You should use a little electric pump with hoses...it works very nicely and you just have to unscrew one bolt. When it is finished, you switch the hose and you feel the gearbox with new oil. It is brillant.
Cheers for the mention Tom. Really appreciate it. That oil didn’t look too bad at all. If you want to clean the outside of that box use wheel cleaner or BBQ cleaner it’ll get rid of all that mess. Just waiting on my guy here for word back on that seal/gasket. Glad my video helped and the change went well for you. Keep up the good work.
@@Project40Cars it does indeed. You should smell old diff oil from a neglected Land Cruiser. Does the box feel or sound any smoother with the new oil in.
Just did the same on my 22 year old Brava 1.2… my filler plug was in really tight from the factory. The old oil didn’t stink but it was very black, I’m sure yours had been changed before. I used lovely Valvoline 75W/80, clearance stock from my local motor factors.
A slight elevation, as access is challenging without it. Ideally this would be done a lift or similar but as I don’t have that there wasn’t much choice.
Clean the gear with water pressure first ,on the top of the gear box there is the selctor cover that have air breather ,if you see that top cover spill oil the air breather is dirty and failing, its beter to replace the oil sealers

Nice! Glad your oil didn’t reek 😂
Hi, I can't fint how to change oil in differential. Is it possible that gearbox oil also lubricate diff or is separate?
Not sure to be honest, it wouldn’t surprise me though.
Did the transmission start slipping? You either change it regularly or never.
It’s got a leak from the gearbox seal so it was worth changing it.
Did your car stand straight (horizontal) during the oil change?

I’ll need to check that out. The end seal on the gearbox is also leaking.
in the wrong place you dropped the old oil down to the right original screw where the oil stands out from the gearbox
