A Doc who wants his patients to get BETTER. So now we are continuing to date, and he's enthusiastic about Carnivore. Thanks Dr. Shawn, appreciate you SO MUCH.

But as soon as i started the carnivore way of life everyone has become health experts telling me to get off this diet that it’s going to kill me.

I am 66 and really had no need to be the one on the bench during each of our five l 15 minutes games. There were six teams and we played every 3rd game. I listened to younger people hurting looking for drugs, being tired, and just not knowing how they were going to finish the day. All the time munching on power/e Gerry bars drinking sports drinks, and beer. After I got home I wrapped birthday presents for my grandson, folded laundry, measured a driveway for dirt work, and a few other chores. Then went over to the birthday party where I assembled the trike, and had dinner doing all the birthday things. When I got home my three border collies were waiting for their fun time and me.

Every two weeks he had a down time from Friday evening to Sunday lunch. Friday evening with the boys (often a few drinks and an Indian meal) and Saturday night dinner out with me ..... Sunday lunch was traditional roast meat with roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, stuffing. By Sunday night he would be on two fried eggs. His biggest problem was keeping weight on! However, he always had excellent readings at his medical check ups.

I basically resigned myself that I was gonna die a fat, unhappy miserable man, who was living an unbearable, uncomfortable existence a mere 4 months ago.
My weight had ballooned up 306 lbs and at 6' tall, my 44-inch waist was indicating some serious visceral adiposity. I would joke with my kids that I was the US version of Yasin Sengus, if any of you watch TikTok you know who that is.
I had no energy, my legs were stiff and sore all of the time. Getting up from the couch was a challenge. Just raising my leg high enough to get out of my car was becoming excruciatingly difficult. Walking from the parking lot to the store was just plain awful, it took a couple minutes of moving for my joints to warm up just to walk that far. I had severe sleep apnea and even with the BiPAP I was always exhausted in the morning. Dark circles under my eyes. My sex life was just awful. I couldn't even get it up with 100 mgs of Sildenafil. You can imagine the wife was none too pleased about this one.
There were a few times when the wood boiler would go out last winter because I just did not have the energy to get off the couch to go outside to stoke the fire to keep it going, which was not good when it was -15 degrees.
I had this intermittent but extremely sharp inflammation pain in my left foot that felt like a knife stabbing me and twisting when I would put my weight on it. Whenever this pain happened my ankle and foot would be stiff and painful for two days after and I would limp constantly because of it. I also had this body fungus on my belly and chest for years.
On May 5th of this year, I decided that it was take the chance and try carnivore for 30 days or slowly degrade and die before I turn sixty in the next 10 years. So, I went carnivore cold turkey that morning and have never looked back.
As of today, all of the complaints I mentioned above are either completely gone or barely noticeable anymore. My weight went from 306 to currently under 240. I'm not sure what my weight is at the moment, I don't have a scale, but a week and 1/2 ago it was 240. My waist went from 44 to 36.
My leg inflammation is completely gone now. No more apnea. My wife is smiling again. If it hadn't of been for you Doc, I would be waiting to die still. I make it my personal mission to tell everyone what my "Big" secret is.
If I meet an obese person ,I tell them that they don't have to live like this...

My elbows, knees, feet and gums. after less than 2 weeks on the carnivore diet ALL my inflammation was gone!! It's that SIMPLE and that QUICK!!!! Each time I told a doctor, or a friend/doctor about the pain I'm having, they'd recommend steroid injections. That's it!!! I never took an injection because they told me that I'd be more susceptible to injury and that I'd need another one in a few months!!! Not a single one of them asked me about my diet!!! I had cut out alcohol & was working out almost everyday or playing some form of basketball, always in a fasted state. I know the activity level helped make it happen, now I'm trying out carnivore & unfortunately I can't workout like I did 5 yeras ago because of a knee injuty (& no access to a basktball court either), I peaked at just short of 270 & i'm slowly getting down into the 250's. Carnivore is tough when traveling, but it needs to be a lifestyle choice, not a fad diet that you just do here & there. I'm looking forward to getting back down to the low 200's again.

