RuneScape and clues is definitely a part of my life. One Christmas maybe around 2006 my brother and I created a real life Treasure Trail for our dad to go on before getting his gift. We even made him wear ridiculous things and do "emotes" before giving him the next clue.
I've been making videos finishing the easy collection log. There's nothing better than opening a clue and getting multiple fortunates / a dye. It's the dopamine rush. Great video as always.
I've grown to like clue scrolls as a moneymaking method. Its randomization is a bit frustrating at times but I'd rather feel like I'm adventuring than feel like I'm an errand boy with daily runs, a slave to skills or a meat shield constantly dying to bosses lol
You can also get Master clues from doing Archaeology Tetracompasses (50/50 you get one or an Elite from each one you open). That being said, it’s still probably faster to just do other clues (specifically elites or hards) if you want to outright grind Masters.
August 2021, got my first broadcast which was a 2nd age mage bottom @ my 73rd master clue. Cause of that it made me do clues even more and got the dye set all on master by 550 master caskets. unfortunately all i need are these stylish blue glasses for the Master of Clues title. I'm on my 900th. but hey not complaining getting the hard ones first. :)
Guess I'll give it an other shot then. I swear the last time I played (about half a year ago) I did like 6 medium and hard ones I had left in my bank and hardly made any profit. Required me to buy expensive items at the GE that wouldn't sell once I was done with the clue. Any tips for me?
i mostly do hard clues since i hate elites too, i find it more enjoyable to do hard and masters. currently i'm at 27k hards and only missing the barrel to get the golden title :(
I have done 700 masters and have never gotten a drop from them...my elite luck is insane though. Blood dye first casket, biggest drop ever. Not just clues
Congrats! It for sure is a lower barrier to entry than higher level PVM, more of a time commitment than having a lot of skill, although I know theres a whole lot of people that can get insanely fast clue completions.
Its better to stack em up and open em all at once. But you can get lucky opening a few or get unlucky opening hundreds at once its just luck at the end of the day.. I opened 500 hard and elite caskets at once not long time ago and didnt get any broadcast (not even a poop dye) so its just luck you know
Dyes and lower rears are now being used to buy party hats as all but yellow p hats are above max shard stack so you need to get other items to use a cash
Best bet at this point, if you still need this information, is to wait for the GE rework/update where items can be bought and sold well over max cash. (2147m^2 is the new limit when they release the update)
I'm very average at PvM and I can easily say I've made wayyyy more gp with clues. They also saved me from taking another break when I got painfully bored. At a time I was incredibly over killing a boss a million times, I turned to just doing clues. They are so chill to do, listen to music, stack some caskets, get paid :) I actually feel like they reward my time spent unlike PvM most times.
You’d rather do a poor idea of a puzzle than actually do interactive PVM in RS? At that point it’s better just to log off, there’s better things to do IRL
@@BIG2hats Lol I've been playing this game since 2006 I'm allowed to do anything I want that keeps my interest. The pvm in RS is really bad, so yeah, sometimes I don't like it. But I'm also not playing rn cause it's boring.
Long time Pvmer and I recently learned Croesus. As a skilling boss I wasnt interested but man that boss is so chill and easy 15m+ an hour without any drops. Ive been using the bik book there and stacking all my clues. Going to stack 1000 elites and then open em all, clues have always been such a huge part of the game for me, way back when in like 05-06 I would farm medium clues from cockatrices hoping for ranger boots. Such an OP money maker nowadays.
tbh its when i roll the dice from 400qp like 2 months ago and got blood dye xd other than that its when ranger boots got out and got em in clue reward yearssss ago :P
a LOT they are so expensive and a lot of clues have multiples, I don't see why anyone would use them tbh. If they save 30 seconds of time that's still 3m for 30 seconds saved..so like spending 360m for 1 hour of time saved..even if you take a minute to do the puzzle boxes that's 180m spent per hour of time saved. I personally never ever use them, alt 1 is great.
@@NuzzNuzz buuuuut what about us normal humans that can't do a clue in 30 seconds? 🤣 i'm un-officially the world record holder for slowest clue scroll completer, soooo yeah. lol
That's just the puzzle box not the clue xD if you use puzzle skippers on clues even if it takes you 3 or 4 minutes to solve normally (the puzzle box) that's still a lot of GP for only saving a few minutes.
People only use them if there going for clue logs now..unless your rich are and don’t care. Use em but about 95% of your profit is lost due to them being 3m plus now.
I'm excited but at the same time worried it's this easy to become super rich in 2022... Granted, it's still RNG Based and whatnot (as a Pokémon Shiny hunter myself I'm fine with playing the odds), but i hope other items, namely bonds, don't skyrocket as much; i dread the day some of these reach the 80M mark.
I think the definition of rich will rise too. Like if bonds got to 80m each it would be relative to inflation so while bond prices would go up, theoretically it would be because GP/HR from PvM and other means would rise too and sort of even out.
I get what you’re saying here. I know this comment was 9 months ago, but I just came back to RS and have been farming Dazzling Whirligigs and have made around 450m for maybe 8 hours of work max. Also the staff you can make from fighting Glacors used to be super cheap and now it’s like 250m and I’ve made a few of them years ago and had 50 shards left over from when I last played. If I finished that this week and sold it for 250m, I’ll have made 700m in a week which was unthinkable for me! It almost feels like I’m on a private server haha.
I returned to rs recently and got an ice dye one day and a 3a about 4 days later, over 10b in 1 week, obviously drop rates are lower than that from high tier pvm, but you can do clues much quicker and with way less costs which is why I love them, I usually do them pretty chill while watching some series
RS3 bonds at 58mil at the time of this comment. Inflation is getting bad. Luckily after taking a year off and coming back, all the stuff I had is worth much more lol. Nice little influx to get my bond going.
Nah I think PVM is still faster, there's a guy who did like 1,000 clues and got on average like 4B, 5B at best. Considering you can do like 3 clues an hour PVM is still better. You'd have to be able to do like 6-7 clues an hour to come on top of high level PVM. That doesn't account for the time getting those clues either.
No, I made a video about hero items (Hazelmeres ring, Orlando smith hat, Guildmaster tonys mattock) and it had a very similar title "Runescape's Most ELUSIVE Items Could Make You Filthy Rich". This is my first video dedicated to clues, I have only mentioned them briefly in videos but after seeing the 4 months price increase i wanted to make a full one about them. I have shown that meme clip before though. ruclips.net/video/YED0PDVnkNA/видео.html
I dont think thats totally accurate, based on someone who opened 10k hard clues on reddit, they did the math and made around 35M gp/hr and that was when shadow dyes were almost half the price at like 900m each, and those are hard clues, also that took into account gathering and completing. Id say while not as good as the highest tier of PVM clues are for sure great GP/HR if you can commit to them long term. They also gained 80m/hr without gathering included so if you passively get clues with scripture of bik or already have a lot its even more worth it to do them.
As I go to type an argument I realize I shouldn't have picked one. I do higher tier pvm, which is "ok" money per hour, I do flipping which is good, and I do niche skilling that gets me 100-240m an hour, but I can't share because there isn't room in the market for a flood of people.
I mean compared to high tier PVM clues cannot match the highest of tier like HM zuk solos, Kerapac solos etc, but I'd say they are worth doing and very good.

