I Got Surprising News From The Doctor… (Health Update)

  • This video was a hard one for me to make. If it encourages one person to go to the doctor, then it was worth it.
Also, I want to note that it can be hard to find a doctor that a good fit for you. Just because one doesn't work out, doesn't mean you should never go again. You are worthy of good medical care, and I want to acknowledge it might take some work to find the best fit for you. To find my doctor I did a ton of research using zocdoc and other medical review sites to find a doctor who had a track record of listening to and working with patients. That worked out really well for me.

I know receiving a diagnosis is scary and you definitely have to process the information. Now that you know your enemy (or are on the way to knowing), you will know exactly where to focus your fight. That can be empowering! I personally found that being able to look back at my life and say “Oh, that makes sense now” to be unburdening. I hope you will too. Much love Anna! ❤

The honesty of your videos has kept me coming back time after time. This video hit hard! Why is it ok to share an opinion about someone you don’t know just cause they’re on social media? What we see on our screen is such a small snippet of what your life entails. As someone who deals with a chronic “hidden” illness and is plus size I deeply resonated with that anger and frustration you expressed in this video. Listening to my body was the best change I’ve ever made. I will never be a size 2, but my goals are far more reasonable…being able to walk comfortably for longer periods of time and walking upstairs without getting so out of breath. I wish you the continued courage to listen to your body and do what you need to do for your well-being regardless of anyone else’s opinion. 💕

I think it's a complex issue you really can't blame yourself for.
As an example, I was finally diagnosed with celiac disease about 5 years ago. I told myself for a long time I was just eating too much junk food, or it was just stress.
Finally telling doctors about my angry poops felt embarrassing. I already had anxiety issues that were made worse with weeks of tests and seeing specialists. Then of course living in the US, I ended up spending thousands of dollars, even with decent insurance. Should I have gone earlier? Yeah for sure. But I finally did, and now I can take better care of myself.
At the end of the day we're all just doing the best we can.

I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and severe severe anemia in January of 2020. I had several rounds of iron infusions and the last round was like a really intense round of infusions and literally to the day 2 weeks after I got it, I felt like I could run a marathon. I hope you can get something similar! And know how it feels to be in your shoes and get these diagnoses. And I'm so sorry, but you are strong and fierce and you're going to find a way through it. Much love!

The message here is so vital for all women especially as our concerns tend to be downplayed and minimized by doctors. We deserve to feel good in our lives and bodies and to be listened to, and not scolded by medical personnel. I can relate to so much of what you said. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

Anna I hope you see this comment- Lipedema can cause iron deficiency anemia (I myself need iron transfusions). It's also a connective tissue disorder which can cause a lot of symptoms & have comorbidities. Please look more into Lipedema & EDS