I’d work on getting rid of the Glyburide first, due to the side effects.
When on insulin only, you can gradually lower the dose yourself.
Anyone on insulin should know how to adjust their dosages.
If you have a cgm that is useful.
If not, checking blood sugar with lancet and metre enough is important.

It's so weird because my stomach use to get bloated and feel like a rock and stuck out and just after a month of eating the exact same thing my stomach is flat and feels empty even when I'm full It's hard to explain the feeling but it feels like I don't even have anything in my stomach and I can run like a hundred yards and not even breath hard where before I was getting winded just walking to my truck from the front door. I use to get major headaches every single day and eat aleve like candy just to calm it down. I'm hoping that will be my story. I've been doing this since Jan. 1, 2024. I'm still suffering, daily GI issues, which I never had before on any other diet, but I am hopeful & pushing through it. I get really bad acid reflux, burping up sour, acidic taste., which is awful. I have never had that before either. Weight is NOT falling off. I'm hopeful it will, because my BMI is terrible, I just want people to know that for some of us, for what ever reason, this is NO piece of cake, & not to expect a quick fix of everything at once. I think that for some of us, it will take more time. I am 70 & if it wasn't for some improvements I've noticed, I wouldn't have continued. The IMPROVEMENTS are: I have noticed brain fog lift & mental clarity improve. My mood is better. I'm beginning to sleep longer stretches at a time & not waking up every couple of hours. My blood pressure has dropped to the Perfect range & I'm not exercising, yet. I am not being woken up at night anymore, in tears, from my pins & needles, falling asleep, throbbing, painful hands. My left has healed the most. My right hand is improving greatly. I can type this without stopping every couple of seconds to shake my numb hands out. I can sleep on my right side longer, before my hand falls asleep. These improvements help me push through the GERD & bathroom issues like burning butt. This way of eating does have some obstacles, but I intend to keep pushing through & pray these side affects eventually subside. The carnivore diet is very simple to implement, & satisfying. I like the simplicity. I admit I have had a couple of cheats, only to find out that I don't want or even like what I had anymore, like the rolls at the Texas Road House. They tasted awful to me & I used to like them more than the steak. No more, ha ha! I'm trying to get my husband on carnivore as well. So far he is not interested in giving up all his junk food. I hope to be an inspiration to him. Good luck everyone. Be Persistent & Consistent. That's my motto to keep me going.

I’ve been on carnivore for just over a week now, loving it, never hungry, weight loss is steady. Hoping to see improvement in inflammation. I do have an incurable brain tumour but I’m feeling really energised, my gym sessions are improving daily, lifting heavier. Who knew this would happen 😂 onwards & upwards

I messed my back up in Afghanistan ended up needing a lumbar fusion. Still had chronic pain and they recommended more surgery. I find that my pain is much more manageable on a carnivore diet. Losing 30 lbs certainly helps.

That’s awesome he’s feeling so well! That’s amazing, and this is more evidence that carnivore diet heals and returns humans back to their natural state of optimal health!
I love dogs- definitely a dog person, and I have mine going carnivore! They love ground beef the most!
Wonderful he is one of your coaches! I am interested in joining your team! Not sure if you are taking in more people for that.
Have a great day Dr. Baker! ☺️🌴

