Great video Alanna, your expanding smile as your tastebuds get a kick is just priceless. 😋 It seems to break out around your mouth then spread across the whole of your face ending with your eyebrows blooming lol. Conversely when the snack "tastes like butt" the skin above your nose between your eyes wrinkles up so intensely, it's hilarious.
Tayto prawn cocktail is by far the best brand in the UK/Ireland for that flavour, but its still an acquired taste. I love them, probably my favourite crisp/flavour.
I love your videos, Alanna. I had a big smile all the way through this one. I think I am in agreement with you. The classic crisp is the best format (no puffs please), and salt and vinegar the best flavour. (Although, just salt is a close second.) I think we have some salt and vinegar crisps in the kitchen. I will go and look. Don’t wait up for me. 😄
Hi Alanna. I don't always comment as i've been with you almost from the beginning, so it's hard to think of something new or original to say after 5+ years. Take it as a given that I always look forward to your weekly video and enjoy them immensely. I count you as a bright spark in my candle box of life :-)
Hi Alanna, what you need to try, trust me, is a crisp and jam butty. Take two pieces of thick white bread. Spread butter on each. Spread fruity jam (I suggest Raspberry Seedless) then add a regular packet of Cheese and Onion Crisps. Close the sandwich. Your tastebuds are gonna love you.
Great as usual, but I'm not used to the over the pond word, Flaver full, it just sounds wrong, never heard it before reaction vlogs became a thing in life 😂 Oh god no, oh why Tastes of butt 😂
I love a good taste test video when I think you’ve done them all in comes Aaron, thank you so much to him and I hope I spelled his name correctly if not I am sorry. Thanks for the video, I hope you have a great week.
I had to grab my 'nice N spicy Nik Naks' to eat while watching. Granted, not Irish. BUT I had a family friend bring me some 'Tayto CRINKLE CUT chip shop curry' crisps unexpectedly last night - which I also paused the video as I wrote this after I went downstairs to retrieve one, to eat with you. You havent been on my feed for a while and wrote you on a video you posted a couple of days ago, and got a reply from you. SO Its been too long since I watched you and by extension you tasting snacks. This is areal treat. CRUNCH CRUNCH
Thanks Alanna!, enjoyed the reactions as always. Are the Snacks shelves at the local Supermarket 'World Food' aisle going to get a visit from you sometime please?!
Im here from reddit, someone posted this on an ireland subreddit, they said this video was funny and your channel is good. They were right! The account that posted it was called Aaron it might be the same one that sent you the crisps?!
I don't eat a lot of crisps but these look great! Agree with the meat crisp opinion with the exception of Tesco Bacon Rasher crisps, which I love lol... Not a massive fan of orange flavoured pop, rather have a raspberry cola, mmmm... Great video 😄
This felt like your old school taste tests before you ran out of normal British snacks to try 😆 Maybe you should start tasting things from around the world?
Watching your reactions is the most fun, especially when you get one where your face says what the hell !! 😂 I was on that train and at the end realized I was super hungry - now reaching into my draw for my hidden stash of choc bars 😄
Yep, I definitely like a simple classic crisp too and you can't go too far wrong with a nice strongly flavoured salt and vinegar. Strange that all the attempts at meaty crisps just don't quite get the flavours right isn't it? Thanks for another great video Alanna!
Went to Dublin last year, trying Tayto was one of the things I was most excited about. Brought back some for my family but they didn't seem all that impressed
Yay! Crisps from my neck of the woods! You're officially making me homesick! Tayto Castle in Tandragee was where many of my school friends took summer jobs. There's a difference between Northern Ireland Tayto and Republic of Ireland Tayto though but from what I can see of the packaging you've got the "proper" ones from Tandragee. The Mr Potato logo is different on them. You've inadvertently stepped on a proverbial minefield though with the video title as you're eating British crisps (being from Northern Ireland), not Irish. I get the confusion but you may need to brace yourself for some ranty comments! lol. Think of it as someone claiming a Canadian Maple Syrup product as being American! Key question though...where on earth did you get all that over here? I used to cram luggage with Tayto Onion Rings as nowhere in England sold it. I don't know if it's still there, but it used to be that if you flew into Belfast the first thing you saw in the terminal was a large sign saying "Welcome home to the taste of Tayto!".
Agree with you "proverbial minefield" comment lol. I think Alana was having an "American" moment!! By the way, my missus is from Tandragee and has no problem getting Tayto crisps here in London, mind you, she does live in "County Kilburn!!"
@@andysavill8580 I've woken up with headaches over the years after spending time in Kilburn lol. Some Tescos stock Cheese and Onion but that's where the variety seems to end. Spring Onion and Onion Rings were my goto. I'd love to see the comments had "brown" lemonade made it onto the list. That's the one I find has caused the most confusion over the years!
Not often I get nostalgic from an Adventures & Naps video but this one is the exception. I grew up in Scotland with an Irish dad and so spent several summers over there with relatives. First thing I wanted to do every time I arrived there was to eat some Tayto crisps, cheese & onion for preference. I don't remember Club orange from way back then but every time I've taken the car over on the ferry as an adult I've come home with several 2l bottles along with the boxes of crisps. So to answer your question, " Are Irish crisps better than British ones?" Yes they are, as long as they're Tayto.
Tayto Cheese and Onion and Salt & Vinegar Standard Crisps are absolute classics! So yes you definitely picked the best ones. Whenever I go to Ireland to visit family, I always bring back a Tayto Multipack - Nice Video!
You educated me with this one, Alanna! I've been to Ireland (both Northern and the Republic) but I've never sampled the delights of their snacks. They go in for fish and chips in a big way over there, incidentally, so you would enjoy yourself if you were to visit.
TAYTO are probably the most common crisp brand in Northern Ireland ( technically part of the UK ) . So I am surprised that they are difficult to obtain in the rest of the UK ( quite common in the republic of Ireland though ) . I believe Tayto were the first in the world to offer a cheese & onion flavour for crisps / chips back in the mid 1950's . The I've found that this flavour is quite characteristic and not quite like cheese & onion from other brands and I regard it as their best flavour . Their others being very similar to competing brands . Great vid as always . You're a natural ☺
I've never seen them on sale in the UK. I know an Irish lady who always brings back a box whenever she visits Ireland. On visits to Ireland I didn't pay any attention to the crisps and sweets on sale........ That's a good excuse to visit Ireland again.
When I was a kid you could get Mr noodles for 15 cents from IGA. We would crush them up and add the sodium packet then shake the bag and eat em raw LOL good times...
Really enjoyed this & has made me want to try these for myself. Always enjoy a good crnchy crisp, complimented by a good hearty sandwhich & a pint. Never heard of club drinks, only club I know of are the choclate bars which I haven't had for some time
I live about 6 miles away from the Tayto factory at Tandragee castle so pass it quite often. They run tours there so you can see the crisps being made. Like you, my favourite flavour is salt n vinegar, although I do also like the smokey bacon and spicy Thai ones too. Not a fan of Cheese n Onion, although it is their most popular flavour. You should look out for the ridge versions - very nice and very moreish! 😃 Incidently, there is a Tayto crisp company in the Republic of Ireland but they are DIFFERENT companies and the flavours are slightly different too. There is also Tayto Park, an amusement theme park to explore there as well.
Alanna, I think you should do an ASMR version with you just eating the crisps and reacting with your facial expressions. They really say it all. I'm always rooting for the cheeky smile, but the cringe is priceless.
@@AdventuresAndNaps I don't know if you've got a Home Bargains near you, but i was in my local one earlier this evening and they had a multi-pack of 6 Tayto Cheese & Onion for £1.09. So, i bought some on your recommendation - very nice.
Oh, definitely. Tayto cheese and onion are possibly the best tasting crisps I’ve ever had. Irish Dairy Milk chocolate was far tastier than it’s UK counterpart (creamier, smoother), although I think the recipe has changed since I last had them. Certain Irish products are fantastic (Galtee cheese, Cidona apple drink, soda bread). A staple of my childhood! 😀
bikers and prawn cocktail are literally the best, in my home in ireland theyll be eaten first and then smokey bacon and ready salted will sit in the box for weeks.

