When Anuradha came in 90's. She failed both Lata ji and asha ji. Hence both Lata ji and Asha Tai were jealous of Anuradha ji. Anuradha lost her son at the age of 20. So she almost stopped singing. But aap 3 singers are great.
Listened to versions of both Shreya and all upcoming covers but Anuradha ji and Abhijeet ji brought the feeling. The pining longing was only here and in the original. This is an example of what is great rendition and what is generational transcending rendition
Anuradha's singing comes really close to Lata's though it misses a bit of the playfulness of this song. But Kishore's rendition completely towers over Abhijeet's cover version in terms of voice quality, voice throwing, and feel.
Good observation. Lata ji uses amazing voice control. Her voice throw in every line is going up and down as per the moods of the lyrics which is totally unnoticed by many of the singers who tried to copy her. She doesn't sing every word with the same "amplitude" or throw. Anuradha ji doesn't get this point right. I doubt she ever observed this point. Abhijeet misses many of the slight nuances of the Sur implemented by Kishore Kumar. Since KK does all things extremely delicately eg vibrato, many do not even notice is while copying him and hence sing the song FLAT-LY. To summarise, both Kishore and Lata were experts in hiding their style from their copy cats but using these same nuances in style they made songs immortal.
