Quality of life suggestion: if you're doing a lot of heavy knife work with your cutting board, putting down a damp kitchen towel or damp paper towel underneath the cutting board will help keep it from sliding around. Lovely video.
Proud of you for making broth! That is something I do; I keep a gallon sized zipper bag in the freezer with veggie scraps (insides of peppers, celery that has gone soft, root part of onions) and throw that into the pot with the bones and it gives it such a good flavor. I think “I’m making something of nothing” when making broth.
Also if you cook broth in the instant pot with meat bones for 2 hours -using chicken turkey whatever with the veggies - carrots celery and onions and add a couple tablespoons of apple cider vinegar it will make a bone broth which is so medically beneficial for you- store in fridge if you don’t have a canner- the vinegar leaches the minerals and healing properties of the marrow into the broth
You can make our own syrup for much cheaper using sugar, brown sugar and water, with a few drops of vanilla extract. Tried this for the first time myself this week and omg it was SO good! Benefit is no high fructose corn syrup, so its so much healthier too. Keep up the good work ,recently had one of your vids recommended and have been binging ever since! Placing a pan of water in the bottom of your oven really helps with getting a crust on your homemade bread too, gives a great artisanal feel!
cheese crumbles from being frozen. Doesn't matter if it's for 1 hour. But as you said it tastes the same and melts the same so it's still worth freezing if you get a good deal. Did you know you can cook chicken skin like you would bacon? Then crumble it as a garnish on casseroles or salads. The fat you render off can be used as a lard replacement in a pie crust for a pot pie or in dumplings or anywhere you'd be fine with chicken flavor added. I save it in a jar in the fridge. :) Of course you got a good deal on those crusts.
Man!! I was looking for them in my clearance section after Christmas and only found hot cocoa pancakes! I would have seriously stocked up on them!!❤️❤️😍
A gallon of milk in PA is about $5. Those frozen veggies would be at least $3 around here, for the 20 oz size. Heavy whipping cream would be about $3.50 - $4.50 for a quart. I never buy potatoes unless they are $1.99 or less for a 5 lb. bag, so I don't know what the true cost in this area is.
I know some folks are different in opinions but if it was in your panty it would be free to me because you did not have to buy it at the time Love your meals and how you make sales work for you and clearance and coupons make me dance lol
I don’t really have a recipe, I just slow cooked a whole chicken in with some veggies and then added some water. I let it slow cook for 8 hours on low.
@@CookiesandBacon22 I use a carcass, or some other bones, or a combination of both, the skins, water, vinegar if I remember, some salt and pepper, chopped celery, carrots, and onions. After cooking for many hours, I scoop out the bones and the skin, and any gristly and gross stuff, and throw all of that away. Pack it away in quart size Hefty freezer containers (that are probably almost 50 years old). Some of it I use right away, by adding Italian seasoning, and some cooked noodles. Or add about a quart of it to an envelope of dry chicken noodle soup mix, with about half the water called for on the pkg.
I'm not a bread maker so hopefully someone else will comment, but I think a hand mixer would not be strong enough. Stand mixers use a dough hook that is a lot more powerful than beaters. You could always do it by hand 😬. I know someone who got a bread maker at a thrift store and just lets the BM do the kneading but then she'll bake the loaf in the oven, so that's one way to go, too.
You can use a hand mixer for a little while until it starts getting too thick, then switch to a spoon and/ or hands. It saves a little bit on muscle fatigue from stirring and mixing. 😊❣️
If you don't mind me saying, you have to clean your chicken and remove all that guck and slime from the back of the thighs. I use cold water and vinegar or lemon juice to clean my chicken.
Unfortunately, people believe meat depots are safe and refuse to clean anything. I know for a fact how disgusting they are, so I wash my meats with lemon or vinegar. I wash the sink and the whole area with bleach after I'm done.
Just a note- salt can deactivate yeast, so you want to wait & put it in after the yeast blooms. I love having homemade bread! Good video 😀
Didn’t know that! Thank you!

I use chicken broth with milk and corn starch to make cream of chicken for the pot pie 💜
I love chicken pot pie but when I make it I just use a top crust. That way I can use the other crust for something else. Great video!
Wow! 80 Meals!? That's amazing. Wait.... Do you mean servings?
You can prolong the life of yeast by storing in the freezer.

Or freeze in ice cube trays or 1 or 2 cups in containers. Store broth cubes in a bag or container in freezer. 😊❣️

Did you spray your loaf pans before placing bread dough in them to bake?
Yes, always!
I made bread this week too super good. I turned the leftovers into french bread and toad in the hole . Lol with the eggs in the middle of the bread .

Do you save all your veggie scraps to make broth? We save the scraps in the freezer until the gallon bag is full and then make broth with it!
I don’t but I’m gonna start. Putting it in the freezer is a great idea!
Amazing eggs for $2.00. Ours are $6.59 a dozen.
I honestly couldn’t believe it!
I unexpectedly have a family of 7 now. So I'm trying to find filling healthy meals for my family, most are men that eat a lot lol

Is it okay to use a hand mixer? I dont have a stand one.

I am surprised that no kneading was involved with this bread.
My husband love homemade bread...I dont it makes me very sick.
