So this is the last gas station in Kazakstan (45°02'10.0"N 55°44'15.0"E) some 26km before the border, although I think there is one gas station just kilometer before border as well (44°54'14.0"N 55°59'13.8"E). 162km after the border there is a black market "gas station" at least based on "gas station info" web site. I was taking my first fuel Qonirat some 314km from the border. I've been told that some of gas stations are not selling gasoline, or could be closed. I had/ have 34 liters of my tank plus around 4 liters extra I had with me to be sure I survive without a problem (600km). You can always buy and take foldable gasoline bag, my was 4 liters one, when not using just place it within the pannier, not taking too much space.
