Although I like most of Metallica's discography, I will say that time has definitely impacted their songwriting and performance. Especially james, vocalists usually have it rather hard when it comes to ability over time. And although he doesn't do the most extreme vocals, singing for 40+ years (plus other "rockstar activities") does speed up vocal degradation. Tl;Dr: I agree with roughly 3 quarters of your statement.@@petergriffin1409
@@progfox just like literally every single vocalist? idk what your point is lmao, autotune isn’t some magical thing that immediately makes your voice amazing, you still need talent to sound good regardless
The only thing I wish is that they had a few more soft parts like in inamorata because at points I felt like they were using a few riffs that weren’t up to standard with some of the other riffs in the album. I felt if they had a few slower parts like that, they would’ve had a more diverse album
it lacks a ballad. Some could argue that inamorata is the ballad, but still, it feels like the album would benefit from another softer song. and also some songs are a bit too repetitive and uninteresting, with tighter and shorter songs overall it would be a 10/10, but they stretch some of them for no much reason
There is not one bad song in this album. Sure some songs are better than others. But there is literally no bad songs in the album. Kick ass job Metallica 🤘
I was at the global premiere and it was so cool to see all of this just steam roll everyone and everything at once, I didn't expect greatness but some of the songs on this album hit like a damn freight train. Honestly an A tier album and I will except nothing less.
@@MetalheadCurt yup, darkness is the only song i don't like as do most others. the same two riffs are repeated constantly, the drums are far too crisp to the point where the machine gun style snare rolls are just monotonous, the solo is all truly over the place. the lyrics and vocal delivery seem odd for metallica standards. it's only high point is the way it closes, which it can't get to any faster considering you gotta wait a solid 6 minutes for a 30 second outro. everything else on the album is head and shoulders above darkness by MILES honestly. darkness either could have been left out of the singles releases or just completely scrapped from the record and it would have been an even better project. its the only song holding the album back for me.
@@Mayor912 I can not believe that you have same thinking as me. Most people are idiots. But you, you bring light. Like every song is the same. Listening to this video, shows that as well.

I’m adding Lux Aeterna to the list of songs that I could classify as “pure adrenaline” (So far I got Kickstart My Heart by Motley Crue and 1000hp by Godsmack)
Fun fact: the intro to “room of mirrors” was stolen from Damageplan’s “Moment of truth”. The absolute similarity is uncanny. Vinnie would be disappointed
i honestly loved this album
SAME! It is amazing i did not expect it to be that good.
Same man
It’s pretty good actually.
@@sandroj813 This album is complete shit
I didn't expect to be not disappointed, it's way better than Hardwired, and I LOVED Hardwired.
I honestly really like this new album
Me too
I like the touch from death magnetic
It’s like a Hard-Wired/Death Magnetic album which is good
I don't get the hate I mean it's not a masterpiece but still a very very great album specially today
Ive listened to some of it. Really like it so far
Chasing Light is the song that definitely caught me
Yeah, that song is my favorite off "72 Seasons."
the riff is insanely catchy
"Inamorata" is a masterpiece
chilllll
Ain't no way you calling modern metallica song "a masterpiece"

Sleepwalk my Life away intro is fuckin gold
Agree
Best song by far imo
Sandman vibes i just want to play it super loud

It’s the worst song in the album for me
Best vocals from James since reload. I love the sabbath and AiC vibes in some of the songs.
its so heavy, i love it

Exactly. No ballad or instrumental? All their best records included both of it. Sounds monotone without them.

@@youareweirdforreadingthis hah, wrong Lars. I’m from the US, he’s from Denmark. We just happen to share a name
