesser degrees of detail, from a number of companies and I love them all, but this is a direct copy of the first I ever owned and it will take pride of place.
These are outstanding. I hope they also make the Green Hornet's Black Beauty in the same '60s retro vibe including the packaging and artwork from the '60s Corgi era like this Batmobile. Awesome.
@@JulesBurt For sure, they go hand in hand with the Batmobile. I know so many who are hoping this one also gets recreated. Thank you for your reply. :)
A marvellous model. Mine arrived on Friday and I'm delighted with it. All those memories from 1966 came flooding back and for a short while, this old bloke, rushing towards his 70th birthday in a couple of weeks, felt twelve again! I'm not a member of the club but 'dip in' for certain models. This will go on display with my other TV/Movie related vehicles, including the James Bond DB5 and The Saint's Volvo. Fingers crossed that they get the rights to do the Man From U.N.C.L.E. Oldsmobile.
Can you believe I love the vintage packaging on these more than the cars themselves? I think I still have all my original 60’s release Corgi models (at my Mom’s house attic!), but the packaging is long gone, I’m sure. Maybe that’s why it’s so attractive to me now? ❤
@@JulesBurt The attic in my Mom’s house is very hard to navigate into or I would go there next visit. The entrance is a small panel in the wall of a linen closet behind the closet shelves! Difficult and spooky to access!
Wish I could get a hold of a few of those crystal clear screens. The repro ones on ebay are pretty bad.Mine's arriving at the end of the month apparently. If I'd have ordered a couple of days earlier I'd have gotten it this week.I might stick an original on the display plinth and play with the new one.😂
I no longer collect corgi cars except for American fire engines but how do you not purchase this.its stunning.still waiting for my order to arrive though
I’ve pre-ordered mine 😄… never had one when I was young in the 70’s but always wanted one… along with the boat! P.s the shipping cost more than the actual model!! $50 GBP to NZ 😢
The Dick Grayson howler is inexcusable on something clearly aimed at perfectionist collectors. And the most recent Batman film took nearly $800m world-wide...I'd say Batman is still a pretty hot property!
This is not the first time such an error has made it onto the certificates. They really should reach out to a few established and knowledgeable collectors to check this stuff first.
@CardiffOneOne Of course! Someone messaged me through Facebook and said that the post they left in their page, highlighting the error, was removed. It's not like you can hide such a mistake, although when I was filming I didn't pick up on it, only playing it back during the edit. If anything, it'll make it MORE collectible🤣
Hi I am a bit confused, you said there are 3 versions - but I can only see the "Gloss" and "Matt" versions being sold by Corgi (one regular and one by the model club) so what is the 3rd one?
Thanks! The matt version I think is out before the end of the year. Pretty sure you don't have to be a member of the CMC to get one, the 70's window box version is available for pre-order now.
@@JulesBurt Thanks and that whould be great! I saw it standing #43 in their list so I thought (as it said) for members only. I do not see the window box version pre order on their website..are you sure? Thanks for helping me out Jules😄
@@JulesBurt You certainly DO have to be a CMC member to get the matte version -- so that means getting a great many cars you don't want before you get a matt Batmobile!
@miger1824 Almost all the CMC cars are available to buy without being a member direct from their website. It may not be there yet, as the car hasn't shipped but I won't be surprised at all to see it there a month or two after the members have got there's.
@@JulesBurt Hi, so in their list and when I asked their costumer service the answer is you have to be a member to get this one. That whould mean getting 42 other cars first and 1600 euro lighter. That's to bad for non members who are fan of this first version :( So if their is any member reading this or knows someone who whould sell this one I whould very much like to hear from them😄
My favorite 1966 batman toy!! I still have 4 of them.
1966 ideal batcave I still have.
Cheers from Milwaukee 🍻
Excellent stuff! 4, you need a bigger batcave!

“POW!”💥👌😍👍👉🦇I love it! I just placed my order for that beauty!! The Batmobile and the James Bond car always been my favorites!❤️🔥😍👍
Fantastic! You'll not be disappointed!
Great model Jules !
My dad always promised me a real Batmobile when I was young if I never smoked , still driving a Honda civic tho 😂
Ha! That's amazing. Maybe one day!

Got mine yesterday brilliant 👏 😀 👌
It's a superb model👍
Wonderful review. Thank you!
Thanks my friend 🙂
That was the must have toy for boys of the 70's. I've still got my miniature Corgi Bat Mobile and Bat Copter.
Ah, I know those smaller versions, the Corgi Juniors. 🙂🦇
It was called a "Chain Slasher Blade" on the original !
Ah yes, very appropriate 🙂

Fantastic, sounds like you already have a great collection. This one will definitely be a fine addition. It's an exceptional model!
Unfortunately you will be dissatisfied it is definitely not a direct copy of a original
That box are is amazing. I don’t Norman Saunders did it but it’s a banger.
Thanks Sylvan!
I just ordered one.
Awesome, it's superb 🙂
ALways loved the Corgi Batmobile model. Great video Jules 👍
Thanks John!

The Green Hornet car would be great, especially for American collectors. You never know, the licence has to be cheaper than Batman.

@thesanfordmethod1905 My pleasure, let's keep our fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Had one of these when I was really young .... I remember using matchsticks as well after I lost all the rockets 😊😊
I reckon a few of us used match sticks🙂
Great video and a great Batman Model 😀👍
Absolutely Paul!
All the missiles eventually went down the heat exchanger, or under the stove, both for the Batmobile and the Man from Uncle car.
Yep, you're definitely not alone there🙂

Nice I love my too
Awesome!
Still got my original and some but not all of the rockets.
Excellent, a treasure!
I have the original one (mint/boxed) and I have the Corgi Club version on order. Too bad the new boxes are so shiny, though.
It's actually OK in the flesh, might be my lighting but the boxes are shiny and not the matt finish of the originals.
The colour of the new box is awful cheap Chinese copy

lol at the Recycle logo on the box.. do they seriously think people are gonna throw it away.
A good point. It's these things that differentiate but also spoil it a bit.
