Excellent tutorial! Lots of pro tips for part removal.
Hi , thank you for your comment , I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Hopefully it can help a few people out with changing their Ethernet Connectors. Thanks again , take care 👍
That wire trick for removal is a game changer. Well done!
Hi , thank you for your comment much appreciated. You have probably seen them but if not I've done lots of videos now with this wire trick , I love it because it's so adaptable to suit many different components. Thanks again , take care 👍
Turn the braid into a virtual sponge
Hi there! Greetings from Bulgaria. I've been using flux RMA-218. It's a great flux, but the cleaning is very tedious because the flux is really sticky. Could you recommend me an universal flux which flows well and the cleaning is atleast more easy than mine.
P.S. I've been using toothpicks for the barrel cleaning 😅
Another amazing video, Mr SolderFix! Thanks! Would love to see you cover the desoldering of through hole IC's and what techniques you would use for removing them from multilayer boards with large ground planes.
That copper wire zigzag and solder fill-in is the way to go, for sure.
Hi , thank you for your comment, much appreciated . This method does work really well . I own hot air rework stations etc but still prefer this method at times . Thanks again 👍
Just found your channel recently, and I have to say it's the best by far I've seen for soldering tutorials!I I've been getting back into electronics again recently and decided to treat myself to a soldering station, proper branded solder/flux etc. I'd forgotten how enjoyable it is. I used your wire trick yesterday for swapping a bunch of pin headers to the other side of the board ;-) I hope you don't think I'm being cheeky, but would you be able to make use of a bottle of flux cleaner? Back story - I always struggled to remove the residues from the flux-cored wire I use, so I bought a litre of "Total Clean 300" from Warton last month. It sort of helped, but it turns out the problem was the flux - I then bought some of Warton's own cored wire, and it comes off cleanly with just isopropanol. So I'm left with nearly a full bottle of the cleaner stuff! Trying to find anyone who would be able to make use of it.
Great work, not minding a bit of repetition. Brilliant that the plastic is unharmed and there’s no need to tape over the plastics.
Hi , thank you for supporting my channel , very much appreciated. Hopefully my videos can help a few people out with their soldering / desoldering issues. If they can then I'm happy . Thanks again , take care 👍
Using those motherboard standoffs is a great trick - Long ones can be found inside most cheap chinese IP cameras. There's 8 of them or more if PoE, and they have the fitting nuts in there as well, and you can screw them together to increase height. I thought I was the only person that used them for that purpose! - Great tips as always, especially with the copper-wire multipin desolder technique. I use this weekly.
The thing I don't like the fact that your soldering skills make me look like I wear mittens whilst doing mine! - Your technique is perfect.
As for flux on the braid, why the hell didn't I think of that? - Great tip.
Hi , thank you for watching the video and commenting , much appreciated. I'm glad you agreed about the stand offs , they really do a good job in levelling your boards.
The flux on the solder braid is one of the best things I've ever tried when desoldering . It works amazingly well every time . Thanks again for your support , take care 👍
Can't seem to find the products you use in the USA, especially the rework flux you show in your videos. Is there a comparable product I can order from the states?
Hi , thank you for your comment , much appreciated. The flux I have used for many years, SMFL200D has become discontinued a few months back but I had a small stock of it that's kept me going for now . I will post on RUclips when I find a suitable alternative.
In the States the main suppliers DIGIKEY and Mouser stock everything you need for PCB work , they will help you out if you contact them as they are very , very good firms . I use them for ordering parts and their stuff arrives in England 2 days later. Good luck with your search and thanks again , take care 👍
@@mrsolderfix3996You should definitely do a flux comparison video to find an alternative! 😁
👍👍👌👌
Hi , thank you for watching the video and commenting 👍
Another great video thanks for sharing your knowledge. Can I ask, would it be possible for you to make a video showing an HDMI. SSD Component being removed and then putting a new one in its place. This is something I've struggled with a lot. It would be really appreciated. Thanks for sharing.
Hi~I'm curious if your video amplifier circuit board uses a magnifying glass or a microscope? Thank you very much
0:56 I have one of these parts, its out of a spa control panel.
The prongs on the other side have almost no copper left and I'm struggling to find the part.
Am I able to resolder some copper to revive the pins?
Any chance of a video showing how to remove TTH chips from a pcb without the use of a solder vacuum station?
Fantastic! I'm going to try this out on my xbox controller that I can't get one of the thumb sticks off of.
Thanks to your tutorial, I've recovered a lot of components, and now I can play happily and economically.
Hi , thank you for your comment , very much appreciated . I'm glad the video has proved useful for you and you've managed to recover some parts from your boards , that's great to hear . Thanks again , take care 👍
Great Video, do we also have to re-program the Ethernet port onto the Motherboard ?
thanks , great video!

Hi. What flux are you using?
Hi , thank you for your comment. In this video I used SMFL200D flux which I have used for many years . Unfortunately it's recently been discontinued so I will be looking for an alternative soon . If and when I find one I'll post about it on RUclips. Thanks again , take care 👍
@@mrsolderfix3996 thanks for your answer. Tell about your new chosen flux when you will find alternatives in your videos. Great work 💪
Hi , I will do , no problem . Thanks for your comments 👍
I love this channel. Every video, I expect to already know it, but always end up learning so much. Thanks for sharing

OK SO I see the desoldering trick with braid is - iron has to be tinned a bit first just to connect tin from tip with tin from holes right ?
Hi , thank you for your comment. The trick is FLUX . Add that to your braid first , game changer 👍
my course is computer engineer and this is what I badly needed how to desold and soldering💯
Hi , thank you for watching the video and commenting , your support is very much appreciated 👍
Thanks for sharing another trick to use the PCB standoffs, I have a few of them. Its great to use the PCB standoffs to lift up the PCB.
Hi , thank you for your support of my channel, very much appreciated. Pcb standoffs are great for levelling your board and are easily obtainable, hopefully more people get hold of some to help them . Thanks again , take care 👍
Fantastic mate. Learning so much from your channel. Cheers.
Hi , thank you for your comment , much appreciated. I'm glad the videos have been able to help you , that is all I wanted to do , help a few people out with their soldering / desoldering issues.Thank you for your support of my channel and good luck with all of your soldering projects in the future 👍
I love the second method. I too have always used hot air. I will try this method next time. thank you.
Hi , thank you for your comment , much appreciated. I love the wire method for removing components as in a lot of cases it's safer than using a hot air gun . Hopefully if you try this method you get on ok . I've posted quite a few videos now showing how adaptable this method is . Thanks again and good luck 👍
so clean! so very clean! great technique! amazing!
Hi , thank you for your comment, much appreciated. I'm glad you enjoyed the video , hopefully it can help a few people out with their damaged connector issues. Thanks again , take care 👍
The copper wire bridge is the great way. Thank for sharing
Hi , thank you for your comment , much appreciated. I love this wire method so much I've posted quite a few other videos on my channel showing more examples of how great this method is . If you haven't seen them they may be of interest . Thanks again , take care 👍

Nice Video as usual. Thanks for your efforts. I just wonder if there is a way to desolder LCD screen with 28 pins.
This is definitely the best tips channel for soldering. What kind of flux do you use?
Love it so much, it is such as a key method.
