Never thought of using Tableau this way. This tutorial shows a totally new approach to deal with data. This is a gem of a tutorial.
    Can't thank enough.

Thank you. At least 10 years working on Tableau and I have never seen anyone not even from Tableau marketing guys showing this detailed explanation.

No other channel can match the level of detail you present in your videos. You have astounding level of dedication and it shows. Even though I am aware about SQLs , I would love to learn everything from scratch from you from beginning to advanced. I know I will be able to learn things which I had no idea about

Excellent, please do the same with Power BI too. I always thought Tableau might execute some window functions but instead it leverages basic methods of SQL, probably for hyper optimization. Also include difference in Relationship or Join

    • @sqlbelle
      @sqlbelle  Год назад +3

I agree! I thought I would see some window functions too. I havent quite explored INCLUDE/EXCLUDE yet, but my guess is those may be using correlated subqueries. We'll see :)

Thank you, this was very helpful. I am interested in knowing how INCLUDE and EXCLUDE work as well. I tend to never use INCLUDE/EXCLUDE because FIXED seems much more intuitive.

Hey absolutely loving your content, 👍, also I would like to know if there is any way we can use table calculation function like window_sum, window_max etc or ATTR fn in our LOD Calculation??

  • @karcolom

Very informative! Looks like you need sysadmin fixed server role or ALTER TRACE permission. Not sure I’ll get that permission, oh well. Do you know if Snowflake has something similar?

Hi Donabel, in tableau order of operations sets are above dimension filter, does that mean sets does not get affected by dimension filter, cuz i have created a set on a date field and using same date field as filter on dashboard, while updating date field the date set is getting affected. Is my understanding wrong?
Thanks in advance for ur help🙂

Could you please create a video demonstrating how to implement real-time currency conversion in a Tableau Dashboard? The video should include a parameter or filter that displays the currency of different countries. When a user selects a currency they want to view, the dashboard should update in real-time to reflect the selected currency's conversion rates.

Hi, I was using Tableau Public version to proper name from Employee_Name
    aDINOLFI wILSONK
    aITSIDI kARTHIKEYAN
    aKINKUOLIE sARAH
    aLAGBE tRINA
    aNDERSON cAROL
    aNDERSON lINDA
    aNDREOLA cOLBY
    aTHWAL sAM
bACHIOCHI lINDA to proper with format. I use formula UPPER(LEFT([First Name],1))+LOWER(RIGHT([First Name],LEN([Last Name])-1)). It did the job but it also cut short some of the names. I wonder what I did wrong. Thank you.
