I'm really enjoying watching your journey through all this, really kicking myself in the ass to get out there this spring in the ol town canoe and do some exploring up here in PA. Hey, I know this is a few weeks old but just an FYI, you were saying if you "HAD" to get underway with that bivy set up, you could. We had a saying in the service, "Train as you fight, fight as you train". Really a good idea to set it all up and do it, while the weather is nice and you can easily jump in to retrieve anything that blows off. Cause you now, if it come down to a "HAVE" to scenario, chances are very good, the weather has turned and if you loose anything in the environment, it's lost(more then likely). So perfect your set-up, double redundancy tie downs, pelican case(or equivalent) for emergency survival great with floats attached and a coiled up rope with a carabiner and a key float, stuffed into the handle. Hell, I could go on and on(yeah, I'm the guy that's prepared for the most random shit you can think of without being a prepper lol).

Wow, she’s quiet. I used to love to fall asleep at night listening to the lapping waves. Mom used to say I was born on a boat as I have been boating since 6 months old but not since I moved to AZ. Perhaps I can drive the 6 hours to Rocky Point, Mexico or San Diego in the future???

Hi Trip, I installed Navionics on my smartphone and it works great. I just retired from 21 years in the Coast Guard AUX and I have used a lot of GPS units. I use Navionics more than any other GPS. It is well worth the $15 a year and it's free for 30 days. There are some free GPS apps that work well also. (Polaris is a good free one) With those nice boats you have now, you are going to need backup GPS. Good luck

Hey thanks John! I have the app, navionics and Simrad (free version I guess) and I like it. Just wondering how well it would work when cell coverage is non existent?

Ever try the slide box anchor? I switched to it from the danforth style and it’s been great! Holds in the muddy bottoms real good and does not require any chain rode. Also doesn’t require a 3:1 scope and folds up to make it compact. Loving the videos Trip as always. Can’t wait for spring time 👍

Love the trips you do. I get ideas for what you do even. I’m now getting stuff to make the motor mount and hopefully I’ll start up a RUclips channel as well lol. I have pontoon boat and the 60hp is a good motor. I think you will be happy it. Hope test the small 50cc motor on expandacraft soon too.

Well Trip I've been watching you for a long time. What drew me in was the kayak camping. Nothing too fancy and something everyone can easily get in to.
I'm just not into this whole power boat thing. It's cool and all but not the simple 3 day paddle down the river kayak camping that I enjoy. There's just something more pure about it.
I hope you get back to making those videos.

When adding a bigger motor like that sometimes it’s to large to tilt, raise and lower motor inside a small platform. I own a welding and fabrication shop and do mainly marine fab I get tons of platforms in needing to be raised in order for a larger outboard to fit.
