Great tips thanks georgia 😊 loved this video. We use treat balls for ours, when they need to be in we also put piles of hay in the stable but have added "treats" to the piles of hay also. Thanks for the video looking forward to the next one.
Some good tips there. I feed Alfa-beet all year round as my mare can't have chaff - and she won't eat it if it's soupy! I bought a colander that pops out and folds flat for easy storage, and it is so useful for getting the ice out of the buckets! No more frozen hands trying to scoop ice out. You could also use it to scoop out any hay that gets in their water too - I don't need to do this as my mare loves fresh water so I redo her water twice a day, this also encourages her to drink as she can't resist fresh water!
The majority of Colic is caused by feeding dry hay, it causes impactions, especially for horses that are struck in too much during winter, therefore not able to move much and maybe not drinking enough, plus frost can cause it and frost can also cause Laminitis. My horses have always been fed seaweed and drink well even during winter and have wet hay to also give them moisture all year round, plus gets rid of dust. Thank you for doing this type of vlog as it will be very helpful to people and prevention is better than cure and horrible problems arising.😊
Always remember to keep horses hooves in great shape by cleaning daily and by using a product such as Effol Hoof Oil. It prevents cracks, laminitis, and thrush. ❤
You would make a brilliant presenter georgia, and great information xx
