I'm a member of an ICTU affiliated trade union and I've just watched the entire show (not just this clip). Jack O'Connor should not be appearing on current affairs programes. If SIPTU need to send someone, it should be a more composed individual. It is hard to believe that this stunt by O'Connor wasn't in direct response to Browne's quite obvious point that 4 years after being elected the bill about collective bargaining hasn't materialised, despite being in the programme for government between FG & Labour. O'Connor maintained that this bill would be introduced before the next election, to which Browne made the obvious response "How do you know?". Almost everyone appearing on Irish current affairs programs (representing political parties and other organisations) treats viewers with near or total comtempt and still expect to be treated as if they are honest, reasonable and professional people.

I just hate O'Connor's whole line. He pretends as though the Labour Party is still walking around with people like Connolly and Larkin. Another influential figure that no one knows about is William X. O'Brien. He was co founder of the Labour Party and had extremely radical views along with Larkin and Connolly for their time. He requested of the Irish Free State that Leon Trotsky should be given asylum. I may not agree with Trosky's politics or his followers but the point I'm trying to make is that there may be a reason why O'Connor, SIPTU and Labour might conveniently have no one hear of him. Political Gain. If people take on the message of Larkin, Connolly and O'Brien they're going to completely change Ireland and end up changing the world. We can speculate whether or not in the long run that would be beneficial or not but at the end of the day literally everything today is smoke and mirrors crafted by elites that include O'Connor and the Labour Party.

Classic Brown. What waa weird about that show is theyd have the commercial break about 5 minutes from the end so there was no chance of the politicians running down the clock. He did a fantastic grilling of Stephen Donnelly when he joined Fianna Fail.
Such a shame that there is absolutely nobody in Irish broadcasting who will call people to account.

"Hit the road Jack. . ." Jack's 'brain' (for want of a better word) stopped developing in his childhood. It will always amaze me how idiots can earn top dollar and reach high positions in society. Jack earns employer's wages, while claiming to speak for employees. I wonder what social circles he moves in?

mick Dunne Jack o Connor is not a coward in my own words jack is a fine looking man. there has being a lot more Td's and business people who wouldn't appear on these politics programme . the refused to face up due to their actions and involvements. there were in .themselves. he didn't like Vincent 's interrogation on him to keep answering on the question is was asked apparently Vincent didn't accept the answer jack was giving so he kept on ridicule him for appropriate answer.
I naively used to think that SIPTU worked for the employees and not themselves, until I went to staff rep training a number of years ago. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. SIPTU's main goal was to indoctrinate others and spread their gospel, get more members, and therefore increase their coffers.
So I am not surprised that O'Connor pulls a stunt like this. As long as there is something that gets them attention they are happy. I seem to remember that the canteen had good food and was subsidised That was a plus point!
So here we are 2024 and labour party have hit road too so jack wasn't only back den 😂😂😂😂😂 labour party are comedy club 😂😂😂.
