Our religion is alive today because of the great Scholars whom Allah blessed to be the Torch Bearers of Islam who carried the religion down the ages, yet some claim that Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi is trying to separate us from the Ulema!
Is Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi really trying to separate us from the Scholars of Islam and follow a deviated path of misguidance?

Criticism actually requires some form of qualifications. For instance when I have a presentation at university, the teacher gives comments and critiques your presentation. Belittling doesn't require any qualifications, note the difference

The best way is to read Quran regularly with understanding and be close to the Sunnah of the Messenger. As for the different scholars, most have much good in them and something that is not good. Nowadays most Scholars, including those in Muslim lands, are under political pressure to propound a certain view. So take from them what is good and ignore the the bad or anything about which you are uncomfortable.
May Allah guide us all and forgive our mistakes. Ameen
May Allah protect the ummah from getting into vain arguments and may Allah unite the ummah on the Qur'an and the sunnah.

SubhanAllah, no one with an IQ in the one-digits would ever assume that Shaykh Yasir is trying to separate us from the Ulema of Islam. The context is so clear that even a child in elementary school could make out what Shaykh is saying about the application of Fiqh at different times & places (which is a well known principle in Islam)!
...but those whose intellect has been blinded by their personal hatred and envy just don't seem to get it and only cause harm to themselves by slandering our Teachers and giving away their good deeds to them! - may Allah guide them and bless them with Prophetic manners, ameen.

I am 2 minutes and 19 seconds into the video. I had to pause it to bring to surface my questions. Yasir Qadhi states that he tries to avoid criticism, he tries to avoid critiquing- but this is the deen of Allah- not the deen of Yasir Qadhi! We are talking about the message that has been conveyed to us by our noble Prophet peace and blessings be upon him unadulterated. Does Yasir Qadhi- or if he is reading this- do you, Yasir Qadhi believe staying silent when major errors are being made by people and corrupting the deen of Allah and causing deviation amongst the people- do you believe it is appropriate to remain quiet for the sake of maintaining bonds and peace with the people? Will you sever the ties with Allah and his Rasool Sallallahu Alayhi wa aalihi wa Salam for the sake of maintaining harmony between the people? Is your methodology based on love at the cost of conveying the message of the one whom you claim to love? I pose this question to you, your supporters and those who remain on the fence about what you say. At one point in my life I thought "Wow Yasir Qadhi!" But I have grown up and learnt and listened to our scholars, the real scholars, those who have grown old learning, those who stick to the Qur'an, Sunnah and Salaf and their honest students, those who traverse upon Salafiyyah who clarify your mistakes and those who are similar to you. This is not the deen of Yasir Qadhi we are talking about, this is not about the manhaj of Yasir Qadhi, this is not about love and fame or power and politics. It is about truth, about standing with the haqq, about defending the sunnah and if you would only see that those who warn against you are only reducing the numbers you will be responsible for missguiding on yawm al qiyamah then perhaps you would thank them and not defend this shoddy stance on 'lets keep quiet and not critique.' Brother I think the older we are the wiser we will be and with more Ilm we have we will have different view on our stances. This is what happen to Mr Yasir Qadhi as it was to Imam Shafei RAH thus he had another kitab on his older years. Its just human nature but at the on of the other Allah SWt is the most Rahman wa Rahim and alimul Hakim. So seek forgiveness and guidance from him and in shaa Allah we will not be astray.

There’s a huge difference between criticism and correcting a person with the wrong Dawah . By the way it’s Sunnah to correct when something is wrong or is against Quran and Sunnah.

Madiha Khalid Obviously, there are economic reasons, social reasons, so on and so forth. This is where the judgement and wisdom of the ulama is tested.
Madiha Khalid...learn to know Fiqh and Sheria. Sheria is fixed n unchangeable like for example haram/halal in one place is haram/halal everywhere. Fiqh can change from place to place depending on the situation, place and time.

