  • Since the 1950s, the School of Visual Arts has commissioned some of the greatest graphic designers and artists-all faculty members of the College-to create posters for New York City subway platforms.
In this video series SVA has asked some of its most revered designers to reflect on the posters they have created and give some insight into their practice. Here, Milton Glaser, who holds the distinction of creating the most posters-24, speaks about his works.
Glaser, a long-serving faculty member of the College, is also acting chairman of the Board. His prolific career includes designing the I (heart) NY and Brooklyn Brewery logos, as well as co-founding New York magazine. In 2009, he received the National Medal of the Arts, the first graphic designer to receive this award.
Directed and edited by Nicolas Heller
