This is incredible, Dan!
hi reed
Thank you Reed! Great work by you and your crew this season, what an insane year it's been!
Yeah. Incredible until the drone came down. That's like leaving the game and taking your ball with you.
That was one lucky factory. ;What a mess that'dve been.
The beginning of this video is why the NWS says in its Skywarn storm spotting classes to look at what is going on on the ground and not just in the air. If you were just looking at the base of the clouds you would miss the nearly invisible ground circulation and conclude that it is not on the ground yet. Just because the visible part of the condensation funnel hasn't reached the ground doesn't mean it isn't capable of doing major damage. This is another reason why the NWS says in its warnings "do not wait to see or hear the tornado coming, do not go out and look for it."
A major misconception that I personally had to overcome when I became involved in storm spotting, and one I'm sure a lot of people have who haven't seen a tornado, is most tornadoes do not look like the classic Wizard of Oz tornado or even the ones in Twister. The only one I have seen so far was so thin and transparent it looked more like an overgrown dust devil than a tornado. By taking spotter classes and watching videos like this one, I've learned that tornadoes can take all kinds of shapes and are not always easy to recognize that they are tornadoes. I really encourage people to take Skywarn classes, they are free and can be found online as well as in person--and it could save your life. Here in Michigan we've had several instances recently where a tornado spun up, did damage, and dissipated before the NWS could issue a warning--one tragically killed a three-year-old child in Livonia. According to Michigan Storm Chasers, this is not uncommon for our state.
Wow! That truck making its escape!
Bet that truck driver had to change his underwear!!!
Yeah I didn't even notice him when I watched this last night. Just did as I watch it for the second time.
Dude was cruising 😂
@@davidwilliams4865 Tornado would've taken care of that problem.
Impressive work! My brother works at the Kenco logistics warehouse that you see getting obliterated. Thank God no one was injured.
Man, Beryl just won't quit with the mayhem. Crazy how many twisters it spawned.
One post suggested there was ~95 warnings for the night and day of landfall, though many of those were probably extensions of previous warnings instead of being allowed to expire.
Semi driver at 1:15 just sent it straight through the nader.
"Not paid by the hour, paid by the mile" - that trucker, probably
Great shot from the Drone, Thank you for the video.
There are so many tornado videos now there aren't many I can watch once and say "instant classic." This is one of those. I haven't yet seen what AI-powered visual effects they came up with for _Twisters_ , but I maintain that Hollywood has nothing on real-life tornadoes.
Especially not with 4K stabilized drone footage... it's incredible the amount of detail captured nowadays. When Twister came out, the only real footage I'd seen was VHS recordings with shaky cam and all the fine resolution of a postage stamp!
December is gonna be where the biggest event happens or January
Whew weee
We just don’t know where
@@JeffGeerlingOmg! I watch your videos all the time!
Yea this footage is amazing. If you haven't already seen that vicious multiple vortice twister captured by Reed Timmer that folded a windmill, please check that one out
@@ThePowerOfOneThePowerOfTwo That was the Greenfield tornado. Beautiful monster. This Mount Vernon storm is uglier, like a patch of chaos.
I cannot believe how much perspective a drone can provide of a tornado from the air now!
Tim Samaras would be so impressed! Well caught Dan and I hope that truck driver is ok!
Im the only one that noticed the Semi Trailer at 1.20 fleeing for his life
That semi at 1:19 was certainly cleared for take-off!! Great work on this video!
WOW! It has been a while since I have seen any tornado vids from you Dan, but as always, when I do, I am amazed by your chasing skills & videography! Superb! I am hoping & praying that no-one was hurt by this destructive beast!
Thanks Derek!
Was at the ADM plant which is about a mile from there when it happened, sirens started going off, and wind almost knocked me down and the raid was coming in sideways.
Wow - a lot to unpack in that footage, Dan - excellent documentation
Thanks Paul!
Yikes. Generations of my family there since pre-Civil War. Haven't heard of any injuries, thank God.
Your drone footage was terrifying beautiful. Deadly elegance. Amazing video, truly.
Wow that thing had horizantle suction vorticies thats insane, nice video!
Only violent tornadoes get horizontal suction vortices. This was EF-3+.
That's a very vapid way to describe what a tornado does, I bet you feel proud watching weather channels and stealing the fear mongering terminology they use over and over.
@angrydragon4574 Usually featured with violent tornadoes, but not all. I do believe though this one behaved like a EF-2 or low-end 3, based on the videos I have seen.
looking tusculoosa / joplinish tbh with the structure and horizontal vorticies.
I work at that plant and live 2 blocks away. No damage to my place but I watched that monster form from my driveway. Craziest thing I've ever seen
I cant believe how powerful beryl's remnants were. I havent paid a lot of attention to the remnants of some other hurricanes, but i cant really recall any other hurricane remnants commonly dropping big tornadoes like this through the midwest.
Wow Dan, you were right in the outskirts of this beast ofna tornado at the end of the video. Thanks for sharing this awesome intercept video but stay safe.
Great video-your drone captured the tornado 🌪️ as it spun through mount vernon -I can see the multiple vortices-and you had a close call with the debris blowing around! 😊😊😊😊😊
I just drove through the city of Mount Vernon and seen some of the aftermath. The city was spared from anything catastrophic, for the path of the tornado was just east of city center but the large manufacturing building (seen in footage) has sustained substantial damages. Great video!
Thank you! Glad it wasn't worse. I was very worried for the town.
wow this is fantastic, you can really see evidence of rapid intensification as soon as it was able to condense all the way to the ground. horizontal vortices too!!
Great footage of this monster😳
I hate that it hit & destroyed😢
Praying everyone was safe🙏
Fantastic capture 👏 I love how it 1st gathers forth. And morphs.