What YOU SHOULD do is ask the one who is most knowledgeable, reputable and is known to refer back to the evidence! SubhaanAllah ya rabbi. Our scholars are known. As salaamu alaiykum. Of course you are right about that but do you realize that that was the beginning of Islam... That was the beginning stage of scholarism. They go study and learn from the sahabas so that they go back to their countries and lands to teach what they had been taught. Simple. They were students of knowledge who spend many years even till old age and if they went back to their lands to teach... Would they not be considered scholars? Do you know the process and definition of a scholar? There are many different scholars this day in age alhamdulilah. Look how easy allah made it for us subhanallah. And here we are having evil thoughts of our brothers and sisters for no reason but from shaytaan. Of course you must make sure and observe that what they teach adheres the al quran and sunnah as well as by action. Do we not fear Allah? I am a kaffir and found myself very interested in this man. I have no idea if he is well versed but if he was teaching at the East London Mosque he must have some respect in general.
His mixing of of the spiritual and the tangible seems just and common sense but requires someone to think deeper than the words on a page. Sadly most people in the world cannot think deeply and so many prefer the literal, hard line Imams. I see on here much hatred towards him. This division of opinion is a strength and a weakness. The Catholics have the Pope and his word is final on changes to interpretation. When the Pope is a good man, good things follow but when he is not, suffering follows. I ask of you all some questions.
If you do not like one Imam's teachings, do you just change Mosque until you find an Imam who agrees with your ideas?
If so, are you not in effect making your own interpretation?
Is that acceptable or must you always have an Imam?
Jack Martin good afternoon brother although you asked a long time ago give me the permission to try to respond. If you like the way of teaching of a scholar and your knowledges are at the basic level then stick to that scholar till you can identify the methodology through which this knowledge is derived. For example we have 4 main schools of thought in sunni islam which ever you learn from it is good but once your knowledge increase you will realize that these 4 schools differ sometimes on big issues if your heart is firm about the truth and you can scholarly exhaust yourself to find the reasons behind the differences then after comparing different opinions you can follow the one that you feel is the right one, I do not advise anyone to just try to interpret things on their own, verily every single portion of our religion requires at least one or two exhaustive studies of the matter, the average person is not qualified to just interpret cause they usually do not dedicate that much time and researches to the topics yet they dare to disagree with the scholars about. If you want to study islam there are many good students of knowledge and frankly I would advise your local mosque's imam if it is a sunni one (cause there are other branches that are frankly bringing in weird ideologies about Islam), cause learning by interacting is better nonetheless yasir qadhi is a good teacher, he teaches islam in the orthodox fashion yet facing the realities of nowadays . My message was a bit long excuse for that . I hope that you find out what you are looking for. Have a nice day 😊

I am a one for believing that good ideas require good intellect rather than sophistry to understand. That is to say that if I require many years of study to even begin to understand, your ideas must be unclear. I could teach you the philosophy of the ancient Greeks in a day. The subtleties would take a lifetime to live through but the ideas are clear.
You do not mention Shia Islam. As a protestant Christian, I am drawn to the alternative by nature. It was Britain's defiance against the orthodoxy of Rome that created the world in which we all live today so I would be interested to learn what you think of Shia Islam.

Jack Martin to be honest with you I cannot totally do justice to the shia ideology as an outsider, in islam 90% are following sunni teaching which means that, they believe in the divine Scripture quran and they believe that the prophetic tradition has been perfectly preserved by the companions of the prophet . Now shia means a fraction in the beginning it was just a political movement created to support the idea that after the prophet only his family should be in charge of the Muslims, as you know islam also encourage us to have a state. Basically the prophet indirectly pointed out who he wanted as the successor of the cause and that was his right hand Abu bakr as-sidiq and up until 20 years finally Ali bin abi talib the cousin of the prophet became the khalif as everybody wanted. Shia's are first unhappy at the fact that other than the prophet's blood had the opportunity to rule and slowly but surely differences became theological, they made propagandas against the companions of the prophet who maybe did not choose Ali as the successor and after Ali his son, and they started to reject the statu of those people making their testimony inappropriate about the religion. So basically sunnis believe that all the companions that strove with the prophet deserve to be teachers but shia limited the number to a handful of people. It sounds trivial but really important nonetheless a shia also believe in Allah as the only God and Muhammad as the messenger and servant of God, they also believe that a Muslim should pray 5 times day and be charitable and fast during the month of Ramadan. But nowadays they started to have bizzare ideologies like making pilgrimage to the place where Ali's son was killed as part of the religion although we only have the makkan kaba as a place of pilgrimage. I'm afraid that in a single message I wouldn't do justice the differences but if you want my opinion mainstream sunni islam is much more authentic because of the methodology. And when I mentioned the necessity to study it is because of the importance of the matter, I could give you broad guidelines about islam but it wouldn't do justice to the cause not because it is crooked, it is crystal clear . With respect, I do not agree with brother Yasir, Islam is complete and what is Haram is Haram and what is Halal is Halal, yes I agree taking the lesser evil is always better, but only when you have no other choice, going by what the brother has said many will fall into Sin and many will abuse this. See, you make this point that perhaps it would be best to ask the person who understands how the underground works- firstly this is a poor example but secondly it makes the assumption that no one but the one who already knows the underground can help. False. See, in Islam the scholars will learn about a situation before they speak! If it meant learning about a suppossed "london underground" they would do it and you know what the benefit is here? Ok 3:14. By the logic of Yasir Qadhi, we need to ask people who 'understand.' Did everyone forget that RasulAllah sallahu alayhi wa salam lived in a society with less homosexuals than us, in a society where women probably covered up more than what we see, in a society that didnt run banks per se, yet this whole deen has been explained to us by him- sallallahu alayhi wa salam! There were no cars, no planes, no phones, no tvs. He sallallahu alayhi wa salam gave us the principles and has equipped us with enough. Sufficient are the scholars of the East- in fact, asking these so-called western scholars is not a remedy but a disease because they will answer based on their desires and based on their logic- not based on proof. This deen is not based on invidual logic but on trusted proof. SubhaanAllah.

Seems to me the quran is on the side line now. And what has taken over is hadith, fiqa, etc. Rarely you see these scholar saying things from quran. It's imam shafi, malaki, hanbali, hanafi. Seems to me they have confused the umma from Islam with having too many books.and everyone pulling in all directions.