Your reactions for this drops in the beginning were my favorite part. The raw excitement lol
That was the most calm excited voice ever
You forgot to mention the poh aquarium that gives one free elite or master clue per week as nice little bonus clue.
Thank you! I forgot about that.

I should of held onto that third age dye a little longer...
My friend got one at 3b value and hasnt used it on his ironman and its now 10b lol

Clues is better than pvm imo. Got a third age dye from master and now I’m rich and addicted

When u buy the 30 day membership can you keep buying it to add days?
Would you say it is better to save up 10, 50, or even 100 caskets and open all at the same time or open caskets as you get them? Thanks!
Theres no beneficial choice, if u can save em, props to you. Makes it seem like a better payoff I find. Just cause you open em in a single session.
Save up 10000 of each tier
Opening 100 caskets at a time will probably cog up your bank, the items may take a while to sell.

Which clue tier

Only done about 439 and only one barrows dye but for now i just collect the scroll for later binge lol good video
I just watched triple dylan get two shadow dyes nearly back to back. Its insane.
Here’s hoping I luck out on a haul of like 400+ total clue caskets I’ve been saving up!
They really need to find a way to increase the max cash amount. Clearly 2.1b isn't high enough
I just got a barrows dye two days ago. It sold for 300m.
interesting i also got a dye then a few caskets later got a third age helm

Are they actually raising in price or price manipulation by x100 ratio.
Where can you get unmanipulated prices for them? Or the same price checker you used to compare if they are still rising?

If you sell a huge priced dye, does it go into your inventory as 2.1b lots ? How does that limit work? Thanks

How much is the scripture of bik going for now?
200m or less
the upkeep cost is more expensive, a few months ago each page went for a little more then 2m. Now they are over 3m
Like 105m right now?
Isn't that also because of the coin cap that got changed?
Blood dye is over 10 billion now which is equal to 9k+ Ancient scales???!!!