I have been off and on keto for about 5 or 6 years now. When I first started keto It was really boring for me to do because I was always on the go with my job and so little things were keto friendly and I got bored of the same simple prep meals I would make for the day and dinner. I did lose a lot of weight. I was 285lbs at 5'11 with a 42 inch waist. I have always had pretty dense muscle and bone structure so I was always heavier than I looked. Even my navy Recruiter said I would need to get a waiver when I was in college because of my weight being so much more than what they deemed "normal" for my height. Anyway Fast forward about 25+ years later and the last 15 year I have been fluctuating between 275 and 290. Before I started this careery path I am now which I started about 15 years ago I had always been a gym rat, loved lifting weights. But with this Career path I am on it really made working out on a regular basis hard for me and for a while I was making it work but then I slowly got out of habit and lost my motivation to lift. Even today I find it very hard to get the motivation to lift and I even have a decent home set up. But I started Keto about 6 or so years ago and when ever I get religiously on it I feel so much better. Back and neck do not ache as much ( from high school football and Rowing team) I also just do not feel as inflamed as much and I sleep so much better. I dropped about 35 lbs when I first got on to keto and when ever I stop it slowly comes back. However I have been having a hard time replicating my first results. I am back on Keto when I tipped the scales at 293 and I am down to about 275-277ish. However I am having a hard time getting past that now.
I want to go to a strict carnivore diet however I take care of my elderly mother ( onset minor dementia at 89 and I also take care of my Brother with Down Syndrome. So I have to also cook for them and it I can do keto for all of us for the most part, but I am not sure how well going carnivore would do in regards to making dinners for all of us that are carnivore friendly because Both of them have issues chewing certain foods that might require a bit more chewing. Fish and tender chicken breasts cooked right are ok, but Pork chops, and steak I am just not sure how that would go. Anyway I really want to get at the very minimum on a more strict keto diet if not lean in more to Carnivore. I think Brain health it might do both me and my mother better. Plus I need to get back to lifting again. I always felt the best when I was lifting but the motivation is just not there and I am not sure if it because of a lack of testosterone because I am not 49 or what.
Anyway Thanks for all you do!

I cook most of my steaks and chops in a slow cooker for around 6 hours, they melt in your mouth.

@@deskjockie4948 Never thought about steak in a slow cooker!
I've been getting chuck eye steaks and they are ok....lots cheaper than rib eyes but def not as good and some have been a bit too tough. I'll try the slow cooker.

Hey Dr. Baker, I appreciate all you do to help people learn how to become healthy through changing their eating habits. I don't really call carnivore a diet, but I refer to it as my lifestyle or way of eating, and I explain to people what it has done for my health. I was on blood pressure medicine, 37 pounds heavier, had erectile dysfunction, was severely depressed, to the point that I was ready for my life to end. Had bad anxiety, on Prozac, and had gout problems, along with other issues. I went keto for 6 months, and found you, Dr. Chaffee, Dr. Berry and a few others that led me on my way to carivore. I no longer take anything for anxiety or depression, don't need blood pressure meds, and I have much less joint pain. I'm a male, 54 years old, 5'9" tall, waist is now 32", and my weight is now 156 lbs. I would be honored to join your coaching team if you are looking for other coaches. If so, how would I get in contact with you or your team?

Hey Dr. Baker I have been listening to you videos and will try this. I’m 50 years old 6’-2” male was very active up till 35 (a household mover) and went into an office setting when at my heaviest I reached 480 lbs. I have struggled for years to get weight off and keep it off. I’m currently at 440 lbs. and I was diagnosed with fatty liver, and sleep apnea, years back but most recently with type 2 diabetes, not to mention the chronic pain and depression. Thanks and I’ll keep you posted.

Cruising 280-285lbs for years, at 55 I got down to 250lbs +/- by counting calories/exercise (but still drinking beer) FF 2017, I dropped 35lbs in just a few months. Back-to-back my wife dies, hurricane Ida takes our home. Got a new place 2/01/22 at 275lbs. May `23 fasting M-W-F, mid July-mid Aug fast 3 days, eat carnivore/keto 3 days (1 month) 3rd week September I`m doing 3-3 again. Down to 242lbs, psoriasis and angioedema both almost gone.

I like that the financial aspect is discussed, along with the health benefits.
Alot of people I speak to have the idea that carnivore is expensive, bit I have noticed, personally, that I'm spending less overall, and I eat some thick fatty ribeye almost every day.
It could be even cheaper if I ate more ground beef, eggs etc.
