Thanks a lot, it helped me routing traffic between 2 different openvpns. In final configuration of rules i just set in openvpn server interface to use openvpn client gateway and works like a charm. Pfsense for some reason does not know how to share routes between different openvpn (client or server). Note that when you need to route ipsec traffic to openvpn its native and does not need any other configuration
by the way, my scenario is , pfSense client VM with many other VMs on a network behind Cisco Firewall, to a remote server with Open VPN Access Server behind Unifi. Perfect!
Great video, i have a question. If i have several VLANs, is there a way to configure the LAN to go through VPN so that i dont need to configure each VLAN? ive tried but doesnt seem to work
Strange network configuration - His set-up doesn't have a LAN interface, yet at 11:52 he has LAN interface and the WAN interface has disappeared, then at 12:43 It is a required interface for the firewall rule?? O_o I know I am getting old, but am I going mad, too??
@@Y2-_ There are 2 gateways involved in this configuration. Which one are you talking about? The gateway inside your network or the gateway outside your network?
Hi, Great video i almost did all the steps in your video but solution isn't working I want my spectrum and mobile portal (browsing) to run over VPN and Vonage (softphone portal) on normal group gateway my VPN Client is installed on PFsense can connect shows ip address, created LAN rules, and NAT rules as well but not working ... Moreover VPN client shows connected but VPN interface on dashboard shows offline
Hi Lawrence, I am one of your ardent followers and i think you are doing a great job Especially on your tutorials on pfsense. I have a little challenge i will want you to help me solve.I need help on how i can direct traffic out the physical WAN port on pfSense on which my openVPN routes to 1.I have configured the WAN on the physical WAN port from an ISP but by OpenVPN uses the WAN ip as the interface IP 2.I want to be able to see the subnet or traffic that comes from the openVPN. Can i get help on this.
Need Help: My customer is having a OpenVPN PFSense configured as Server and I(My Machine with Application) will be client with OpenVPN installed. Now I want to connect to the Server. This will be a site to site open vpn connection but with server having the PFSense with OpenVpn and Client (my Machine) is having the OpenVPN client without PFSesnse. Could ypu please let me know if this connection is possible ? If yes could you please share me the relevant articles, or information?
I know this is an old video, however, is there any way you can create one for wireguard? I'm having an issue with the created VPN gateways keep getting disabled after a reboot but because they are unknown/Invalid, pfsense is refusing to bring up. Works great when I first set it up but after a reboot, it is disabled.
Hi, I did pretty much the steps in your video. But I encounter very weird issues. I added more VPN clients to my pfSense. But the performance of the VPNs will suffer a lot if I add more. It's get worse if I add more firewall rule or traffic shaper. Do you know have any idea what might be the reason behind the performance hit? My CPU is an i5-5200U, and it supports AES acceleration. I have 8 gb of RAM. The CPU is not really being used at all even if the VPN's performance is not good.

Very good video. I was trying to do this last night, but all VPN traffic was going through the LAN. This helps alot.
Fantastic video! Straight forward. My missing piece was the Gateway Groups. Thank you.
Excellent video! You saved my sanity after 2 days of frustration. Really helped me understand the whole thing much better. Thanks buddy!
Thank you so much !!!!!! after many days thinking it was a subnet issue or routing issue, you video fixed ahhhhhh ! thank you!!!
Thank you mate! I totally forgot the passage to "set gatway" in rules!
Thnx mate, the Gatewaygroups fixed my issue, didn`t make sense for me to use but it works!
worked like a charm for my work to my house network! thanks

Is it possible to split some IP to use Mullvad VPN and others to use ISP and how would I go about doing it?
Can I do this with any vpn client provider like for example privatevpn or pia vpn?

I have only one gateway in routing settings
password changed to lower-case m for mullvad, subject to change I suppose. check your connection pack.
