Finished it all yesterday with a very good friend by my side, this game became very important to me, countless hours, laughs, people coming together, new and old friends, people I brought in just because I couldn't stop myself from infodumping the lore whenever they asked... Hell, there was a time when I was up late grinding nightfalls for some weapon I no longer use and a friend called to see if I was up 'cause she needed someone to talk too, so she came by, the orbit screen playing deepstone lullaby and we cried our hearts out to some irl stuff and then just listened to the music. In Stronger, Together you can hear a heroic sounding Savathun theme. Oh buddy I hope we will be fighting along side her even if she isn't a permanent ally
I hope she and her light/lucent brood become allied after a while. If we found common ground with the Fallen and the Cabal, then we can do the same with the Hive.
I’d be willing to bet a lot of money that they do become a temporary ally. The Witness wants to end all things, to stop time itself and end existence. Savathûn may be treacherous and crave power, but if the Witness wins, there is no life for her and her brood - she has no choice, she must align with those who are fighting for life and existence itself.
It's hard to say. I watched Datto and Skillup's preview videos and they did a good job of censoring it, but IGN's review showed them fighting a follower of Savathun inside the Pale Heart as one of the patrol activity bosses. I guess we should remember whilst we share a common foe with Savathun, she is not our ally or friend.
We awoke in a pile of rusted cars and rubble in Old Russia, raised by an enigmatic being who deemed us worthy. Now we defend its very heart as the fate of the universe itself hangs in the balance. It’s been one hell of a ride my friends, so let’s finish this fight.

Through the highest highs of my life, through the darkest depths of depression and loneliness, this game and its community have been there. 10 years of life, love, loss... and this game being the thing to unwind with through the days. Thank you Bungie for bringing us this far, and I (and many of us) hope you still have stories to tell about this universe
I grew up playing the first Destiny game with my dad. I was around 11 or 12 at the time. He used to burn CD’s with soundtracks from video games and movies, and he had the soundtrack from the first game on it. We would always listen to it in his car whenever we drove somewhere. Now that The Final Shape has arrived, it makes me a bit sad knowing this is the last major release for Destiny. But I’ll always have those memories to hold on to. Thank you Bungie for letting us be able to make all those memories for the last 10 years!
More memories are sure to come, Guardian. Bungie said they'll keep working on this game in the future, this is merely the end of one story. Maybe our fate will begin another?

