    Currently saving up money to buy one that is on sale for 4.5K Euros. The guy is giving me till June to find the money so I've been selling as much of my things as I can because I absolutely fell in love with this car as a kid. Here's to hoping I make enough money to buy the car before hand! I will cry if I don't.

    Recently bought my second one, a phase 2 twinny in Zoe yellow. Utterly fabulous little cars that feel delightfully analogue. These are definitely starting to increase in value as numbers reduce and appreciation of a very fine car increases.

    Excellent review of what is very much a rare sight these days. I also have a Phase1 TwinSpark Spider which is a 98 car and while I have hardly driven it for several years now, on the very occasional drive I get in it, I still get the same thrill and wonderful driving experience as when I bought it back in 2002. It may not be as powerful and iconic as some of my cars, it still gives so much pleasure behind the wheel, and has the right amount of power for the chassis. And the TwinSpark and exhaust sound great too. It's pretty much perfect!! Unless one has driven a Spider, one will never know just what a great drive it is. Thank you for posting 😀👍

    This review is really good. I invested in a 2k example from 1997 with 148k miles on the clock about 3 months before this review came out. I love it! Absolutely love it! What I would say is maintenance is quite expensive and now mine is 25 years old parts are getting quite hard to find. For instance I have a very very small coolant leak but it's from a hose that nobody seems to recognise so really struggling to nail that down. Watched this because I've just spent the last 2 days with the roof down and now sad it's night time and I can't go out again 😞

      Well, my Alfa passion got renewed about a year ago after watching an episode of wheeler dealers. I had these in the late 90s and I’d forgotten how great they are. Not the faster at, not the maddest or the best handling. But there’s magic there you can connect to. I’m about to pull the trigger on a 3.0 V6 as well, just as soon as I find one. A bit mad to have 2 …. but who cares?

    • @WeBlogAnyCar
      @WeBlogAnyCar  9 месяцев назад

      @NightfallBlue fairplay to you. I don’t think you can never have too many Alfas (especially if one is a V6) 😃.

    Bought a GTV lusso new in 1998, loved it but then family came a long..... just bought a 1998 Phase 1, back in love with the GTV. I have owned 156, 159 and 147 but I do have a soft spot for the GTV. You have to look after Alfas and keep them supplied with the finest fluids money can buy, got the experience now to do pretty much anything on the car... never got my hands dirty with my first GTV, had money back then!

    Great car and review. I particularly like the seats in the phase one. Hats off to you for keeping it as original, or true-to-original, as possible. I cringe at the sight of some mods and 'upgrades' which can spoil a car that was already great. Love those wheels as well. The fact you've kept this so long says it all! I think the 916 looks better now than it did when new and an extremely rare sight on the roads so perhaps even more special. I just noticed you've done a review on the 159 so I'll go and check it out. I currently drive a 2014 Giulietta Sportiva (1.4 turbo petrol) and previously owned a 159 TI with the 1750TBI engine - sadly written off by another driver hitting me side-on about 5 years ago. Both great modern Alfas and the Giulietta has so far been bulletproof on reliability. As for the 159 it was so solid I drove it home after the crash without issue other than a broken heart! Cheers

      Thank you for this. I enjoyed reading your comments. Alfa’s are definitely a hard car to give up on. Sad to hear what happened to your 159 but great to read that your Giulietta has been bulletproof 👍🏾.
