    This is a very interesting video! Thank you so much for sharing it! My ex-husband and I used to walk along the creek banks in Central Texas and we would load up 5 gallon buckets with paper shell pecans and take them home to dump into #10 wash tubs. In late October and early November we would take four #10 wash tubs full of paper shell pecans to a place north of Georgetown, TX and sell those pecans for 25 cents a pound.

    One of my best buddies, since passed away, was a walnut huller. He called that shaker a thrasher, I think. Man that guy would bring big bulk (unbranded) bags of the best pistachios and butter toffee nuts from the processer. We'd eat 'em 'till we just about got "bound up" as my grandmother used to say. She had lots of goos sayings, if we misbehaved she'd say "You better quit, or you're gonna find my hand on your head with a great big knot under it"

    i did not come up and talk to you,becouse we didn't know each other.
    I know that I am taller than You.
    I am not a haiter, Ilike You.

      Lots of work, Jerry, and this is just the harvest! We spray every tree twice a year, and do a lot keeping the groves looking good! We water baby trees three times a week all summer, but I love it!! Quite a bit yet to be done at the processor before they can be sold! Thanks!! Godspeed! jimmy

    Very informative video, Jimmy, but I was thinking the shaker would be a boom arm that would reach further up the tree. Nothing better than good fresh raw pecans, or pie, or cake, or anything with them in it. Thanks for sharing with everyone. 👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏

    • @TwinEagleRanch
      @TwinEagleRanch  5 лет назад +1

      It would be good to shake a little higher up, Gaston, where the tree was a bit smaller, but pecan trees are Pretty brittle! We would be breaking a few trees and that shaker is really heavy! We would need a big tractor to elevate that shaker!! For personal use, a long stick will get you as much as you can eat!! Lol. God Bless! jimmy

      i have a small orchard in brasil 160 trees i use the long bamboo and a rope tied in a piece of wood, trow the wood above the branches, the weight of the wood brings it down with the rope and you just have to shake it, it makes way less damage than bamboo
