- I Tried making a realistic cartoon cake for the first time ever, for more realistic cakes or 3D cakes like this video
Things you will need:
your favorite Cake recipe
Boxed cake is fine!!!
casserole dish or baking pan 9 x 13
fondant white on container seen in video
yellow food coloring
2 other food coloring colors
Black fondant
Dark chocolate melts
heavy cream

Coming from somebody who did a class for things baking and has been baker for a few years now, this looks really good for somebody like you who is self taught! Also I’m so glad you noticed the branch and took it out lol. This is only the third or so video of yours I’ve seen and I love you energy!

What resources did you use to bake
@@crishnaholmes7730 hey there! Honestly my grandmother started it with me. Just basic stuff making cookies brownies simple things like that. From there I would see things on social media platforms and wanna try to make them but my own way so I literally just got in the kitchen and started doing just that. Tweak recipes, I taught myself how to make my own frostings cake flavors and fondants. Also how to decorate cakes and get them to stay together correctly with the right supports. I have a TikTok I'm gonna start doing step by step tutorials on there. Lmk if you're interested!
I'm so glad I didn't skip the baking of the cake part. You just taught me about dusting with corn starch.
Level the cake first, it's so much easier. There's also a tool for that. I'm a bread knife girl, but got the tool for my niece.

Same! I didn’t notice when it first got stuck in her hair but I randomly noticed the brighter color. I was so confused!! lol. Had to rewind a bit.

You can use a ruler when measuring next time also try to level the cake before cutting them into smaller pieces it's easier. Also if you don't really have a dome or a small one on top you can flip the cake and use the bottom to face upwards(top) that way it's flat when icing or using fondant.

Using too much butter actually makes the cake crispy and hard on the sides baking against the butter. A thin layer will keep the cake from sticking while allowing the cake to stay soft and delicious.
I came here after watching summer baking championship Barbie episode when they made a realistic toy cake. U probably did a much better job than those on food network ❤ Happy New Year 🎉
