Was going through the desc rules again and haha, thought I'd just add this here, assuming you're still asking that. I believe the reason many people ask for no channel watermarks is because they rather add the watermarks themselves in a "nicer pattern" (as in all the watermarks will be in the same font, same position, same opacity and so on) Some people find it distracting when the same video has like one simple but huge watermark at the top right corner, only for the watermark become some fancy-font blue thing in the middle, then once again become idk maybe some green and red watermark at the bottom left... Okay just some random examples but you get the idea. It can get real messy, so some people just wanna be "safe" 😭😭😭 And even if you tell everyone to put their watermarks at the same spot, there are a lot of other factors to consider in order to keep things "neat": font, size, colour etc. At least this is how it is for me 😭 Sorry for my rambling lol