Heartbreaking - praying for those who were affected. It was a huge tornado.
Wow! Nice catch! Stay safe everyone, its not over til its over!
Absolutely incredible footage! Great flying!
Thank you!
One of the best I’ve seen this year, multiple vortices dancing all over the place and the speed at which the main conw rushed forward at one point was actually quit frightening.
Thank you!
I was wondering if hurricanes can create tornados far inland and this answers my question!!
Incredible footage, Dan! The fluidity of the atmosphere is phenomenal
Thank you!
Dan you're fabulous - thanks for this monumental footage!! We love you!
Thank you!
Insane footage. I was wondering why the drone was being recalled, but later made perfect sense. Great job!
Thank you!
incredible footage
Great footage as always. Crazy all that debris. Do you know if there were any injuries? Praying for those affected.
Yikes a bit close for comfort! Beautiful yet terrifying images, looked like two vortices in there.
The remnants of the hurricane were more than I expected in STL!
Look at all those vortices too!
Incredible work Dan!
Thank you!
That debris shroud was massive, and you were in it! Great video!
Thank you!
Dan you are the man!
Did you find yourself in the outer circulation of the Tornado? That shifted and travelled very fast. And very large if so.
Incredible footage Dan, great work.
Thank you!
Great footage! Hope everyone is ok.
Awesome images sir! 2:29 you can see the wall cloud for the next on the right side of rhe screen.
From Houston to Mt Vernon ,... you are welcome !
Amazing footage, this is just insane!
Thank you!
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
Wow look at it, multiple vortex tornado.
Stunning footage! scary
Fantastic shooting, fantastic rotation. And thanks for not screaming like a blithing idiot.
Great job Dan!
man I havent seen you chase since el reno, I hope had fun chasing again. Right do I need to take the night off again to help my neighbors that is the question
Amazing video
Great work Dan !!
Thank you!
This video is Amazing!!! Well done!!!!
Thank you!
This is not too far from where I live in IN. Great video!
Great shot man! I love this video 📹!! 😊
Can you imagine the screaming that would be going on towards the end of the video if Reed had shot this
Reminds me of the 2011 Tuscaloosa tornado but on a smaller scale. Absolutely wicked regardless
Great video Dan.🤘😎
Thank you!
THEN I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a flying 🌪️ roll.
truck driver: "i got a deadline to make"
they were spraying chemtrails the day before this also
Amazing footage!
The zoomed out shot with all the debris in the air reminded me a little of 1999 Moore
Yea, that was a 'strong' cat 1 hurricane. I think they measured 105 wind speed just as it hit. 110 would have been cat 2. Arkansas was under tornado warnings all night. I was in D.C. for Hurricane Floyde a cat 2 that killed 85 in 99' scarry stuff,. I saw one of those big steel newspaper vending machines about 50 pound just take off into the sky landing who knows where.
Great video Dan, hope everyone is safe.
There's no such thing as a weak hurricane. People get seriously injured or killed thinking a 1 is some kind of weak rainstorm. It's just that past 3 they are world ending.
Wow incredible footage I’m subbing awesome 👏
dan you are insane this is incredible.
Thank you!
That is some superior, insane footage! It’s crazy to think that hurricanes do in fact affect states that aren’t near the coast. 🥴
The drone changed the game amazing footage womder if we ever see one fly inside tornado. I mean reeds already shooting rockets in tornado like movie twister😅
Wow, great video, without stupid yelling such as reed timmer does, always wants to be in front. This is way better❤ than
0:57 There's an ancient account from I think Britain, somewhere around the 1000's I think, that talks about a tornado as if it were Satan riding a black horse. That always confused me, but maybe i get it now. Emerging from the left side of the storm. What an image.
Just Wow!
Great video!!
Quality catch, Dan!
Thank you!
Amazing video. What drone do you have?
You’re a boss, Dan!
Thank you :)
Glad i live more northern.
Impressive. How fast would you say it was traveling?
Incredible footage.
Thank you!
Very fortunate positioning, it basically moved right around you in an arc.
Awesome video
I wonder if we would have gotten more/stronger tornadoes if Beryl had been even stronger?
I would say so. It’s so early in the season for a hurricane of that scale, but also the fact that it traveled as far as it did with the strength that it has is mind boggling. Had it been stronger I feel like there would’ve definitely been more tornadoes if anything
Omg my nephew got out just in time .
I feel bad for everyone that’s going thru it right now
Terrific/Terrifying - Have re-watched several times to allow for viewing different areas in the video each time- Full Screen mandatory, imo.
Excellent coverage I hope you sold it to the local news (part 107) question what Drone were you flying?
Nice.
Where about we’re watching it from? I’m from mount Vernon less then 2 miles away 😮
2 And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying 🌪️ roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.
Bro was flooring it 1:19
lol standing inside the debris field, wild
That's my home town. My homie J. Robb filmed footage very similar to this.
That straight shot down the road as the tornado was crossing reminded me of El Reno a little, gotta say.
This was the outbreak spawned by Berly. Look at how the tornado throws debris.
Frightening. We just had Beryl down here, but that twister is nasty! Looks way worse than what happened here.
Any known injuries or fatalities?
Def an ef2+
That’ll be fun combining those bean fields.
Is that the tornado i think it is? Looks a bit like its walking..
That was looking scary a few times.
Did anybody spot the truck flying by?
You all be careful out there.
Just watched the news today... They stated it was a POSSABLE tornado... Not confirmed! Lol
Channel 13 WTHR indy
Their ignorance really shows on the news since they aren't allowed to confirm a thing these days!
Back in the day, the news would've blasted out loud that that was definitely a tornado!
