This is the first video I have seen that actually shows the correct lean Angle for take off. it's nice to revisit the basics and make the corrections necessary for easy quick take off I dont wanna run anymore than I have to and good posture just makes your take off look Effortless. Thank you Kyle great video!!
Learned a lot from that one Kyle. Running without leaning back drove my head into a Florida red ant nest one day. Got gas poured down my neck for desert.
Thank you Kyle. Weather has been ugly and my fields are still to soggy to use. But I can get out in the yard and try this for sure. Been trying to run and add power as I go but my back yard is a bit small and I kept running out of room to run.
Kyle, so true. I have had people tell me it looks like I am almost laying backwards when I progress through my takeoff run. I tell them that it is how to get off the ground right. They have to direct that thrust down to get up with the least effort. great video.
Great video Kyle! It was cool seeing your lean doing lean backs. You put it all in a way that reinforces what I've read and my instructors stressed...but seeing your demonstration and hearing your council really cleared up some stuff and reinforced it, driving it deep in the grey matter. Thanks man
WELL DONE, Kyle. This may well be the best Newbie launch technique video on RUclips. Most everything else out there is just a rehash of the same old stuff. Yup good job, I really like the specifics and actual demonstrations, this is the style and content that people can really learn a lot from. Now if it could only be tracked to actually see how much improvement will be achieved by those who apply this. Highest regards and I hope to get down your way this year and check in with you but if not maybe at a Fly-in.
Hey Kyle. I like the lean back method but it cost me a prop blade. During a fly in we were on a mowed cow field. The grass and brush were freshly cut but some long twigs must have been on the ground. I set up my wing risers spread and ready for a front launch. And before clipping in I stood forward of my risers by at least 18” from prop to where the risers lay. As I leaned back a twig got sucked in and grabbed my left riser and I heard a small ping and my riser launched backwards. One blade tip was busted but no damage was found on the riser or lines. Fluke accident for sure but I am not going to lean back for a run up again unless I am extremely far from my wing and on grass or a clear field.
Kyle I seen you talk about this about a year ago, it changed everything for me i was seldom able to get off the ground I was always falling forward. Learning to lean back balance on the run I seldom have a problem these days.
Great tip there Kyle, a real common sense approach which i will be practicing myself. this seems to be a great approach to foot launch and should facilitate a quicker and more controlled launch.
Hell yeah man! Good video, great content and new ideas for me to practice getting my lean on( proper posture) with the paramotor strapped to my back. Instructor has left the state twice now and since weather and location never allowed us the first radio flight all I've been doing is kiting for over a year. At least I can add something new to my practicing until the planets align and I can run up in the air but that probably won't happen untill spring sometime.... hopefully. Thanks again man! 🤘🌮🤘🌮🤘🌮
Hi Kyle,I was wondering if there is a way I can modify the present bicycle style throttle I have on my 2015 Blackhawk 90. I find it is a little to big to grip properly (I know TWSS) or my hand is too small!) this causes me to accidentally squeeze the throttle. It is too far between the lever and handle. I use my ring and pinky fingers for throttle, and pointer and middle finger on the brake toggle. Any suggestions you can provide (or video on how to grip differently) would be appreciated. I just rebuilt the carb and replaced the pull start rope and did some fine tuning, it runs perfectly!!! I'm getting about 6000 rpm on max throttle. Thanks also for all the great instruction videos and all your other escapades. Also becoming a big Funky Fella fan, I hadn't heard of them until on your videos.Wayne
Dude, learn how a chin strap works! 😂🤣😂 Only joking. We’re way better pilots because of your videos Kyle. You’re on your to becoming a PPG instructor god. Keep it up!
Three thoughts on why I don't lean back. 1) if the motor quits the cost of a new prop $450 2) during the takeoff run leaning back while applying pressure to hold yourself up you tend to fight again fwd acceleration. 3) I'm off in 60' or less in zero wind.
If the motor quits the prop won't get damaged, especially in a clutched motor. The only way to mess it up is by releasing the throttle while motor still running....
Hey Kyle I've been asking Dave at paramotor crazy and trike flyer to do a foot dragging contest for us paramotor guys on the interweb. I think you should join in on the fun👍
Both of your audio sources are lovely and crisp! Helmet is showing huge potential! Did you use the Sena mic again for this one? I'm guilt of that forward run, head down launch style. Its a paragliding habit! I'll run through this practice drill! 50% of a successful flight starts on the ground!
Hey brother can you share small video whit the conection you set up .to record you voice so clear on this video I will like to do something like that. Thanks brother
The whole time i was listening i was thinking thats the best sound quality from you yet while talking over a motor. Its not a dead cat so I wonder how it will perform in heavy wind.
So iv ordered everything I needed to get started. Already have the wing. Picking up new paramotor next week . Iv tried to learn everything I can from RUclips. I can drive every other vehicle pretty well from dirtbikes to track hoes. What are my odds of nailing it? Lol should I get an emergency chute?
HI Kyle... LOVE your videos and would like to embed some of them on our paramotor club website. Is that ok with you? No problem if not but they really are helpful for pilots, especially us newbies. Great work, many thanks
Kyle, do you know who the maniac Paramotor guy was who landed just outside the ring of a Riddick Bowe vs. Evander Holyfield fight at Caeser's Palace? Can't tell the type. It was covered in people trying to be the first to kick his ass. :)
(I am just an ordinary pilot with 20+ years of recreational flying, about 50 flight hours a year) Can't imagine why would one need to be doing this exercise... Try doing this with your wing - or something - laying behind... I want to say: you must lean forward at takeoff (or you mess your wing). So why training this? Just because "why not"? I find this exercise as useful as any other going outdoors with your motor, checking it starts, runs, sits allright, etc. But usually we go out with our gear for the purpose to fly - not to play. And by actually training the flying (including takeoff, midair and landing) we learn much more about thrust, harness, motor reaction etc - and with much more pleasant reward, I believe. So it does not look to me like a serious systematic "must" training. Besides, every training implies a possibility to fail. Imaging falling back or sideways by doing this: the normal reaction would be - yes - step back (notice: your heel was dangerously close to the full-spinning prop!) Eventually you can trip and sit down on your butt with full throttle on... Would you like it? As e.g. opposed to leaning forward - you just fall on your knees (also dangerous, but less, believe me!) and on your belly (and if you don't roll on your side falling on your belly - you and your gear are usually safe). So, thinking while writing this - sorry for long - I wouldn't actually recommend trying this trick more that couple of times - just for curiosity and to show-off, and if you are enough experienced only - not for any real beginner "training". Sorry for the disappointment. Thank you!
I've been making new pilots for many years. We do this excercise the first time they put on a motor. I want them to be comfortable leaning back while thrusting on takeoff. Leaning forward while doing a launch is NOT a good technique. Obviously, this is not something to do when the wing is laid out behind you. But, as soon as the lines clear the hoop, and it's time for thrust application, this technique is vital for a safe, near effortless taxi and takeoff! Give it a try sometime, and you may figure out how much better it is!
Best instructor on the internet.
This is exactly the kind of continuous and focused practice that makes good pilots great. Well instructed, thanks!
Mark From Florida Here,. Absolutely teaching skills. Super Vid Brother

