The APA hotel chain in Japan is pretty similar to what the Holiday Inn chain in the US used to be like. I've stayed in APA hotels twice, and they're quite good, with lots of amenities, while keeping the prices at a reasonable level...

APA Hotel is really nice, I stayed last month in APA Hotel Asakusabashi-Eki Kita. The staffs are nice. The hotel is near train stations which can be ridden to go to famoust tourist attraction spots in Asakusa Tokyo. Also near to conbini like 7-11 and FamilyMart
