Naayil showed us a great way to play into irelia but a major factor in him winning this game here was that this was a team diff and naut ivern ganked top multiple times to offset the disadv(which shud be a standard since irelia pushed 24/7)

In a counter matchup she’s trying to push prio or good trades to get ahead. Naayil played perfect, wait for teammates and get the resources you can get without dying

I am emerald pisselo but I think Naayil has mental block vs irelia. I have a lot of experience on both champs, and it can be fairly telegraphed where and when an irelia player will q a minion. If you're able to predict this, it's possible to cancel irelia q before it kills the minion, which puts irelia q on cooldown and gives you a large window to punish.
The frozen heart argument is also strange. Irelia's damage doesn't come just from bork (though a significant amount of it does), but from magic damage from onhit passive. She also tends to build wits end, which is more magic onhit damage. Frozen heart's attack speed slow is very valuable against onhit abusers, but you lose a significant amount of gold value from the mana. It's true that health doesn't affect bork, but it will still allow you to tank more of the magic onhit dmg that irelia outputs. Simultaneously, HP is also useful against the entire rest of the team, whereas frozen heart's armor may not be.
In other words, the argument for frozen heart against other items boils down to how valuable you think the attack speed slow from frozen heart is, as I would argue you lose more gold value from the mana then you do from HP (still useful against magic dmg from irelia and the other 4 members on the enemy team). I'm personally of the opinion that warden's mail + tabis should be enough

@@Pentagram666marfrozen heart is still better for what you get. Cheaper, better armor value, atk speed slow, and cdr which aatrox likes. Atk speed slow is better than crit reduction most of the time and it’s very strong against bork users like irelia.
Omen as a first buy may be better against wind brother or some crit champs but frozen heart is a way better first purchase pretty much always

I understand that armor is pretty good against Irelia, bork etc but arent the other Frozen heart stats eg mana wasted on aatrox? Isnt it better to go randuins? Yea it gives him hp but that would help him regardless cuz he gains relative armor too.
no because frozen heart even if it gives u mana which is yeah wasted on aatrox, it still gives ability haste unlike randuin.randuin gives u hp but for nothing and at least frozen heart makes up for the wasted mana with the ability haste.