Learned a lot from that one Kyle. Running without leaning back drove my head into a Florida red ant nest one day. Got gas poured down my neck for desert.
This is a great vid Kyle. Everything makes sense and the visual is the key to understanding. Nice dude.
Thank you Kyle. Weather has been ugly and my fields are still to soggy to use. But I can get out in the yard and try this for sure. Been trying to run and add power as I go but my back yard is a bit small and I kept running out of room to run.
Kyle, Love your videos. I'm new to the sport and love your videos.

This is the hardest part for me. Thank you I will practice this
This was the tip and exercise that got me into the air. Thanks 🪂👍🪂

Very very useful ☺️👍 information
Top Paramotoring tip I have come across ..... Dead on !

Excellent instructions 👌
Great instructional, although I got a bit nervous at 2:37 with your heal getting close to the prop area.

Great video Kyle, not many have actually showed this technique well and talked much on it, you always have great instruction. Good stuff.
Awesome stuff Kyle! You've got some some serious throttle control skill!
I need to work on this for sure. 🤙
great video, I always learn things when I watch your videos.

SUPER useful Kyle. I will put some put these techniques into use this spring.
Thanks Kyle! I've been PG since October and in a couple months i'll start PPG, Thanks for all your info!!
Thanks! Im so glad you shared on that. It's the experience we newbie's need.
This is the stuff that helps me lock this down that much faster. Thanks for sharing these “pro tips”! 👍🤘keep up the good work buddy!!...
Nice vid as usual Kyle...please keep them coming ! 🤟
Great vid mate, needed this :)
Yeah!!! I was doing the lean back thrust test today with my new glidersports prop. Fun stuff. Good video
Pro tip, thank you for sharing ❤ could you please create one for good landing.
Thank you for sharing thank you for your passion and work
Great Video, as a total beginner still, that is an awesome technique to work on throttle control and positioning. Love all the great content !
Great DEMO! Always something to learn, keep up the good work.
Great video Kyle !!!
Great top tip Cheers Kyle O
Very well presented Kyle! Love your stuff. Thank you for sharing!!!
The Kyle O school of balance. Leaf blower optional!!
Nice video! I appreciate it and learned something and I have about 90 flights
I needed this! thanks
Another good one Kyle O !
I have been away for a bit and need to catch up .
Thank you
This helped me sooooo much
I like ur video it was good and simple
Hi Kyle, great vid! I tried it this afternoon and think it's well worth more practice so it becomes automatic!
Good video as always Kyle O

