Great video. I've got some buckthorn that I'm going to work on t his fall. My question is: what do you do with the bigger seed trees and branches? Can you just make a pile and burn them in the winter or do you just leave them on the forest floor? That landowner will appreciate all the hard work you are doing in a few years!

We have burned it in the winter in areas of more mature buckthorn, but the trees also break down quickly if you aren't able to burn them down.

I agree with Salty tech. You can burn if you'd like but I just chop and drop and let them break down on the forest floor. They decompose fairly quickly

How late into the year is a foliar application still effective?

I spray up until the leaves start to wilt. Once they wilt they are likely no longer able to suck in the herbicide

I have some buckthorn in my woods just a few small areas.. shagbark hickory, red oak and Aspen in those areas as well but the deer love to use it for bedding and the grouse love the low cover as well should I be taking it out or leaving it ?