This is going to sound lame and cheesy, but Destiny has fundamentally shaped who I am as a person. I started playing when I was 14 right after Dark Below dropped. This game drew me in like nothing ever has before, the story, the tone, the setting, I loved it all. As I got older and began to deal with increasingly worse mental health issues, I found solace in its world, but most importantly, in the philosophical ideas it proposed. It helped me reshape my line of thinking into something more holistic and quite frankly healthy. I would not be the person I am today if it weren't for this game and the writers and developers who crafted such an incredible world. It's been a wonderful past 10 years with you all. I'll see you all starside.
A LOT of throwbacks to the vanilla D2 OST. Loving it so far. Also whoever's been putting the Beyond Light leitmotif hidden somewhere in the OST for the las 3 years: WE GET IT, you like it 😂😂. Edit: Enthropy was a mismatch of different races' theme (I heard cabal and also ahamkara at the end??) Prince of devotion also seems to have a ton of Forsaken stuff. It's either something Mara related or Ahamkara related (maybe the strike, for what we saw in one of bungo's vidoc) A knife in the garden was freaking amazing, probably my favorite so far. I'm guessing it's going to be a sad Zavala flashback before he gets tempted by the Witness idk Scientific obstinance is literally just the Forsken OST on crack (love it 😂) I was already loving A Gentle Kingdom and then it hit me with a mini-trowback to Journey. C'mon Bungie you're just teasing at this point. Stronger, Together almost made me tear up. So freaking epic. Final edit: lot's of throwbacks to all of D2, not as many to D1 as I thought there would be. Great stuff overall. Thanks to Michael Salvatori for 10 years of such an amazing and underappreciated soundtrack and best of wishes on his future projects. Se y'all tomorrow for the conclusion of this saga :')
@@Vid30g4m3r the OG motif literally appeared in the first track of the BL OST named "Beyond Light" and was brand new up to that point (except the pyramid stuff added in the theme). It was also heavily used in multiple songs of the DLC. I don't think it would've been incorrect to call it Beyond Light's leitmotif back when it came out but it is also obviously true that it has been completely repurposed. As a musician I just find it curious that it was specifically that motiff that got reused for future releases when it was clearly such a big part of BL. Since then I've noticed it has been used for Zavala speeches and Vanguard stuff so I guess it could be considered a Vanguard leitmotif (?) Anyway, I still think someone at Bungue just liked it a lot (probably Salvatori) and wanted to use it for more stuff 😂
@@jorgecabral4591idk how to break it to you but the first time we heard the “beyond light” motif was in 2017 a whole 3 years before beyond light came out LOL the second time it was used wasnt even BL it was shadowkeep and the only reason it was such a big part of beyond light is because the darkness was a huge part of it
@@ByaKyuren I'm not talking about the pyramid stuff. The one that played at the post credit scene of D2 vanilla. If you listen to the Beyond Light track (like the actual track) I'm referring to the theme that plays from second 40 onwards. That theme was unique to BL and very present through the entire DLC. Again, I'm not referring to the pyramid stuff which, yes, it has been used since 2017 and it returned since Shadowkeep for anything Darkness/Pyramid/Witness related. Go listen to the track and you'll know what theme I'm referring to.
“Make your own fate” is my FAVORITE song I’ve ever heard from Destiny. It pumps me up and makes me feel powerful and invincible every time I hear it. Absolutely the BEST song ever made for Destiny!!! And “After all this time” is my second favorite because of how it makes me remember all of those good times I’ve had in Destiny and how much this game as changed my life for the better!
I might have joined this community back in rise of iron which was a little late but I have been here ever since. Going from the red war to forsaken to shadow keep which felt a little weird but from then on it looked like the story was actually going somewhere and I can’t wait to see the conclusion of said story when I face the witness tomorrow along side the two of my best friends that I met playing this game and the one before it. although we aren’t the best of players out there that’s for sure we still work well together and they are defiantly some of the best friends I could have ever asked for and I would never change that. While all is said and done I want to thank you Bungie with all my heart for bringing this game into the world and allowing me to make friendships like no other so Thank you. Also I want to thank the community for helping me over the years with any raids , dungeons , GMs you name it Im also looking forward to more runs down the road so see you out there little lights from yours truly CobraxxYT.
Not always about the skills mate, it’s more important you enjoy and bond with your friends over it. I’ve been playing with my friends since beta D1 and we’re finishing the fight together, that’s what counts
It was an epic and awesome journey, although it had it's many ups and downs one thing kept me playing, the friends made, the story, and yes, the loot, everything was amazing!! I hope you get to enjoy and love Destiny 3 and experience new horizons, eyes up Guardian!!
This game is the glue that has held my friend group together for nearly a decade now. Despite all of us moving away from each other many years ago, we still have maintained a strong bond thanks to having one thing we can all share in common. That thing being Destiny. It’s not the perfect game, but it’s the one where I can hang out with my best friends, my brothers, and achieve things that most people cannot. Without this game, I doubt my friend group would have been able to last after being physically separated. Instead, we’ve become inseparable. No beef, no drama, nothing. Only brotherhood from the times we were 11/12 years old to 20/21 years old. And after waiting for Day 2 of the Final Shape (so we don’t have to deal with overloaded servers tomorrow) we will show the Witness what Guardians are truly capable of.
I was about ten or so when i picked the game up, and I have never put it down since. I truly love this game, through its highs and lows, Taken King's to Shadowkeep's, if you will... Thank you Bungie, for making this amazing game, experience, and journey for myself and countless others to enjoy. See you all tomorrow afternoon!
My god, this is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever experienced. Thank you to everyone who worked on the ost for final shape and bungie as a whole. Fan service in audio form, Simply a masterpiece.