One is fake flavourings and the other means it uses real items. Also sorry but I hate cheese and onion flavour lol. Also tayto are the best crisps and I’m British!!
Alanna, the Prawn Cocktail crisps taste like ketchup because it's trying to emulate the flavour of "cocktail sauce" which is a dip for prawns that is based on ketchup.
I live on the South Coast of England and I have for many years had to trek over for several days at a time, many times a year to Northern Ireland. It may be for work but really the reason I go primarily is for Tayto Wuster Sauce Crisps. They are the absolute best, I was so annoyed when Walkers stopped making them in the rest of the UK. You need Wuster Sauce Tayto's in your life - things will seem even better!!
Where is the packaging from, that is not the same as the packaging we have here in dublin. Oh btw i just finished a bag of prawn cocktail tayto, my fav flavour. 💗
ah but the Tayto you ate are the Northern Ireland version of the crisps, you really have to try the Republic of Ireland (Southern) Tayto and Cheese & Onion. A different beast altogether! Especially in a white bread sandwich!!
I moved to the UK in 1986 and the one thing I miss most from Ireland is Tayto crisps.

ah but the Tayto you ate are the Northern Ireland version of the crisps, you really have to try the Republic of Ireland (Southern) Tayto and Cheese & Onion. A different beast altogether! Especially in a white bread sandwich!!
But Paul - why would she want to try those cheap, fake Southern Tayto flavours, when she already tried the cool, delicious, Northern ones?

@@paulobrienmus Oh dear, the N Ireland ones are far superior. Maybe you have extremely poor tastebuds.
Fighting words! Southern Tayto forever!
@@mhagain I agree they are forever living in the shadow of the great Northern Tayto.
