I have now 3 dead solar controllers from Fangpusun, each has had upgraded firmware from Victron, they seem to work for awhile, I even put a temp controlled fan on the heatsink of one so it never has a chance of getting hot, lasted a few months then died, So I would keep a wide birth from these Chinses clones, save you money and buy Victron, best money ever spent was on Victron, I have not looked back
Welcome to the dead Fang club, yes I still have it on my shelf, It's only a dead weight now, yes firmware update will eventually kill it, if they don't by software updates die and have a short life compared to true Victron hardware, I have since gone Victron only and never been a problem since
Ross can you help me in resetting error #40 on my victron mppt. I got the error when I connected my mppt with lithium phosphate battery 48v without precharging capacitor
Err 40 - PV Input failed to shutdown If the charger is unable to turn off the PV input, it will go into a safe mode in order to protect the battery from over-charging or having a high voltage on the battery terminals. In order to do that, the charger will stop charging and disconnect its own output. The charger will become faulty. www.victronenergy.com/live/mppt-error-codes
I have mine running for about 2yrs.. no issues. The one that died on me, i disconnected battery while it was working nothing happened. I tried reconnecting, it sparked and died... I was able to convince them enough to get a warranty replacement although.
@@sjdtmv could be using high temp solder too for better heat management wont' help though, as the victron firmware update has clone killer code in it. you HAVE to keep them stock.

Read well, they warn not to upgrade with victron firmwares, as thise firmwares cone with a kill code for clones. 👀!
Hi, 3 MPPT 30/100 from Fungpusun burnt in 2years in my sailing boat, while a 20/100 Victron is still alive for 2 years now.
Yes my 100/50 died shortly after a firmware victron upgrade also
But the 100/30D's have been faultless for over 2 years now
If I remember these go-between 160 and 260 dollars U.S and they looked like they were built poorly
Hi Ross, good work. Can you share the part number of Mosfets originally used and your replacements? That will help me very much. Thanks.
Ii have done no good, the mosfets are solid into the PCB, they could have been machine punched into the board before they are soldered
Hey did you end up repairing this I have one that I believe is software bricked due to victron forced updates

I have the Schematic of this Charger, any means to Extract the firmware from the S08 CPU ?
I think the firmware is design for uploading only and not downloading or backup
could you send me schematics? I just bought a BDM interface to read firmware from this and schematics would help me in my work

Please don’t buy this product again it die even if you don’t do any FW update on it. I have 3 that are dead now

@@leviahamefula3994 I have 3 all dead complain to them no reply from them
@@djnumberz1893 oops, sorry about that.
How did you make the circular cuts?
Used a large hole saw with the centre drill removed and clamped in my milling machine
How did the repair go?
They are unrepairable, the components are punched in before being soldered

Capacitators? I think you mean capacitors
Luckily there were no mention of Resisistors ... lol