The last chord…. I was at work and I didn’t realize it but I stopped everything I was doing and just hung in that chord. Wonderful job on this score. Words do not express the thanks we have for this team and the amazing abilities all of the people involved with the creation of this score. Absolute perfection… thank you deeply.
It's a close race between that and Coruscate for me. Both build throughout and constantly shift themes; truly some of the best songs I've heard from Destiny, and that's saying something.
We have come a long way from shooting into a cave for hours and fighting an immortal Hive Knight in the Cosmodrone. Can’t believe it’s been a decade already. Hopefully we get another 10 years from this great world Bungie has created. I’ll pour one out for the fellow guardians that couldn’t make it ❤️

That final track with the melody we heard all the way back during that 2013 GDC talk with Chris Barret and Joe Staten. Man. I wish I woulda waited to hear that in game.
Precipice, I speculate but we won't know until the raid, might be the raid final encounter. It carries the dark and erratic energy of the Witness, utilizing the same motifs from Witch Queen and Lightfall. And it sounds so freaking cool! GGs to the music team for this awesome finale of an OST ❤

It makes me sad this potentially might be the last ost to have the Witness & Traveler motfs 33:53 This must be for the Witness's race, love how beautiful it is, almost heavenly - to then turn into a hellish motif of the Witness at the end. 1:23:52 Funny that the Witness's whispers ended up getting a theme. I think this is for the Veiled/cloaked figures we've seen, i believe they represent the Penitent of the Witness's race, since we see one of them holding what appears to be a glass shard at Zavala (the Witness has a theme of breaking glass) aswell as the Witness using one of the many figures around Zavala as a mouthpiece to speak to him. 1:25:13Assuming this is the Witness, this references what was talked about in Unveiling & Inspiral, how the Gardener & Winnower "discover" The First Knife. "In absence of a hand, either the flowers themselves must rise up to wield the knife, or the garden will resolve to meaningless wilderness." This calls back to what Ahsa said, the Witness's race craved a Winnower, so they "merged themselves into the salvation they craved". They became a Winnower since the Veil wasnt doing its role as the Winnower
This has been such an emotional and awesome journey!!! I can’t wait to dive in the last chapter of the light and darkness saga!! 10 years! I’m 37 now, and it just feels amazing to be alive to finish an amazing game like this! Eyes up GAURDIANS!!!

I joined pretty late into Destiny compared to others (Season of Arrivals, right before Beyond Light), but I've never come across anything quite like this game. I don't know what it is, but there is something special here, and I'm really glad I arrived at the time I did.
I was 9 when I started in taken king Im now 19 Doing it for my friends who don't play anymore, the 4 who still do 2 of who are on my fireteam, and for Lance.
Ten years ago, my older brother got a copy of Destiny for his birthday. I wasn't even allowed to play it then, only to watch, for whatever reason. Even so, I was captivated. I watched my brothers play Destiny for years, until I was finally able to play it myself if 2017, just in time for Destiny 2's release. Since then, I've played every mission, seen every story play out, and read as many lore tabs as I could. This game means so much to me. It's crazy that it's come this far.
boy, i sure wish the genius who led the composition of this masterpiece of a soundtrack still worked at the company that he helped build with his bare hands and that he wasn’t, you know, callously laid off out of the blue.
I find it so crazy to me that Bungie gave me two of my biggest gaming experiences, that both hold such a huge place in my heart. So many friend made and lost, so many people that have come and gone through our fireteams. Some of the longest nights spent up with loved people on a game that all let us feel at home. Through all the highs and lows we’ve all experienced as a community and as individual players, in the end we’ll remember times like this in years ahead and speak fondly of times we’ll never get to relive. Remember the friends we’ve made, remember the night/weeks spent up late grinding for a raid you knew you’d never win the race in but it was all in good fun with a team who’d have a hard time trying to tie their shoelaces, and remember that this time wasn’t wasted. It was spent with those who sometimes knew us best. Whatever happens with destiny and every guardian as a whole from here, it’s been a great time with this game and community, we’ll all remember this
10 years... From starting in the beta for Destiny 1 all the way up until The Final Shape. What a story this has been and I have absolutely loved it. This story so far has been a decade of my life and I'm so ready to see what other stories are left to be told within this incredible universe that Bungie has created...
I remember when i watched the stream before beyond lights release when they announced Witch Queen and Lightfall. I said to myself: “Wow i cant wait to find out what happens at the end”. We are now here. Here at the end of our journey, at the end of an era and i cant believe its only been a couple years since that day i saw my ghost find me for the first time. Its been an honor fighting along side every single one of you. Lets hope for a better future. Not just for destiny, but for our lives outside of the game. I cant tell you how excited i am to see whats in store.
Started playing Destiny at 15 years old. Learning how to drive. Learning how to be successful in high school still. Focused on going home to play with my buddies on my new ps4. Now I'm 25, married with a very pregnant wife, a homeowner, and listening to this OST as I near the end of my engineering degree on my gaming PC. Yet, after all these years, Bungie kept bringing me in. Here we all are about to experience a epic conclusion that I know many of us have followed for a good portion of our lives. Cheers to the ups and down and everything in between. I hope Bungie can truly make the Final Shape worthwhile and whatever happens, it's been a hell of a ride guardians.

