The two of you hunting together is probably the best part of this channel. Kara (sp?) going with you and enjoying your company with the unique husband wife connection is completely AWEOME! Oh, by the way nice buck!
Marcus & Kara, this is my first YT comment. You two are setting the standard for our generation of ethical hunters. Marcus, you worked your ass off to get here man & I'm proud of you. I was a NY kid who went into the wars after 9/11 & started hunting 5 years ago in my late 30s. First time I did the gutless method I had Randy's video playing on my phone over 😅 took me 90 minutes the first time, now I can do it in 20-30. Been successful on mature Elk, WT & Mule Deer. I watched you guys and Remi W. I went from never hunting, to packing out each season past dudes who never got farther than a mile from the truck public land. The coolest thing after I got my first public land Bull I messaged Randy & thanked him for the inspiration & education & the son of a gun actually replied which was rad. Thank you to everyone at Fresh Tracks, appreciate your authenticity, morality, ethical standards & enthusiasm. I'm about to be elected Sheriff of my county in KS & I always refer young hunters & late start hunters like I was to FT. Keep getting after it you are doing wonderful things. I'm heading out to CO for Muley in Nov & cannot fng wait. Semper Fi 🤟 -EGK, Alma KS 🇺🇸
Cool buck, Marcus!! I totally understand not wanting to shoot the first good buck you see and feeling the need to soak in the total experience. I've never hunted out of state, but whenever I do I'm sure I'll be even more motivated to do the same!
A powerful video. I appreciate towards the end how the highlight was Marcus' narrative and not the final shot. This is a reminder that as hunters we are conservationist first.
Great content. That felt like a genuine Colorado hunt. All the moments leading up to the harvest is what makes hunting amazing. You captures it so well.
Me too. I had one the mother of my 13 children and 12 grandchildren but lord took her home so my long time hunting buddies are down by one. My dream is to get back out west to one last time get to mule deer hunt and elk but at 76 it may never happen.
Where I live and hunt in Colorado, the rut typically runs from the 3rd week of November through the 3rd week of December, depending on the weather, elevation, and area.
Great episode guys! My daughters love to see Kara out there hunting, thanks for being an example to young future female hunters! Also, you got lost right in our neighborhood. Keep up the good work!
Hearing those sandhill cranes has me fired up! I got lucky and drew a tag again this year. Last year we put 6 down and boy are they tasty!!! Nice buck!
Well presented story: how and why we manage wildlife is far different now then the 1920's, and so it will be different when our grandchildren are the managers. Time gives us history, and history gives us guidance, we can not stop time, we can only record what we observe for those to come after us.
You guys kinds remind me and the wife back 25 years ago but I shot most my big bucks from front seat of my 71 gmc on overland treaks or old logging roads I have one 176 buck from 1982 rest meat bucks 170 lb or better Archery and rifle nice buck great hunt
You raise a lot of great points. Ungulate populations in the GMU's around the ski area you posted (Vail) have dropped dramatically because of several user groups. BC skiers, dog walkers, shed hunters, mtn bikers etc all have an impact. Crazy studies on calf/fawn mortality due to human stressors. Thank you for getting the word out about this. I've spoken on it several times before. Looks like you were close to BV. I live in Gunnison. Great part of the state. I hope the points were worth the experience! I also HATE to be THAT guy because I love your content (and Randy's) and everyone does it.....but in Colorado, tag illegal on the antler ;) Thanks for what you do for conservation!!!
Marcus and Kara, I'm thinking that it's time to invest in a freeze dryer. A good one will run you $2500 , and you can make your own mountain house meals. Good hunt. Good memories with family and friends 🧡
Habitat loss and predation are the greatest impacts on wildlife. Hunters are generally conservationists at the root of it, but yes there are a portion that contribute nothing, or are a net negative, to sustainable populations of game. Voting appropriately and informed is one of the biggest impacts hunters can have on conservation. Too many Fudd’s miss this and believe there is no danger in small concessions on certain initiatives within legislation, then look up one day and have no ammunition, no arms and no way to fund their hunts.
do you have the deer meat tested fo cwd when you hunt in states with cwd like colorado? i would have had a short hunt, taken that first buck no question!
Well, good video, and alot of good talking points regarding mule deer survival and their challenges. I think if those issues mentioned were the biggest issues, then we as a society could find some sort of solution, but the current bureaucrats controlling the fish/game offices are having a much larger impact on the deer/elk/moose populations than the hikers/recreationists, ect. I believe that if you have an aggressive program for predator control, then the D/E/M will have a much better chance of surviving within the current demands on our lands?? maybe not? biology is not managing our fish and game anymore---Bureaucrats are! vote them out!! unuff said🤔
Colorado released a bunch of wolves to kill game animals 365 days out of the year with no bag limit. Wolves do not contribute financially or in any way to the survival of game animals.
STOP telling people to move to Colorado! They're building houses and scaring all the deer and other wildlife away. Stay home. Sincerely, a Native and hunter.
If I didn’t know this was Randy’s channel, I would also think this was an animal/environmentalist activist channel, based on what this guy is saying about the impact humans have on the earth and the deer habitat.
You’re obviously missing the point. Non-consumptive users need to start contributing to mule deer conservation, just like all of us hunters have since the establishment of the Pittman Robertson act. Hiking with dogs in the spring might have a worse impact on mule deer populations than hunting.
why does it matter if he's speaking the truth? The problem is your tribalism and seeing any "straying" from the tribes preordained dogma as a threat. Without truth and facts, your tribe is a bunch of goofballs
To be honest your video was hard to listen to. Not because of sound quality but because of the constant reflections on the state of hunting and the envireonment. I just want hunting tips.
Hey, thanks for watching and commenting! Our team produces two styles of hunting videos. This CO Mule Deer hunt is in the style that we call a "Fresh Tracks episode". It is a highly polished version of a hunt that pushes a conservation, public land, or a "tug at the heart strings" narrative. The other style is called a, "Day by Day" hunt. This might be more of what you all are looking for! Minimal polishing of the footage and our editors try to make you feel like you're on the hunt! In addition, we do our best to deliver some tips and tricks for the everyday hunter. Check out this hunt from the past season. I think it'll scratch that hunting and tips itch! - ruclips.net/video/CG3De-aZQHY/видео.html
I enjoy the channel more when he is behind the camera. His "filler" interviews on camera are hard to listen to and is an immediate skip ahead. He does much better on the voice over informational stuff.