2:30+ shows your foot behind the prop cage. No mistakes at that point or maybe injury.
Great way to blow the leaves out of your yard also! If you’re not blowing the leaves, your posture is wrong, or needs some work...
Dude, learn how a chin strap works! 😂🤣😂 Only joking. We’re way better pilots because of your videos Kyle. You’re on your to becoming a PPG instructor god. Keep it up!

Good One Kyle!!! Cathy & I will be doing this ,0) & Yes - You should go to the mountains every chance ya get ,0)
Awesome video Kyle 👍👍👍
Trust the thrust
This actually looks like fun haha
Cynthia and I really appreciate this info! Will try this on skis 😜
Great video!! Is an Macfly PPG ?
LMAO thumbs down if you ware your paraglider through your entire garage sale omg . Thumbs up from this guy 👍👍✌️
Hey Kyle I've been asking Dave at paramotor crazy and trike flyer to do a foot dragging contest for us paramotor guys on the interweb. I think you should join in on the fun👍
Yeah, I'll practice that when I get " my motor" not on your school equipment,
Both of your audio sources are lovely and crisp! Helmet is showing huge potential! Did you use the Sena mic again for this one?
I'm guilt of that forward run, head down launch style. Its a paragliding habit! I'll run through this practice drill!

Thanks bro
This one was good...
Good way to break your prop !
Only if you're doing it wrong!
Learnd a lot from this awesome ! I guess lean back will be not so easy ? Maybe you end up like " Land mower " - lol
Good information i am just now locking in this technique. Just curious what gloves are those?
All makes good sense to me:)
Hey brother can you share small video whit the conection you set up .to record you voice so clear on this video I will like to do something like that. Thanks brother
Oh man! That’s how that’s done?!?!? But I like thrusting myself down hills in takeoff!! Lol :)
love dis sh*t!
What are those gloves? I need some super-thin leather gloves where I don't lose a lot of dexterity and feel sensation. Thanks.
Thin leather tactical gloves of some sort.
This is one thing that was not taught to me when I was trained.
Awesome
The whole time i was listening i was thinking thats the best sound quality from you yet while talking over a motor. Its not a dead cat so I wonder how it will perform in heavy wind.
Wow 6 people all having garage sales wearing their paramotor. Weird. Lol great advise I need to lean back more too
So iv ordered everything I needed to get started. Already have the wing. Picking up new paramotor next week . Iv tried to learn everything I can from RUclips. I can drive every other vehicle pretty well from dirtbikes to track hoes. What are my odds of nailing it? Lol should I get an emergency chute?
Spend a lot of hours with the wing AND harness before even touching the motor.
What happens if your motor stalls stops or sputters while your leaning back. how can I catch myself if something goes wrong? Would that be bad?
If the motor stalls, you will fall back, shouldn't break the prop as it wouldn't spin with no motor input
Hmm, Maverick or Macfly...what to buy?
Macfly is the best value.
@@kyleoglee thank you!
HI Kyle... LOVE your videos and would like to embed some of them on our paramotor club website. Is that ok with you? No problem if not but they really are helpful for pilots, especially us newbies.

Sure, have at it!
Show!
Kyle, what oil and what ratio you run in moster 185? (Other then Motul)
Amsoil Saber 65:1
Mark From Florida Here,. Rock on brother God is Great.

James Miller
@@kyleoglee Thanks.....Is he still in jail? Or the hospital? :)
His story ended with sad tragedy.
@@kyleoglee Tell us about it Kyle. I knew about his incident but not the aftermath. Thanks.
Lets see you do some launches.
I feel ripped off.
3:07 MICHAEL JACKSON.... HE HE
were u located Kyle? New to this still do u train?
Yes, NW Louisiana is home base. Check out video description for details and contact info.
What if it lifts u off ur feet when leaning back lol
I see why you cut the mullet now...prop strike ;)
Do that while running. I don’t think you can. Not that far back anyway.
(I am just an ordinary pilot with 20+ years of recreational flying, about 50 flight hours a year)
