My favorite setup is the jab because I’m really good at it and have long reach and fight out of the long guard. Love the front kick too but in sparring i rather not because that makes my partners gassed pretty quick and it hurts way more. So what i usually do is set up the body jab. 5-6 body jabs later. I just feint it to see what’s their reaction. Then i just do a variety of shots from there. Like body jab - cross head, body jab-head jab, body jab - lead hook head, body jab - overhand right and if you feel your opponent is really fast you don’t even have to land the jab just pump it and land the second shot trust me this is so good.
I've been starting to focus on people's favorite responses and started setting up situations that initiate those responses. Especially if I can bate and defuse a defense they're confident with.
I do that and definitely started doing it about intermediate level. Make them respect one technique and you can start taking advantage of the reaction 😊
I prioritize a lot of my fakes off front kicks Gabriel, which I find to work really well for me, but I have got to try the rest of these and create my own unique ones as well! Awesome video! 🥊
This is pretty cool. I’m gonna write out my idea here so I have it written down: - I like to fight southpaw and my fav is the left straight - I throw it pretty quick so they’re either gonna A. Close their guard and eat it on their forearms or B. Throw a teep to stop me. I don’t have a lot of issues with people parrying or timing it with roundhouse kicks so I’ll deal with that if/when it comes up - if they A. Close their guard to block, that should leave their body/leg open for a kick after the cross. If they B. Throw lead leg teep I can parry with left hand and throw looping left hook. Or parry with right hand and throw high kick. - so I guess that’s one way to use it to set up other strikes. But how can I land it more? - couple ideas, reverse the first counter by throwing left kick to left straight (even Superman punch style). Which means I’ll have to throw the left kick more to get them reacting to protecting their body. People like to catch my kicks so I’ll have to work on retracting quickly and escaping leg catches - find other ways to open the guard/split it to land a cross down the middle. Potentially hook-cross combos, or tactics to get the outside angle
can you record a video about flow state? what should we thinking in a fight, because when i fight i might overthink next steps or just throw random things, how do we balance the action with thoughts
Work on a bag more so you can never make a mistake in technique. If your throwing random stuff at least you know technique is good Then spend more time light sparring with someone whos not taking advantage. That mentality comes with time but you will have to focus on developing certain ideas. You cant just spar and wait for it to work
@@anotherinternetperson8495 my problem is overthinking, i always try to guess what will happend in fight after i kick and how he responds and things like that and that makes my reaction slow
You don't think. You do. Because if you think, you have a gap . You can't think to long . That's why some people say this sport is good for crazy people
@Giorgi_Shalamberidze I'd suggest finding a good sparring partner you trust, and really focus on slowing things down and breathing. See the strikes coming(yes it's scary), and your body will eventually react naturally. In those crazy exchanges, remember to breathe and get out of there or just breathe to see things more clearly. Have to stay calm under the fire.

Did Gabriel say if it's better to invest in a heavy bag or a "Bob"?
Heavy bag 100%
A heavy bag is a lot cheaper
Did your graphic designer quit? 😂 jk, love the vid, love thumbnail
What's that on your knee? Just a plaster/bandaid?
It is an adhesive strip that is used for knee support as Gabriel does some hard running training during his fight camps.
Gabriel's dad - Keith Varga
@kvarga9164 I've been there with knee and shin pains with running being that I prefer incline running. It builds up the gas tank.
