    I’m fully convinced the steam remaster is broken. I am not the best at games and I have been in awe at your ability to breeze through fights that I struggled with in other games. I remember blazing through the game and thought it was easy on the PS2. I’m blown away at your play through - I don’t remember enemies spamming attacks or struggling to heal like you did.
    I watch your streams bc I enjoy watching you play the games I also loved playing. It’s even cathartic watching you get annoyed and frustrated at the same points I did. This wasn’t that. This was watching you play a broken game. It’s miserable for everyone.
    I don’t do horror so I will be back after Silent Hill. I hope you come back to the rest of the FF series.

    Respect 100%
    I always say this: FF 10 was my first in the series and i loved it. Felt like the game for me. Then i tried FF 12 and i didn't like it at first so i went back to 10. Then i came across its sequel and i hated so f'ing much that i went back to FF 12, which is now my favorite Final Fantasy to date and i haven't touched FF 10 since.
    That's how much damage FF X-2 did to me. So yeah! Respect!!!

    Rex i feel you on this game, i cant tell you how many times i played this game, stopped, went back, stopped, went back and finally beat the game to never play this again. The mechanics and design feel like the player is constantly at a disadvantage (and even while grinding and ap farming for hours) it sometimes hardly makes a difference. Its a hard pill to swallow; it's an aquired taste for gamers. It's hit or miss. I played it once, beat it once, and havent touched this game since. Its one of those man. Every time i see people mention 100%ing the game, i pray for them and their sanity. No idea what the developers thought about this one.

    The whole 2 attackers and a healer is just a base line for people to get accustomed to the battle system. Gradually, the player could start branching out, using skills, etc and mix things up. Honestly, I didn't use healer that often when I played. 3 attackers can usually bum rush enemies.

    You gave it an honest try and didn’t work out. That okay! Play something that’ll genuinely put you in a good mood. You were a little under leveled (probably from skipping some content in Chapter 1 and 2) but even then the battles shouldn’t have been that intense. Could be something wrong with the Steam version.
    All in all it was good run all things considered.

    It has to be said, you ARE just bad at the game. But that's to be expected of anyone playing something for the first time, especially when there happen to be mechanics not fully explained in the game itself. However, there are things I noticed while watching you play, and even in this video, that have severely hindered my ability to trust your opinion on the game. To start, I will be the one to say it, you can pause the game.....just pause it and take a second to think out what you need to if it helps. Or since you have the "wait" function on just go into a menu and reassess what's going on at that moment, if that's too frustrating of a means to get that semblance of a true turn based battle system but looking for and implementing a mod isn't...I don't know what to say to that. Regarding the statements that you don't NEED to grind since the game is pretty easy, that is due to how the game is setup expecting you to visit the other areas in a chapter which is why the chests are restocked in the first place. But if you're going to actively ignore going to those places while also just turning off encounters all together at times, I don't know what else you should expect other than fights you aren't prepared for. On top of that you have made some pretty confusing decisions that have led to a game over, such as just with your last stream on Gagazet. You had an injured Yuna and a poisoned Paine, neither of which were taken care of in between battles, then when you do get into a battle you opt into having Paine use assault before dealing with either of those issues. Even in the fight with Ifrit at the end you could've tried to get Paine into her special dressphere since you weren't having luck with getting the other two back up. With that said however, I still believe that parts of those situations are completely up to still getting a grasp on the game as a whole, but as I mentioned at the start that does NOT mean the game is bad just because you failed to adjust to the game.
    Now, I apologize in advance if this comes off as rude or potentially belittling, however this next bit was a larger reason as to having lost interest in continuing with watching your playthrough and tonality is obviously lost in text. The moment where you fought against Bahamut and questioned "Why is the music so sad?" Obviously people forget things, it happens, but I don't think it's very common to forget crucial story elements of a game that you had played just a handful of months ago and even touted as one of your "favorite stories." The criticisms on the story don't hold weight with me due to both that and the lack of effort to actually go out and explore the game itself. You do mention in a stream that you need to finish the game so you can move on to other games, that's a bit of a red flag to me in regards to an earnest attempt to engage with what you're about to play. To me it felt less like "I'm here to check out the contents of the game" and more along the lines of "I'm only here to make content on this game."

    • @Shifft-This
      @Shifft-This 2 дня назад +4

      I didn't watch his stream but why would you play an RPG designed with random encounters but then disable the encounters? The entirety of the game is designed around the level of your group being boosted by the encounters you face while clearing a zone. Disabling encounters is asking to get stomped. Clearing an area and fighting those fights is not "grinding". Grinding is intentionally staying in an area longer than the game intends to artificially boost your levels.
      If he did disable encounters it is without a doubt the reason he was unable to finish the game. When the game came out you couldn't disable the encounters and as far as I'm concerned if youre able to now on the Steam version it shouldn't allow you to... otherwise you kind of deserve to get trounced.

    • @Syrenos183
      @Syrenos183 2 дня назад

      @@Shifft-This The remaster edition has extra settings that allow you to increase or disable the encounter rate, and in all fairness the default rates can be a bit much at times. But given how quickly you can clear fights out in X-2 they aren't that big of a deal really. He didn't have them off at all times just to be clear, but it was a regular thing, and I don't entirely see that as a problem if you've already out leveled the zone you are in.

      Starting with XII, you needed to really dive into systems just to beat the games.
      I'd argue the modern FF's are far harder in terms of gameplay, VII remake for example needs you to be on the ball far more and not just because it's partially action.

  • @ladydubhblossom
    @ladydubhblossom 2 дня назад +1

    i feel like this is a common complaint for the remastered version. They really did tweak it in a weird way even on the PS editions for the monster encounters and they spike in locations with the turn system either skipping or pushing enemy turns. It seems like the steam version is the one that is having the most trouble especially with the crashing on top of it.
    I'm someone who likes to grind, and i was even trouble in some sections of this version of the game, but no where near what you've been experiencing.
    that's unfortunate really, its understandable if you want to quit it all together or even just put it down and come back to it. It can be super frustrating, and sometimes its just better to leave it alone for a while, your no slouch to completing games either.
    for now its best to play games your enjoying and have fun, if you ever want to come back you've got a support group waiting to help

      Thank you for the kind comment. I've already posted multiple highlight videos so if I do another video on FFX-2, it'll be because I'm giving it a second chance. I actually wanted to do the same with Inquisition. I have a feeling I would agree with you about how it's aged. I'm super nervous about Veilguard but that's mainly because I don't want BioWare (as a company) to be in jeopardy if it flops and, even if BioWare survives, I'm nervous poor sales of Veilguard might put DA on ice. I'm still going to play it Day 1 though! Hopefully it'll be another Silent Hill 2 situation where ppl have low expectations but the game comes out and blows everyone away!

    FF should feel like a not taxing vacation. Its a big part of the appeal to me. It's never been a snobby "get gud" series, part of the appeal was getting overpowered due to finding secrets in the world and levelling masses of enemies. And there was multiple playstyles to achieve all that, all as good as each other.

    FF X-2 never felt right to me. I don't like the tonal change in relation to its predecessor.
    I get why some people like this game, but sometimes it's just not for everyone.
    I would really like to see the full playthrough of Silent Hill 2 Remake.
    But whatever you do, im lurking in the dark and trying my best to support your chanels!

    My man can't handle the battle system, downloads a broken mod to try and get around it and it breaks his game. 😂😂