So glad to see some hunting for once and not just long range marksmanship gone wrong like so many other vids on yt.
Outstanding video. Great production quality topped off with a great buck. Thank you for sharing.
I really like the narration and production of this episode, right on the money. It encompassed everything hunting is about, nice one.
MH does a great job with it!
Looks like your points were well spent! Sweet episode, thank you!
Quite the experience! Thanks for sharing with us
Looks like the Ward Road interchange at the start there, that spot is a real test of your navigation skills!
Very cool... the town shown at 24:04 is my home town lol. Very Awesome buck!!
Hearing those sandhill cranes has me fired up! I got lucky and drew a tag again this year. Last year we put 6 down and boy are they tasty!!! Nice buck!
They eat pretty good 👍
Congratulations on a great hunt. Thanks for sharing.
I pray my 3rd season deer hunt this fall goes as well as yours.

Nice buck .Kara is the ultimate partner in life cherish her forever.
She rocks!
Enjoyed the video! Congrats on the full experience!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love it. That looked like an awesome hunt.
Good work!! I don’t even bother building points in Colorado at this point. Smart of you to burn your points now

Awesome Marcus, great story.
Another great example of an old mule deer getting away. He knows exactly where to bed and how to get away quickly without being seen.
V smart buck!

I believe those are also the areas that the got the wolves.
Non direct impact is what got you a subscriber! 👍👏🤗 keep it up! I want and expect better with that mindset. 👍
When i see Kara...i click on every video!! So lucky to have your soul mate hunt with you...
They crush it together!
Absolutely love these two 😂
Always need more Marcus and Kara

The Front Range is at capacity. Everyone should move to Bozeman. 😅 Great show.
They already have..!
@@warren3665I was just kidding. Everyone is everywhere. Have a good one.
My dream mule deer would be a just normal 4x4 with 2 inch brows. I got a Wisconsin 6 point but just a baby.
That unit look very familiar, nice buck congrats
Great video Marcus!
My backyard. Some great deer in that unit.
Your wife is so cool 😊

What kind of lighting are y'all using inside of your wilderness ridge wall tent?
Do Venezuelans hunt mule deer?
Awesome part of Colorado. Your secret is safe with me 🤐
Haha I know right lol
Congrats Marcus! That stalk though on Big Hank...yikes! haha
haaa whoops, thanks for watching!
Deer always adjust to human activities. Go to Estes Park the elk and muleys are wandering the street and high school foot ball field
Second video where I didn’t get impressed by a 6.5 PRC.
Great hunt nice land. I would’ve taken the first buck.
if you don't like the 6.5prc think about stepping up to .264 win mag, 6.5 wea.rpm or 6.5-300 weath. mag.
Shoots an animal twice with 6.5 prc: SEE ITS TOO SMALL FOR HUNTING!!! REEEEEE
Shoots an animal with a 300 wm: man these animals are tough!
Curious on what time of year this was, for the weather that you had.
Mid November
Ya i agreed with Kara. 🤣
do you have the deer meat tested fo cwd when you hunt in states with cwd like colorado? i would have had a short hunt, taken that first buck no question!
I really like this show and everyone involved. That being said, that isn't a very big buck. We've got bigger blacktails here in California.
Always shoot on tge first day what you would shoot on the last day. You can always go hiking the rest of the days.
Have you checked out the politics in Colorado? That's why I am looking to move out of this communist woke state that has been ruined by the left.
Don't let the door hit ya on the way out.
@@T1nTodd Don't worry I won't! Troll.

Great episode! 10/10. Not using dogs? (Jace) Lol. Also, stop telling everyone to move here, or we will start sending everyone to Montana.
Whereabouts in Colorado is this? 😉
Based on the sound and impact delay that must have been ~650 yard shot!

I refer to driving through Denver as driving through HELL!!!!
Big bucks got big from not being stupid.
Congratulations Marcus awesome hunt and buck 👍👍

What did Marcus do to his leg?
That thing didn’t get that big from being stupid he was setting on go and done had his escape planned out
Trying to find me a Kara in a world full of Karen’s ..
