Steven Lav ... The one man wrecking crew ... Very good looking install ... To bad Miss Molly called in a day's vacation ... Good help's hard to find ... Lol ... Have a good weekend ...
Thanks I am going to attempt to install a new boiler in my home I have a very small amount of plumbing under my belt lol but watching you your making it look so easy
Pretty cool. I have to swap my boiler out but I’m gonna replace every valve cause my luck one would break first time I turned it. I liked this video because I have two zones as well and my set up is very similar to this one.
Peerless gas boilers, one of the best. Have a Peerless MC-04 in my house that I installed myself in 1991, only thing failed was the pilot about 10 years ago (no electronic ignition here) and Honeywell aquastat 5 years ago, otherwise running like a champ. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
Never want to run them water heaters on the highest setting, it will kill the life of the tank by half if not more, plus you could seriously burn yourself or especially a child. I always set them at the second from the low setting (not away) that’s plenty hot enough. If you are not getting enough hot water then you need a bigger tank, not turn the thermostat on the highest setting.
Hi Steven - thanks for sharing. I'm having alot trouble finding someone reliable and knowledgeable in the DC area that know Boilers. I was wondering what is the best way to find a good tech? Also how much does getting a new boiler usually cost?
Questions: I did not see where you installed the scoop. Also, the expansion tank was installed on the hot water supply side. I normally see the expansion tank under the scoop attached to the cold water supply line. Can you please explain that. The MI/MIH II installation diagram shows the circulator pump after the scoop and not on the side of the boiler. Although in another home, I have an MI/MIH boiler with the circulator on the return on the side of the boiler which is how you installed it on one.
Looks like a cast iron boiler? I need to replace oil boiler in a rental house and one plumber suggested high efficiency gas boiler. I think I would rather have a cast iron system install? Any feedback? I plan to have this rental house for many years.
@@stevenlavimoniere I agree, I think a basic cast iron boiler would be better. This is a rental house so the tenants pay the utilities. Does your company serve New Jersey?
I have a baseboard boiler system / water heater in my house with a 36 year old Burnham boiler. A new boiler runs $3k or so but in our town they want $15k for the job! Ouch! Looking to do it myself perhaps. How hard can it be :)
Does anyone know how long a weil mcclain gas boiler about 175btu should last. Mines got some corrosion on the gas pipes and salesman said firewall crumbling and 'sludge' and usually replaced every 12 years. But here comments say lasted 30 yrs or more. Whats the truth? I had people take a look bc it would shutoff if it ran too hot. Thanks
I was gonna ask Steve a couple questions but it looks like nobody got answers so why bother. If I was the homeowner I would have asked him to replace every single valve in those water pipes with brand new stuff. I’m probably going to do my own install just to make sure it’s done right.
Such nice simple boilers. Thing of the past, unfortunately. Modern systems and radiant are so much work. And once the parasites (inspectors) get involved things get even more crazy - they want everything to be "made of gold". They don't give a crap how much of your customer's money they spend on unnecessary crap.
In Maryland we have to attach the expansion tank with a bracket to a wall or suitable surface that can withstand the weight when it fails. It wouldn't pass inspection being supported by the piping only. Thank you for the video.
Ray Ray Peerless Boiler. I only saw one main regulator at the meter. Unless you mean the gas valve at the boiler. It has a regulator built in to bring pressure to the boiler to about 3.5 water column.
I did a small plumbing job today replacing shower control valve in wall. Every step I found myself remembering your tech tips. Thanks man.

Nice work Steve. I installed 6 slant fins in a 6 family with 2 plumbers.

Nice install on new boiler, stacks up and running great. Good job, Steven Lav.
Nice Job. Cellar door access even better.
Looking good Steve,

Who makes the best gas 80+ boiler ? Dunkirk , Weil - McLein , ?
Nice work like always Steve, NEXT LEVEL.

Love your vids Steve 💪🏾👍🏾
Great video and good job. 👍
Question? Can you not run the electrical back in on a change out.
The ole stop n waste. You remind me of a guy I used to work with name (BUCKY) he used to solder just like you. The old Alvin Hollis crew.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THE HIGH EFFENCENY BOILERS IF YOU ARE SMART .. THEY WILL COST YOU WAY MORE IN THE LONG RUN . KEEP IT SIMPLY

So where do you get the boilers from Steve???

I need a new boiler and I am not excited about the cost....mine was from the 50s though lol
Nice Install!
Steve, how much should the installation cost roughly with a new expansion tank?
For the young kids out there, at 4:07 Steve is using an ancient writing language from early 1800s and only found used in New England still.
Good job

In the Chimney behind the smoke pipe in your video I saw light from the outside, this a cleanout from the outside or a whole in chimney?
I have the same boiler and looking at that one I can see that mine is seriously wrong assembled that's why it vibrates like an asphalt machine.
Nice Install, do they require city permits and inspections when you do new installs?
GOOD JOB
How do you relight these
whats the purpose of the damper
Why do I think like I know this house? is this in fall river,MA?
I was gonna ask Steve a couple questions but it looks like nobody got answers so why bother.

How much does it cost to replace an old gas boiler? Thanks.
Just got quoted 25k to replace my gas boiler in MA. 😱
How much a job like this usually costs?
Top notch. Mr Steve !!! Like you saud , / want to be a plumber !!!/
What’s good? Can I FaceTime you and you walk me thru replacing my boiler? Haha

Was that a Bradford boiler? Also why the 2 gas regulators, is it that much of a high gas pressure?
Ray Ray Peerless Boiler. I only saw one main regulator at the meter. Unless you mean the gas valve at the boiler. It has a regulator built in to bring pressure to the boiler to about 3.5 water column.
Hi Steve. Is peerless boiler good boiler? I'm doing boiler research to see which is good on the market now...
That time again!
I just got done putting a boiler in mid week.
Hey, does anyone knows what kind of camera Steven uses?
Demitri B. I’ve been trying to figure that out for months.
Its the start of boiler season! Replaced two this week and will be doing another on Monday.
I would of replaced that gate valve with a new ball valve, and was that copper fitting screwed into a black galvanized fitting?
We use the blue tape here now
You sound Italian
No propress?
I believe you know how to change a boiler, but how to handle a camera you have no clue.
that must have been a juicy day huh ? $1200 ?
Pablo that’s how much he charged to install it? good money🤑
Don’t care to see your job. Was looking on how to install. Maybe you should explain what lines go where and there purpose.
take a hike loser