In Stronger, Together you can hear a heroic sounding Savathun theme. Oh buddy I hope we will be fighting along side her even if she isn't a permanent ally
Wait your right, gods i cannot wait
Lucent Brood things? They live in our universe, too... would be a shame to see it disappear.
Filled with motifs of expansions and seasons we have been through. The ultimate soundtrack of our past conquests. See yall in the Pale Heart 🫡
10 years... wow. The first time i played Destiny was in 2014. I was just 14 years old... This franchise carryied me for all my adolescence. I meet my best friends in this game in a time that all was difficult to me. Now, 10 years later, we are just at the beginning of the end.
Eyes up, guardians! Let's fight for one more time together!
I agree guardian I was five when it came out and I played all the way back then now at 15 I am ready to move into the next chapter of my life as destiny does the same. Keep your head and eyes up guardians we fight together one last time for the last city!

10 years.. It's been an honor my fellow guardians. Let's do this thing.
Getting hearted by bungie is actually an awesome achievement
Michael Salvatori and the music team never disappointed, I'm so glad they at least got to play their part in year 10 of the franchise. Eyes up guardians!
This is most definitely not the last large major release, bungie have been very clear about that.
More memories are sure to come, Guardian. Bungie said they'll keep working on this game in the future, this is merely the end of one story. Maybe our fate will begin another?
00:33:53 After 10 years of playing this game this might be my favorite Orbit music. It feels like a huge weight is lifted off our shoulders every time i hear it.

19:40 that little bit of Beyond Light
Best beyond light motif
1:09:46 and now i hear avengers music
almost certain this leitmotif is older than beyond light
@@retronax4346 the dark leitmotif is as old as D2 but this is Beyond Light's "theme"
there is taniks leaks tbf this may be it
This is going to sound lame and cheesy, but Destiny has fundamentally shaped who I am as a person.
Edit: Enthropy was a mismatch of different races' theme (I heard cabal and also ahamkara at the end??)
Prince of devotion also seems to have a ton of Forsaken stuff. It's either something Mara related or Ahamkara related (maybe the strike, for what we saw in one of bungo's vidoc)
A knife in the garden was freaking amazing, probably my favorite so far. I'm guessing it's going to be a sad Zavala flashback before he gets tempted by the Witness idk
Scientific obstinance is literally just the Forsken OST on crack (love it 😂)
I was already loving A Gentle Kingdom and then it hit me with a mini-trowback to Journey.
I don't think the leitmotif is only beyond light's, i think it belongs to the darkness.
Since then I've noticed it has been used for Zavala speeches and Vanguard stuff so I guess it could be considered a Vanguard leitmotif (?)
Anyway, I still think someone at Bungue just liked it a lot (probably Salvatori) and wanted to use it for more stuff 😂
@@jorgecabral4591idk how to break it to you but the first time we heard the “beyond light” motif was in 2017 a whole 3 years before beyond light came out LOL
the second time it was used wasnt even BL it was shadowkeep and the only reason it was such a big part of beyond light is because the darkness was a huge part of it
I have a feeling Prince of Devotion is Crow's theme, or at least has to do with him. He's literally a prince.
10 years of life just flashed before my eyes
10 years ago I started my journey with my best friend and 10 years later here we are. Finishing the story.
Thank you Bungie.
The last piece of Salvatori/Sechrist for Destiny right here. the GOATS
And Skye Lewin sadly :/
I'm only 17, this game grew up with me.
Almost a decade for me. That's insane to think about
It was an epic and awesome journey, although it had it's many ups and downs one thing kept me playing, the friends made, the story, and yes, the loot, everything was amazing!!

A WHOLE DECADE FOR THIS MOMENT THIS BATTLE !
Wake up GUARDIANS we have a god to slay !
It makes me sad this potentially might be the last ost to have the Witness & Traveler motfs
33:53 This must be for the Witness's race, love how beautiful it is, almost heavenly - to then turn into a hellish motif of the Witness at the end.
