Hi, just wanted to ask if a course like this is necessary to become an accredited representative, or is it possible to do through on the job training? I have a law degree from overseas, significant work experience in refugee law, and am also almost finished my PhD in this area. This is something I am really interested in, but just cannot justify the cost on top of an already huge student loan.
@eljj7968 Yes, look for an accredited organization in your area, especially CLINIC affiliates, they usually have discount codes for the CLINIC COIL program and other online webinars that can get you to the 40 hours you need while also working as a paralegal or accredited rep in training.
