  • Flying the SAB Piuma on a beautiful Friday afternoon. Clear blue sky confuses the focus on my camera, so there are a few blurry bits.

Fantastic and smooth flying, like always. What is your rotor head setup, which dampener and o-rings are you using?

Thank you! I'm running the 70/90 combo, but I also slightly sanded the delrin bits so they don't pre-load quite as much. As it turns out, I don't think I would have had to do any of that to get rid of low speed wobbles. Someone recently posted that he completely cured the wobbles by getting rid of the rubber dampers on the FBL tray! I'm about to switch mine over to VBar (currently Spirit) and I will remove those dampers at that time.

Love it. Hadn't heard of of the piuma... Just looked into it... Head speed hold fine on a 5000 mah I guess?!
How do you like it compared to a standard goblin or 12s feel?

Oh yeah, headspeed holds fine! That was at my middle headspeed (1600) with a bit at the end down at 1200. I almost never fly it at the highest (1800) it's just absurd at that speed. As for feel, I haven't flown a 700 in over 8 years till this, the last being the Protos 700. I don't really remember how it felt, I was too terrified to enjoy it! LOL You can set up a Piuma on 12s, and run smaller packs (2200-3600) and have ridiculous unboggable power if that's your thing.
